hi folks i have a tank that is leaking in several places (i think) and the previous owner has masked up with some sort of resin. i havent looked at whats behind the resin so i dont no what it is like, i was just wondering if anybody has used any of the tank sealer products on the market and if so what were the results? this option would be much cheaper than sourcing and buying a new tank that might also have the same problem. thanks

Hi, my bike is an SR 125 1999 model. I notice that the cut-out safety switch attached to the sidestand is somewhat dodgey - Usually, no problem. Once, I forgot about the feature and posted a question here, only to be reminded of it. Yesterday though, it cut out as you might expect, if you're trying to get into gear with the stand down - then after that Nothing, Nada, Zilch. After some random tweaking the wires down there, I finally got a glimmer of the Neutral light - which cut out again when I tried to put the bike into gear again... Today I can seem to find no action at all Does anyone know how those switches actually work please? SO ... Is there a wa…

Sunday night when it snowed i was on my way home and the bike was fine, woke up next morning went out on the bike again and realised after 10 minutes that whenever i applied throttle the bike would simply lose power and eventually cut out, this could eithher be the reed block/ petals or my carb may be blocked. Anyone know any other ways in why it may be doing this thankyou

hi everyone. it hink i have a bit of a problem with carb icing, in normal weather the bike is fine, but if i leave it outside when im at work sometimes it will be harder to start and run very rich until it has warmed up, same happened today when i got it out of the garage and its quite inconveniant having to go out to the garage with a hairdryer and pre-heat the carb (usually does the trick) went into my local Motorist Discount and they advised me to pre-mix a little extra two stroke oil and use a little pot of Red-Ex to help stop the icing, i have now done it and it seems to have helped anyone else have these problems and how do i solve it permanently?

Hi there i was wondering if anyone can help me as my mechanical knowledge is quite basic and im unsure what to do next. I have had a few problems with this bike and recently stripped and rebuilt it (with a lot of help). All the problems seemed to be sorted out, and the bike was running ok, but I was unable to to keep it idle. Whilst trying to sort this out i stupidly lost the fuel/air adjuster on the carburettor, the bike was still running though but after giving it a ride out it stopped turning over completely. I have just now replaced the carburettor but the bike is not turning over and i am unsure of what to check/look for next. It has been stood for a few weeks no…

hi last week i started my bike fz1s , all ok got to my mates house about a mile stoped outside and the bike was reving at about 2000, on a closed throttle. so my mate without asking adjusted the little silver knob on the near side just under the tank. ticked over ok, had a little run out all ok. today went to start the bike had to open the throttle to start it & would not tick over unless throttle was opend a little. i know that its because he adjusted the tick over speed.what i dont know is why it could have revved fast in the first place. has this happened to anyone else.

Hi Guys, I've got a 2000 SR125 and I'm having a few problems with it cutting out when the throttle is opened up. When the bike is running, having been choked and warmed up, sometimes it will splutter when I open the throttle a little. If I try to really open the throttle, it usually leads to the engine cutting out completely. Can anyone point me towards what is wrong? Thanks in advance. Jamie

Has anyone fitted Yamaha hard panniers to their FZ1 Fazer (2008)? I've just fitted mine and they look great. They are big enough to accommodate full-face lids - great when going to race meetings and big enough for holidays. Some tips: 1. Don't bother paying the £70+ for lock sets that match the ignition - a non-matched set is only £25 2. Don't bother fitting the additional brake light that comes with the kit - it makes one of the great rear-ends of the bike world look truly awful (I'm probably breaking some law with regard to distance of brake light from rear of vehicle but we can only be talking a few cm's here) My only gripe is that once the indicators are f…

I am new on the forum.....and I'm afraid that although I own a ZX10r I dont own a Yamaha of any description....I do however own a set of 3HE carbs from a 600 that I'm fitting to a project car.(believe theyre 1990) What I need to know is what are the fuel pipes coming of the bottom of the float chambers for and where do they go? There is a pipe attached to each of the 2 pairs of carbs......seems odd! Can anyone help?

I know YBR's are known for their gear issues, but this is stressing me out to be honest. Had my YBR since August, it's an 08 reg but I'm the 3rd owner. It's done 4000 miles (most of those with the first owner who I didn't know) but appears to have been treated well by the second owner (serviced and new rear tyre). It does the usual thing where it won't go into 1st sometimes without me semi-releasing the clutch, pulling it back in and trying again. I've no real issues with that - it appears to be a known 'characteristic' of the bike. Main problem was that it started jumping out of 2nd into neutral (mainly when I was trying to make a entrance onto a busy ro…
