Hi there! I have a YBR125 (2007) and the last 5-10 days I hear a strange noise from the chain (near the drive axle) I'm not sure if it is the chain or if it is the drive axle (bearings ???) The sound is not constant. It is somehow periodical and I have about 15.000KM on the clock. How will I know if the chain is about to be changed ? Has anyone ever faced a similar problem ? I had the opinion that Yamahas are buletproof. Should i begin to worry ??? Sorry about my mistakes...

Hi, I am new and I am looking at buying a new Yamaha YZF R125. Does anyone know roughly how fast it gets to 60? I have only ever had 2 stroke 125 bikes and am a little unsure of the 4 stroke. It is the best looking 125 I have ever seen though! I am not too bothered about the top speed, as long as it does about 80+ ish which I undersatnd they do! I prefer acceleration! any info would be great..

Hi, My son has just bought a yamaha XJ750 trike and managed to hit a wall bending the bikes frame (just under fuel tank. Since its a trike we are not sure which model xj750 it is as the log book just says trike. can anyone tell us , if the frames on all the xj750's are the same? or do they all have different ones. the bike is a 1981 and it seems for the next 5 years there are many XJ750's but they have letters after the number and look different fuel tanks and seats. Any help would be apprciated.

I'm not having much luck with the downpipes on the Cat... the issue is that they keep loosening off the cylinder head so start blowing. This all started when I needed to remove the downpipes due to several holes in them... they were cleaned up, welded and painted but upon removal three of the top row of studs snapped... so these were heli-coiled with new M6 threads and then bolts used to tighten up. After 100 miles they had loosened off so much that I lost a bolt so this time we tightened them up so much we snapped one of the heli-coil inserts so had to do it again ... Now after 70-80 miles the bikes blowing again from the cylinder head area and I suspect they ha…

Hi, I am new to Yamaha owners club and I have just picked up a 97 SR125 (24k on clock) and the engine is a little noisy. I adjusted the tappets which took care of part of the noise and the engine started to sound better. I then adjusted the timing chain tensioner by screwing in the adjuster until the adjuster piston is flush with the top of the adjuster nut (as per mister Haynes). Q1. Should I have adjusted the timing chain first then the tappets? Q2. The problem is that the adjuster nut had to be screwed in so far that there are not enough threads for the adjuster cap to fit onto (normally the adjuster nut would have 4 or 5 threads showing to fit the cap onto). …

Hi folks, I got a 1988 FZR 1000 Genesis yesterday and thought I'd take it for a blast as it's such a gorgeous day, but my ride was cut short when the bloody thing fell of the side stand when I got it out the garage. So I have broken the gear selector. After looking around on the web I have come to the conclusion that the selector may not be original, as i seem to remember the guy I got it off saying something about it. Anyway, just wondered if anyone new whether it is original or if not, where I could get a replacement from. many thanks
