My diverson has water in the oil,the crankcase to airbox preduses water.I have flushed her twice but did no good .Since leaving the breather pipe off I ran for 30 miles and everything seems clear. The pipe is now back on should the problem come back ? The bike was stood for 3 years but started once a week for 20 mins at a time. This may've contributed to the emulsification do you think ? An after mkt exhaust 4 into 1 [ motad, nexus] has been fitted what size carb jets should i fit if i need to ? HELP

Hi everyone, I was just hoping somebody could help me with my Yamaha YQ50 Aerox. The problem is that I can't get it to run properly with my new exhaust. I have tried increasing the main jet to a few of the recommended sizes and have added a better air filter in accordance with the main jet, but the bike still won't run properly. I am unsure if the reason for this is actually to do with the jet size or is something else causing the problem? At the moment most of the jets I have tried have been too large and therefore the bike doesn't pull away with them and just splutters and sounds bubbly. I have tried moving down a few jet sizes but the bike still starts off sounding ver…

Removed diaphrams and cleaned needles, slides working ok,throttle linckage returns instantly when cold or hot even after 80ml run ,cold start working fine as well. engine not overheating either.but just this damed sticking all the time after bike warmed up. Can any one sugest why? Many thanks.

Hey all, I just joined this forum and was hoping for a little help. My Beartracker - yes, I have a quad, not a bike, I'm hoping someone will still help - was running fine and just stalled on me. It will turn over but will not start, and I'm not getting a spark from the plug. I tested the connections going into the ignition coil and they don't seem to be getting any current. The fuses test out OK, and the relay appears to be working, for as much as I'm able to test it. I've inspected the wiring and connections and it all looks solid. Has anyone had this happen to their bike/quad and what was the cause? I'm strongly suspecting the CDI. It stopped running out of now…

hi guys. firstly i'll do the done thing and say "I'm new!" and hello to you all :-) i own a 95 foxeye fzr600, my first road bike and its a hoot. i have a blown fork seal, so i have decided to strip the forks down, clean them and put new oil in whilst i am doing the seals. webbs in peterborough were kind enough to photocopy the exploded diagram from the workshop manual for me so i know what goes where, but i have now stumbled on a probem. i cant get the inner and outer stanchions to seperate so i can get to the seal and drain the remaining oil and clean them ! (i have only tried on one fork leg so far) i took the forks off the bike, put the inner stanchion in a…

Hi all, I have purchased a left hand side caliper for my xs650 SG (1980). The caliper does not fit for some reason. The caliper is tight on the disk. Anyone tried to fit one? Have any problems? It looks like I would need to take about 3mm off the hub or the caliper to make it fit.

Hello, has anyone had this problem, Bike working fine, next journey went on to three cylinders and has stayed that way every since. Changed plugs, no differences. seems to be no 1 cylinder, pulling off HT lead no differences in tick over. opened drain on no1 carb petrol present. i am thinking it might be a blocked jet. Any thoughts suggestions, please drop me a line. Thanks Gregski.

Hello people, I'm new on here, so Hi to everyone. I have some questions if anyone can help please, while doing a restoration of my FZ750 First of all I have two bikes one is a G'Reg 89/90 and the other is an H'Reg 90/91. Anyway the H Reg has an all together nicer frame/switch gear etc, but the previous owner had a problem with the engine. Although he was going to sell it without the engine, he thought for the sake of it he would purchase another engine and install it before selling it. He told me that in the rush he didn't notice that it was a twin sensor engine. So I thought while I'm building the original bik I would use this one as a donor for the frame etc…

Hi all Looking for advice on converting the rear 18inch rim on my 600 to a 17 inch rim. Has anyone done this and what is needed to get it all working? Is it just a question of finding a 17 inch x 4.00 rim . Any ideas gratefully received. Thanks.

My bike XJ600N has been stood over the winter and now seems to have developed a problem when revving down, it starts popping. My first thought is it sucking air in through the carbs. but cannot see where. Everything working well revs no probs drives spot on but just pops when I close the throttle. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello everyone, I'd like to take the time to introduce myself. My name is Rob and I currently reside in New Haven Connecticut, approximately 10 minutes from the Yale University campus. Like I mentioned in the title of this thread, I own a 1991 Yamaha FZR1000 that is in beautiful condition. Each year I store it over the winter months in my garage and this year I decided to insulate all of the pipes that run through the garage thus making the temps drop to around 20 degrees. When I put the bike away last this past November, the clutch was working fine. Now it doesnt work at all. The handle has no resistance at all when I squeeze it. I have spoken to a mechanic at my Yamah…

Hi - new to this forum with a question. Bascially my (9 yr old) Fazer has recently begun to run quite poorly since it's last MOT around 3 weeks back. Symptons are - high petrol consumption (150 miles per tank vs 200 ish previously) - occasionally cutting out when idling at low revs - turning the screw makes little difference now (did previously) - engine stuttering on occasion; thought it was bad fuel initally but no longer Suspect problem may be carburetor related but unsure (and if so, what should I be looking to do/be looking for) ... any ideas ? Thanks in advance.
