I have just recently brought a yamaha xt550 y-reg The bike is holding back every now and again like a car running on 3 cylinders, I've rewired the battery and fitted new coil. I think this could be a fuel problem any ideas? all suggestions welcome!!

hi i had my tzr 50 for bout year nw i drove it back from work to my house and thn went to go back out and it ouldnt start i checked every thing and found tht spark pulg is nt sparkin i tryed a new one and try an othere ingnistion coil and no luck if any one can help pls will be well appreciated nmany thanx

I've got an old xs360. I've stripped it down to nothing, and I'm putting it back together the way I want it. I'm just confused about the way the voltage regulator is wired in. I've got the finned rectifier for my generator attached to the generator with the stock connector. The generator has four wires (3 whites, 1 yellow) that plug into the harness, the yellow terminates there, and the three whites go into the rectifier. From there I have a RED and BLACK wire coming out of the rectifier. Do I just wire that straight to the battery? Where do I wire in the voltage regulator?

hi, everyone, problem i have is that when i turn the ignition key to the on position i loose the spark but it returns when i turn it off.had barrel check and is fine. anybody have any ideas because ive ran out of them.

Hi all I have just got a old yb100 (1976 model) tidy bike but in need of a new engine Can anyone confirm that a later models engine would drop straight in? I have also been told that a lot of FS1E parts will fit? I am fairly new to bikes so any help will be much appreciated Many thanks Tony.

1979 XS400SG, new throttle cable. Problem is that when the bike is turned the revs climb! Not good. It's worse in one direction and at full lock. I think it's a modern cable with a plastic sheath inside so I understand it's not a good idea to lubricate inside those. Not sure if the cable needs to be clamped or secured somewhere in the middle. Any ideas?

Hi all, just had the rocker cover off my 88 xj600, cos it wont start. No valve clearances at all (that'll do it every time). Anyone any idea how they could have got to be this bad? What I really need are the details of the valve clearances and cam chain timings and and any other details or advice thats going to help me sort this out over the weekend. thanks in advance, Mike

I have a 98 600 Divvy and I would really like to fit either an oil pressure gauge, or at least a warning light. I know it’s equipped with an oil level light but I would feel more easy if it had a pressure indicator. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks. Rob

Hi, I have just changed the brake pads on my Thunderace and they are now binding a bit. The front wheel is difficult to turn. I guess I will have to strip the calipers down to free up the pistons so they travel back into the caliper freely. Has anyone done this recently and, if so, did you get away with using the old seals? I don't mind buying new seals but it takes ages to get parts in my area and I need to get back on the road ASAP. Any advice gratefully recieved. Many thanks. Tim.

Hi All: I am new to riding, and bought a 1998 XJ600N a couple of weeks ago. Everything has been going fine until today. On the way to work, my keys fell out of the ignition somewhere along the A3. Oh joy. And I don't have spares. I've ordered a lockset from Yamaha which should arrive tomorrow, but in the mean time I'm not sure if I have enough fuel to get home. If I undo the hex screws on the fuel cap, should it all just come away so I can fuel up? And if anyone has any advice about fitting a lock set (ignition, fuel cap and seat lock), I'd be very grateful to hear it. The ignition is in the on position in case you were wondering how I would start it. Many Thanks ..…

I have a 2001 DT 125 and i use it for off-road. The other day the piston shattered and all the bits went into the bottom of the engine and its now jammed solid. I have took off all the bolts around the magneto side to try and split the crank but i cant take it off for some reason, i was just wondering if i had to take the gearing section off on the right to undo any bolts or if the left hand side was just on tight? Any help appreciated thank
