ok i'm stuck........ my FZR400R circa 1989 keeps dying when the engine gets hot with no throttle responce.it's fine when cold a runs fine till the temp gets high then it dies....... best explanation i can give is that it gets starved of air when hot.. remove the air filter and cover still no joy....remove the complete air box and hey presto it burst into life .... so far i have check valve clearences .. all ok... ensured fuel pump is fine...... tried a set of carbs of a running bike to check mixtures etc...and still not resolution to the prob. checked inlet manifold rubbers .. ok... so i'm totally stuck don't know what to try next. so any help much appreciated

Hi all, I was thinking of getting some widers to fit onto my 1998 FZS600 in the hope that I might be able to see back past my shoulders! Has anyone else fitted wideners and do they really do the trick? The wideners that I have seen online don't look big enough to make any difference. Thanks for help and advice.

Anyone here spray down their o-ring chain with WD-40, and call it a day? I'm starting to come around to that idea more and more. Alls I've read about o-ring chains praise its longevity over the standard chains. But then, in a half-hearted, after-the-fact sort of way, there's always the disclaimer that you should still lube them. But why? The pin/roller assembly is sealed, so it's not as though you're gonna get any lube in there. I suppose there's some logic to lubing up the rollers as they make contact with the sprockets, but any benefit of that soon becomes a moot point after the first ride anyways. And nowhere have I read that you outta blast the chain with lub…

Hi all, I've just joined the club and I'm gonna dive straight in and ask for help! I've just bought a '00 T'cat and wanted to get it into a garage to get it checked over, balance carbs and sort out the alarm (keeps playing silly buggers). I did a dealer search on the Yam site and decided to take it to Ride MX in Stratford. After a day or 2 the guy phoned up and said he's not trained on this alarm but the guys round the corner, Knotts Motorcycles are so I've agreed to get it booked in there. Basically, finally getting to the point, has anyone heard anything good or bad about Knotts? Also does anyone have any reccomendations for garages in the Warwick area for futu…

Hi all. New here just passed my full bike test today woo hoo! I have come across the most pristine conditioned XJ600S.. looks like Yamaha had just finished building it! Not a mark anywhere, no grease on the engine.. no scratch anywhere, absolutely mint. But, it wont start and fuel is pouring out from under the fuel tank. The story with this bike is it was bought by a gentleman who works with my dad. He bought it frrom brand new but got a bit shaken up riding in heavy traffic and was put off riding it. Its only done 3000 miles from new. But its been standing quite a long time. He's a nice guy, an honest chap my dad has known for many years and he has lo…

Hi guys, i have a 2005 Tzr 50 (in photo) and the oil that is in the gearbox is milky. I believe it to be the WaterPump seal or the head gasket, more likely the water pump. I need some help on what to do basically. The guy i bought the bike off kindly have me £100.00 to fix the problem so i am now looking for the parts. I can get hold of a waterpump kit for 11 quid off ebay but i cant find a head gasket that will fit mine. The bike to me does not seem to be lacking power and the powerband kicks in very well and i have had 46mph out of it with somebody on the back in 3rd gear out of 6, without powerband. However when i am pulling off from a hill i need to give it quite a…

Hi folks, I was just wondering if you could help me out on a bit of a problem I've got with my 1991 TZRR 125 Belgrada. I think the top end bearing might need replacing . See my posting in here: http://www.125ccsportsbikes.com/forums//in...showtopic=56754 Now while I'm keen to get my hands dirty & give it a go myself, I'd first like to know a few things. I've dug out an old Haynes manual that my brother had when he had his TZR many moons ago. It covers the models TZR125 & DT125R, but, specifically says that the 125 TZR R is not covered by this manual. Surely the 125cc engine would be the same for all 3 125cc models . I'm game …

hey folks, new to the club, and new to bikes, so bare with me please im in france with my sr 125, i was taking a tight corner and leaning over quite a bit the chain came loose, and off the rear wheel cog (bad jargon, i know) so i put it back on, easily enough, but then it was really loose. anyways i continued along my merry way, bike still functioning just about. but sometimes the chain would come off, obviously coz its real loose.... so now i've had a friend tighten it, not sure how, i guess he took out some links??? apparently, the chain is completely wrecked, it badly needs oil and to be changed.... i know, i'm useless. so heres the quetions how much does…
