I collected my fx750 Genesis (1990) on Friday, and have now ridden about 500 miles. It seemed a bit rattly when I first got it, but this has gradually got worse. It is speed related, not engine revs related. The drive chain needs tightening slightly, but is basically OK, and I'm happy to do that. However, moving the drive chain slightly generates a small rattle somewhere behind the small sprocket cover. Therefore, based on other reading, I reckon the problem is the primary chain. Our SR's are developing a fault where the tickover just slowly dies until they stall. Put the headlight on and it's almost immediate. Wer've checked everything we can think of ans swapped bits from bike to bike with no success. Any ideas? Thanks guys

i may be a bit dumb but can i get a paddock stand for my yzf r125 as in need to work on the wheels mostly the front but want to paint the wheels and want to do the front first help please

Im on with putting my fz forks back together, the coils on the spring are closer together at one end than the other, anyone any idea which way round the spring would go back in?? Phil

HELLO ALL,MY FAZER600 ON A 51 PLATE WAS RECENTLY FLATTENED BY A FAIL TOP STOP BREWERY LORRY.....I NEED TO REPLACE THE HANDLEBARS,CAN I FIT RENTHAL OR SIMILAR STRAIGHT BARS.I'M NOT SURE ABOUT DIAMETERS AND SUCH THINGS,PLEASE HELP COZ I'M OFF THE ROAD AT THE MOMENT...APRECIATE ANY INFO.....THANX

Hi all, I'm new! I have an XS650 with a Halco 840cc big bore kit and oil cooler and she's fitted with 1 3/4" stainless pipes. Because of the location of the oil cooler takeoff I need to wrap the exhausts... But I've heard that wrapping the headers can increasae the temperature of the exhaust in the ports, and with the bore of the pipes being oversize as well, I'm concerned about burning out my exhaust valves. Any advise or info is greatly appreciated! Cheers Liz

O.K. This is my first post. I've been riding my 1982 xs400 all summer and loving it but now... It was left parked for a week outside where it got wet from a srinkler system. When I tried to start her there was no power at all so i charged the battery, still nothing. Then found the main fuse (20A) was blown. I replaced it, turned the key and it blew instantly. I've inspected the wires for obvious shorts and found nothing. I took apart the ignition switch cleaned it and still blows the main fuse instantly when the key is turned. I haven't much experience with electrical and I'm not to sure where to start. I have a digital multi meter that I bought and haven't ne…

i'm new to the yamaha scene... i have an 86 yx600. how do i check the level? when i take the cap off the resevoir, there is no level indicator that i can tell. thanks!

is there any way of raising clip ons on a yzf750? its got a single seat unit(think r6) but too small, is there any bigger seats ?

Ive recently bought a YBR125 and im loving it, its my first bike and ive found it a joy to ride apart from the headlight (which Ive replaced) and the thin tyres (which im about to replace,) However I dont have a clue about bikes and although I check the oil occasionally its hasnt needed topping up yet, but when it needs topping up I have no idea which oil I shoud be using? Ive only done 500 or so miles on it and it was serviced just before I bought it, How often would you reccomend getting it serviced? many thanks Todd

Hi can anyone help me? yesterday my rev counter on my 95 FZR600R 4JH started playing up. when i am stood still on the bike the rev counter shoots up to 8000 revs and back to zero. It does this all the time. so it sits at zero for 2 seconds then upto 8000 revs and back down again. the ignition is in the on position with the engine off and it does it, or if the engine is running it does it. so when im riding along i have no rev counter apart from it flicking up and down... any help would be much appreciated. Hi Everyone, Just joined the forum and it looks great. I hope someone can help me with my bike. I've got a '02 YZ426f which I overfilled with oil, but I still went riding for about 10 glorious hours. When I was washing it after the ride I noticed that there was white oil dripping from the engine breather. There is no oil in my radiator...or on the dipstick... Does anyone know what else could be wrong? Head gasket... water pump seal... ??? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Hi all, new hurr. I've got an R125 in Sport White with Red - fitted the tail tidy, removed pillion pegs and fitted a Yamaha single-seat hump. I now want to continue the red stripe visible right above the brake light down across the top of the hump. I'm quite happy with doing this myself - but does anyone know the correct colour code for the red on the R125? Any help much appreciated, Jon

clutch lever will not pull in right now - don't know if the slave cyl is frozen, clutch is incorrectly installed, or what. will go through all gears in tranny when sitting, all gears are firm. clutch is disengaged completely when started. (ie: put it in gear and it doesn't move) what does anyone think of this? i like the bike but i dont want to do a clutch or anything serious

So today, i stripped and rebuilt my XS250 carbs. Re attached them to my bike reconnected all the leads and fired the bike up Revs zoomed way up to 5000rpm! :'( then wouldnt start again and battery has gone flat. After removing the sparkies to clean, before replacing, discovered the left side in the top end is now cross threaded. Im feeling useless and i rung up Yamaha, on,y to hear theyve discontinued a majority of the parts. had a quote for repairs to my top end, being around 120.00 ish, (if im lucky) not having much luck with this bike at the moment

Hi People, Having purchased a new set of USED front calipers I am having trouble bleeding them. Is it possible that they could draw air back through the piston seals whilst bleeding? Air just keeps coming and there doesn't appear to be any leaks from the pipes. Checked everthing several times etc.... Just getting a little fed up now, Anyones help would be really great Thanks Jim
