hi all this is my first post, have just bought an old air cooled dt125 and the problem is when you rev it up or ride it there is no power will rev so much the sound as if there is a rev limiter, just spluttering and not reving up,have changed spark plug, tied a different ht lead and cap,not sure if it a weak spark theres compression and the carb has been checked and is all fine,it wont die but will not rev up any more so have to change gear will only rev about 2 seconds in each gear before you have to change as there is no more puff just like a rev limiter,i quite sure it must be electrical any suggestion would be greatfully appriciated

Hi all, After some deliberation I have decided to fix up the 1990 xj600 that was stolen and recovered at the end of last year (some of you may remember the thread I started prior to the bike being stolen). I have managed to get all the parts I need and I'm making steady progress, though it's not ready to ride just yet... My question is whether there should be any brake drag on the front wheel when the brake is not being applied? I can turn the wheel, but it's quite stiff. I have had the RH caliper off (drained the hose) to look at the pistons and they seemed okay. Cleaned up the LH caliper without removing the hose, as the pistons again seemed okay. I probably didn…

Hi, My rear tyre has a puncture, and its tubeless, so i'm assuming the best thing to do, rather than try to fix it, is just get a new one. ON the sidewall its says: 130/70-18 I've looked around a bit, and found some for about £80 including postage. My car tyres (from the ww dealership) were only £60. Does £80 sound right to you? If not, does anyone know anywhere cheap, I can get one from?

I just bought an oil pump off eBay that fits a CT2/3, but it has a larger worm drive pitch than the bad one I'm replacing. Other than that they are identical. Any help or information would be appreciated...

Hey o! So according to the manual I should be able to just 'remove rotor' being that it has brushes and is not a 'later model'. Sure doesn't seem to be the case. Obviously the cover is off, and the stator is removed but the rotor won't budge! Does this require some kind of rotor puller tool? Is there any way I can make my own if this is the case? Thanks/Cheers! Guenther

ive had my 1999 r6 a while now wiht no problems. but today after accidentaly taking a wrong turn and going down a muddy rocky farm road (slowly) it began to tap in conjunction with the revs i gave it. i.e, the more revs, the more taps. fairly loud. it sounded really bad at the time so i stopped and let it cool down a bit. on the way home it kept taping. but getting quieter. heres where i explain ive been riding witha guy on a 125 and as of late i rarely exceed 50mph. so when i got home i took it to my local duel carrige way and gave it some. after that no noise. havnt riden it since incase its serious. perhaps the tap-its?? im thinking of taking it to a mecha…

Hello folks, I'm about to take delivery of an XJ550 with a knackered starter motor. It might be just brushes, or even just some loose connections, but if it turns out that the starter is US then could someone kindly tell me if the starter from the later XJ600 range will fit mine. 550s aren't exactly thick on the ground these days, and any second -hand parts are obviously going to be pretty old. Cheers all, Mike.

Please can anyone help, I have just bought a very clean 93 XJ600 with 18000 on the clock, the problem I have is when first started from cold pot 3 will not fire until engine is well warmed up, after this runs perfectly. The bike has seen very little use over the past few years and has been stood a while unused, if this is any clue. Many thanks for any help
