Greetings all. I recently purchased a 86 Yamaha Radian 600 just from a random search que in craigslist. Now you must understand, i knew nothing of bikes. Im 28 years old and have never even ridden a dirt bike. I bought this just to save gas. Needless to say its been a hell of a learning experience consider I learned that the CCs on this is not too newbie-friendly. But I have learned to ride and in consiquence, have now learned about what I bought. There have been alot of problems with the bike and while minor, I would still try to get this working almost perfectly considering its age. The bike itself has 31k miles on it and definatly taken a long tumble from the pr…

Hi Guys/Gals, Just bought a cheap FZR600 (1990) after passing my test last month and I could do with some advice please. Below 4000 revs the bike seems to stutter. I have cleaned the carbs, and the fuel tap (will replace the fuel filter this weekend). The guy i bought it off said it had stood for a while!! It has no problem starting and idling. It does have a race can on (Art pro series 2) could the problem be the carbs need rejetting if so what size? Or could it be valve clearances or something simple like plugs? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello! I recently bought an XJ600 Diversion off ebay for £250... Bargain! Bit of work got it MOT'd etc and it ran beautifully... for about 1000 miles. Now the motor is currently sat in peices awaiting a new conrod and some other bits Anyway, I picked up a Cat C write-off with an engine that'd done around 10,000 miles so we decided to stick it in my bike and see if it works. We got the engine running with little trouble, but as soon as it started running, we got fuel coming out of the carb breathers / overflow tubes and we've no idea why. The Fuel pump (electric) and the carbs are from the original bike, literally the only thing we've done is switch t…

hello, can't resist squeezing some more power from my 02 DTR 125, i've done the usual derestrictions, trouble is I'm 18 stone, so the bike struggles a bit. Has anyone 1) used a athena 170 kit, did it make much of a difference 2) Whats the max cc you can rebore the barrel to, what difference did it make 3) Are there any other engines or top ends that will fit with little modification 4) Are there any mods you've tried, that made a difference dieting is not an option. thanks

Will check 1st thing tomorrow My question is does anyone know if the exhaust is easy to replace? Will it have to be a complete new exhaust or does the brushed metal on exhuast screw off like a cover? Any ideas of costs? Any advice/help? Thanks Dave

Hi All, well having now used my YB100 for the past 8months and after some carb problems, the little beast runs so well I am sticking with it. HOWEVER, winter is almost on us and I really could use some better lighting. Has anyone converted their YB100 to 12v. If so was it and easy job. I have just rewired the back end as the earthing was poor and lights were extra dim. I am assuming that a 12v battery, a different rectifier and bulbs are all I need, but would be really interested in finding someone who has done this. Thanks and regards Russ

Dear All, On my 2001 T Max the front brake has developed uneven braking, at slow speed it grabs and releases very badly. This is the second time this has happened and about 2 months ago I had the disc replaced with a new Yamaha disc and pads and the problem was 95% solved. But it is back. My local bike mechanics say maybe the caliper is pulling unevenly and distorting the disc, or maybe the wheel is not true. (the head bearings adjustment is fine). But replacing any of these parts will be very costly when we are not sure they are at fault. Can anyone shed any light on this problem? Many thanks.
