Hi Guys I am new to this but I am having a problem with noisy top end on my FJ. The noise only starts when the motor gets hot and sounds like tappets or valves. When first starting and running for about 10 min it sounds perfect. Someone has suggested that my spark plugs might be to hot ,being in Australia the weather is pretty warm. Can someone reccomend a set of plugs that run cooler it currently running ND plugs #x24ES-ZU. P.S. Does anyone know where I can get a gas cap must be hinged type for a 1984 model. CHEERS

I bought my Yamaha SR125 around 3 weeks ago now, and when I tried starting him up on tuesday and I got the typical engine trying to start noise but It didnt turn over, I then tried it again and got nothing what so ever. The lights came on but that was all. When i bought him of the dealer it started fine. Any suggestions on what maybe the problem?

I own a yamaha 2006 Nytro snowmobile and have a quick question about a dead battery. I would like to know if if it's ok to use a regular 12 volt battery charger to charge the battery (the kind that you would use on a car)? I've read about "trickle chargers" but don't want to spend the money if I don't have to since I have a regular charger already. My battery is about 95% dead. It turns over the machine for 30 seconds and then dies. Funny thing is if I let it sit for 10 minutes, it still has power to turn it over again! Also, how long should I run/drive the machine so there will be enough to charge the battery that it won't leave me stranded, should I shut it …

Hi everyone. im just tarting my DT up a bit and was wondering if i could change the handlebars easily. basically they are too straight, they pull my shoulders forward and when sitting upright it starts to ache after about half hour. are there any drag style bars/ swept back bars that would fit it? i rode an original DT50MX not too long ago and that had the original bars which felt alot nicer and relaxed, but i would rather find a nice cheap set of aftermarkets than get a set of originals

Hi, I've started doing bits and pieces to my bike, and so far so good. I have two questions though: 1/ My sidestand switch doesn't work, which is ok, because it never did, so i just got used to it and never ride off with the stand down, but i want to change it. In my hayes manual, it says to check continuity in one position and infinite resistance in the other. Will a bog standard multimeter be able to take these readings or do I need something different? 2/ When idling my engine sounds quite rough, not clanking, but its definately noticeable. if the choke is on (ie more revs) the noise dies down, and as soon as you put it in gear the noise dies down, and disa…

Hello - can anyone tell me how to tell if a headlight, which isn't fitted to the bike, is a UK or EU spec? I'm after an EU one and a lad has a unit but doesn't know if it's UK or EU. It's easy enough to tell if it's on the bike. Are ther any serial part numbers to tell the difference? Thanks.

Hi, I'm in the process of rebuilding an XJ 750 1982 and I'm trying to locate either the part, or part number that joins the carbs to the engine i.e: the short rubber hoses. I'm also wondering whether these are only available from Yamaha, or are there pattern spares available. Cheers, Mick

i have a 99 r6. its has carbs and no race cans or modifications. in the summer it tended to need a bit of time to warm up, otherwise it would stall when no throttle was being used. but in the winter it needs to get up to 80 degrees b4 it can have to choke taken off. and it takes up to ten minutes some days. is this normal behaviour for this type of bike or do i have issues? also i gave it a full service and rejetted the engin just before the winter.

Hi. Have a 650 dragstar and bought a h/hawk universal screen but this doesnt sit correctly as the spots stop the screen from going down low enough. Has any one had this problem? I have a couple of ideas such as trying to turn the spots bar upside down or failing that make a bracket for the lights to push them forward. Any thoughts gratefully recieved
