i have a 79 xs 750 the bike was sputtering in low rpms and i changed from air cleaner to air pods and now gas is dumping in the oil. does anyone know whats going on here/ and how can i fix it?

Hi, I am new to the board, and new to motorcycles. I recently received a 92 XJ600 seca II. It was working pretty good there for a few weeks, but now it dies after a few minutes of riding. It starts up pretty strong and seems to run fine, but after about 3 to 5 minutes it starts having trouble. If I am riding it at speed, it will continue to run, but barely and will little power. When I release the clutch it dies. If I pop the clutch it starts back up, but there isn't enough power being produced to accelerate much. I can start it back up with the choke out, but it will often just rev high for a sec then die again. Sometimes I can keep it going if I give it gas,…

hi guys, this is really an ongoing problem, but now its got me terified of riding the bike. before i sepnd heaps on it just wanted some advice. my bike has a race exhaust on it with no baffle, im sure it hasnt been jetted but im told this may not be the problem. what happens is when i pull away on a flat eaven surface its giving me delayed power. i pull back throttle, power comes a second later. if i try to pull away at an angle or on a cambre it just stalls or i have to rev the tits off it to get it going. both not really fun when a car is coming at u from the side! ive been told to fix the plugs, carbs, air filter, clutch...ect. anyone recon they can pinpoint it? or…

Hey all im currently fightering an old fz i picked up but the fuel tanks like a sieve, breakers are qouting daft prices for a replacement, are there any other tanks off anything else like a fz750 or fzr thats a close fit?? Also same for the forks are these interchangble with other models?? Regards Phil

Hi there...Well I bought an RXS 100 a couple of months back purely for getting to work and I would like to know where to look to get any info on making it look more sexy. Ive seen quite a few things about baffles and racing reeds etc but not that interested in speed so much as making it look funky. I really dont know very much about bikes so the whole project will be winging it. For instance... Can I get a range of handlebars to fit it? Longer forks? Different mud guards? Id like to spray it black..how hard is it to remove petrol tank etc? Funky lights available? Now I know its a pretty ugly wee bike and perhaps im asking too m…

hey, i woke up this morning after taking my new toy out on its first wet run. and it wouldnt budge, turns out the front brakes were stuck. the guy i bouhgt it off of said they had new brake pads. is this normal b4 they are bedded in? or is it to do with the rainwater? or was i just told a porky and i need new brake pads? cheers david

Hi Folks, I'm new to this forum and just hope someone can help me with a chronic problem on my 52 plate TMAX. I've owned it from new and when the bike is left to stand for some time (couple of weeks) it can be very difficult to start. The starter turns the motor over but it takes ages to fire......my initial thoughts are that fuel might be leaking/evaporating from the carb float bowls during this time and consequently when i try to start the starter has to prime the carbs all over again.... sometimes the poor battery can't manage this extended cranking and i have to rest it up and put the batery on a charger...this fault is spoiling an otherwise great machine.... …

please can anyone help i have fitted a bike it led rear light with built in indicators and also bike it led front indicators and there relay problem is when lights are on rear indicators are only half illuminated but when lights are off rear indicators light up fully need help as i had to mot it for daylight use only

Having done some research I still can't decide if I should get some new tyres for my new bike. Some say the standard nylon ones are crap yet others say the new model tyres are better. My local dealer wants £170 to supply and fit Michelin pilots I have no plans to go flying around on my bike (it is a 125 with an inexperienced rider after all ) but I do want to be as safe as possible - probably shouldn't ride a bike I guess As I'm a newbie to all this lark, I would appreciate some advice

MY Fz600 Has The Frame Stamped with the MFR date being in 1987, yet the title says 1988. I was curious so i looked at my truck, and the sticker on the inside part of the door says 1989, but the title said it was a 1990! I figure i either got scammed into buying two stolen vehicles from two different people (what are the odds)... Orrrrrr... the manufacture date is a year earlier because they didn't hit the sales floor until the following year. SO my BIG question is; when i go to get parts do i order them per the year on the frame or on the title? thx-The Junker

My bike has just come out of the shop from its first service and the rear brake is making a really loud scream when i come to a stop anybody got ne ideas on what it could be ? Thanks in advance for your help

I finally got my 1978 xs400-2e to run pretty good. But now if i run it for about 10 minutes it will die, then it won't start and all the indicator lights are real dimm. So I don't think it is charging. Still waiting to borrow a battery tender so I can't try again for a bit. Just looking for suggestions before I get into it.

hi people, just got a brand new 08 ybr125, my first ever bike, really chuffed etc. etc. but in a really stupid newbie fashion i've found the steering lock a bit of a bugger to turn on...is this a problem to worry about? (i have to wriggle the handle bars a little each time i lock it) it doesnt seem a problem now but i dont want to get to work and find i cant lock it at all... any ideas? steve (worrying about nothing gives you something to do)

Hi, yesterday I rode my bike in to work, no problems. When I tried to start it up the next morning, the battery was dead, did about two swings and that was it. So I tried "bump starting" it. When I drop the clutch the bike starts up for about half a second and goes dead. The dash display disappearing with it. So I picked up a battery from my local bike shop and popped the new charged battery in and started her up. I measured the Voltage over the terminals and it stayed at 12V regardless if I pick up the revs or not. So I raced back home from work with the knowledge that it's not charging the battery and about a hundred yards from my home she spluttered to a halt. …
