    i have a 2000 r6. thats failing to hold its charge, i have had the battery tested and it charges and reads fine. but then a after 8-9hrs is flat and fails to start ..... is it the battery or more likely the alternator ?? any ideas

    Hi any suggestions? Cat starts on the button usually but if it doesn't catch or I stall !! sometimes it just shows the lights and does nothing.The relay under seat does click.I am in neutral the stand is up or down. Battery is fine and connections to it are good. I remedy it by putting it in 2nd rock it forward and usually it goes as per normal.Happened first time other day but getting a bit more common. Is this a stuck starter motor, do they?Any thing else to check before taking it to shop? Thanks.

    My son recently knock off his alternator. We were lucky enough to find a replacement, stator, rotor and housing at a salvage yard. We put on the new parts and the bike ran perfect for two days. We are now having ignition problems, has only started twice today and cut out out while riding in second gear. We have ripped apart all the wiring we re-worked for the alternator replacement. We have check all the connectors associated with that. We have checked both coils and connections of the ignitor box as well and still no spark. We are positive its electrical because we can't get a spark on the plugs. We did the classic spark plug test, which it failed. I have a shop ma…

    I am looking at getting a used 02 FZS600 fazer and have only a A2 licence thus will need to get it restricted - is this easy to do and how much should i expect to pay? cheers

    Can anyboby help me im tryin to de-restrict my yamaha fazer600, iv had a very patient 2years but its now time to take them out. Cost me 350 to get them in and its de same to get them out, so tryin to do this myself(if possible). The restriction device that went in was a blade part no 05-RJ02-K25, basically it was four big washer with a 3mm hole. Now i asked in de bikeshop were they go but he didnt give a straight answer, he did say something about de head and all havin to come off but i find this hard to believe. So if any has done this or knows how please tell, cheers..

    I have a DT175e '78 model and the front forks needed new oil seals. How do I get the alloy dust collar off the lower leg? I can dismantle the complete fork assembly and cannot get to the seals with out removing the alloy collar.

    ok guys. I have a seca (not a maxim) xs400. The paperwork and the bike both stop at xs400 and don't make any further distinction. However, there are six different models of the xs400, and they use three different specs for the amount of fork to be used. Is there a reliable way to tell the difference or is there a reliable way to work around not knowing without screwing up my forks?

    hi everyone i have a yamaha aerox 50cc 2005, it is derestricted and completly standard apart from the exhaust rollers and clutch springs, i fitted a leo vince tt sports exhaust on it today and also fitted the rollers and springs that came with it. when i pull away it hardly moves even on full throttle to pull away it is very very very sluggish and sounds like it is really stuggeling. is this because i need to derestric the variator to get more power, or is it because i need to upjet? i have no idea and i have college on monday and i ride it there everyday, soo any help would be great!! thanks

    Hi everyone I have a fzr400 3tj track bike, and im trying to find out what needs to be done to fit a 600 lump into it. basicaly which is the best engine, does it need a new loom and ignitor box. and the little things you dont think of untill you come across them. any advice will gratefully be recived

    Hi all, today my bike started doing some noise when running slow and turning the front fork. I went down to the tachometer cable. I mechanical I've consulted told me the tachometer needs lube. Can you give me any advise in doing so? (XS400 12E) It doesn't seem difficult but I'd like to do it right. By the way, the only oil I've got is mineral 20w50, will that be enough for now. (I'll by a different one for the next time if needed). Thanks a lot, Asier

    ok im finding it dificult to find what year my engine is i have the engine number but no frame number as it is now in a custom frame how do i find the year of it? is there any identifying things or simlar that might give me an idea so i can start ordering parts lol

    I am picking up a brand new 58 plate fazer on monday and have been told that the engine is a slightly de tuned R6 engine.. Bet you know what i am gonna ask lol Can you get the engine tuned to an R6 standard??? How??? How much??? Where Cheers Gaz

  19. I have got a 1999 R6 with 23000ish miles on the clock. I recently noticed a noise coming from the top end of the engine?? and was wondering if anyone knows whether this is likely to be the Cam chain tensioner or un balanced carbs?? I have checked the oil...all ok. The bike has been run until very recently restricted to 33BHP, so this may also be a factor?? Any advice would be breatfully appreiciated.#

    i have had the ring taken out of the air flow so now it goes 42 mph but all i was hoping for was a little better exceleration. which did not happen can any one help me with how to make it have better exceleration many thanks sam
