  1. Hey guys, Whats the use in posting on general bike forums when theres a dedicated yamaha site, TOP SCORE!! (Glad i found you guys...) ANYWHO... Ive got a DT125 2001 model, everythings hunkydory, or was for a while.... I rode the bike for a few days after i bought it, then one trip i noticed my engine temp was increasing pretty quick, so i stopped and looked, id lost the little rubber bung out of my radiator overflow box under my left rear pannel, and water had splashed out onto my swing arm. Seeing this i thaught a bit of RADWELD radiator cleaner and expensive coolant additive would do the job.... I drained the radiator and did the process of cleaning and putting lov…

    HI CAN SOMEONE HELP. I HAVE A 2004 YAMAHA R1. IT HAS CREATED A MISFIRE. WHEN THE BIKE IS ON THE STAND IT RUNS SWEET. IT GETS HOT AND ALL THE USUAL THINGS HAPPEN FAN CUTS IN AND EVERYTHING. I TAKE IT FOR A BLAST AND THEN IT STARTS TO MISFIRE AND THE ENGINE MANAGMENT LIGHT COMES ON. THE FAULT DOES NOT CLEAR IF I TURN BIKE OF AND RE START. THE BIKE NEEDS TO COOL DOWN AND THEN STARTS AND RIDES FINE. THEN IT WILL START TO MISFIRE AGAIN AND THE MANAGMENT LIGHT COMES ON AGAIN.     Hi! I have 1993 Xj600S Diversion with a faulty engine. Tomorrow I`m gonna get another engine, from a newer model(1999). These newer models have an oil cooler, but everything else seems to be the same. Can I just ignore it and connest oil cooler hoses together? Earlier models could easily do without it, so would it be a problem in this case? If any answers, thanks a lot!

    hello i have a fazer 1000 it has been garaged for a about 6mths with no front wheel in it,i have put the wheel back in but the brake lever comes all the way back to the bar with not much resistance, i have been bleeding it with a clear pipe and a bottle and just pumping the lever but there is no air bubbles coming out ???????????????????????????????? HELP PLEASE.. THANK YOU..

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yes, I have a 1978 yamaha xs 360 motor that I have installed in a 6 wheeler.It seemed to work before , but has set for a few months.The 6 wheeler transmission is so low geared I couldnt really tell if the clutch was working right before or if it might have been slipping. My problem is Im not getting any movement out of the clutch push rod. I can pull it out some ,I didnt pull it out all the way. But I pushed it in till it stops and thats it, no spring travel that I can feel. Does anyone have an opionion on what it might be. How exactly does this push rod suppose to function.. ect..... Than…

    seems like i have a limiter on my bike at 50mph new set of points is on my xs, ive ordered new condensor, and noticed today one of the coils is getting hot, (aftermarket one) the side were the missfire is... Question. Is it normal for this to heat up. Other side stays cool? There is a coil on ebay for xs250, will this be ok for my xs400?

    Hi, I basicly have got this at xmas it's purely for using off road. It does have a MOT etc though. Anyway the front pipe had a massive hole in it, So i bought a new one from ebay just a standard one. And fitted that. I now want to rejet the carb but i have no idea on doing this! People i have spoken to said i should go up a size then it will be better so on. Whats the cost in doing this? Is it a hard job todo? Also i would like to look at derestricting it. If somebody could explain that to me that would be great! It's a 1991 version if thats any use. Thanks Phil

    I have a new Midnight Star which has now done 600 miles. I've noticed that when I turn it off and it starts to cool down there is a tiny amount of coolant coming from what looks like a round hole in the crank case. It might be a vent but should it be letting coolant out. Anybody got any ideas?

    have just started my race bike after doing engine rebuild. only firing on 3. have tried plug swap and coil swap, these have been eliminated as a fault if i pull plug cap off while engine is running it has no effect on idle or running but other 3 cylinders will stall the engine if i try this. when i pull plag cap off 1 it arcs everywhere and gives me a belt ! other 3 don't do this. bike had been standing since autumn before rebuild. gave battery bit of a charge. do they need a certain voltage to run the ignition system properly ? i think it's 12.8v but surely this would affect all cylinders. like i say have tried plugs and coils and these are fine i am…

    Hey folks just brought a 2002 r6 everythings been fine with the bike until sunday when i went out on a ride. when i got back my left indicators dont work. when i flick the switch to the left all the lights dimm for a second and thats it any ideas? cheers folks

    Hi all, does anyone know how to adjust the clutch at the engine end as I can't adjust it anymore at the lever. The 1st gear crunches really bad and lurches forward so it does need adjusting i'm just not sure how to do it, cheers

    Hi, have an R1 engine, and need to substantiate the year of manufacture. The only number I can find on the block starts with 66664 NR. There appears to be no number stamped by the oil inspection glass. Any helpful guidence appreciated. jim

    I have posted this before i have a 95 yzf 600 that i bought and it would not idle you can pull the choke and it will idle i have replace the joints under the carbs because they were all dry rotted and cracked and that didnt help so i cleaned the carbs really good with cleaner and wire to clean the jets and used a air compresser and that didnt work i got the book and i saw that the pilot screws were out 2 1/2 turns so i put them at the correct 2 turns out and that didnt help i adjusted the throttle stop screw and got it to idle at 2 1/2 rpm it will do that for about 10 seconds and then die and also when i barly turn the throttle it bogs down and when i turn a little more …

    Hi, Bought a 1997 P.reg thundercat a fortnight ago for a good price, replaced the front pipes and front tyre and put it in for a MOT Sadly it failed on stiff rear suspension, needs to have 4 inches of movement?? Also a leaky front caliper which i think just needs a seal kit The thing that is boiling my blood is the stiff suspension, is this a common thundercat fault or do they just seize up I think the bike has stood for a yr or 2, apart from these problems I'm very happy with the CAT Some advice would be most helpful Cheers Help me please, with a cherry on top

  20. Any wiring experts here? Is it possible to wire the CDI and coil directly to the engine and do away with everything else? How would I do it? Thanks Mark
