Hi All, I replaced the battery in my Radian about six weeks ago - the old one wasn't holding charge for more than a couple of days. New battery was much better; however, I haven't used the bike for 3-4 weeks. I keep it on the drive, covered up, and we have had a few cold days in that time (UK, Kent). I went to start the bike this weekend, and it was as dead as a doornail. I charged the battery for about 8 hours, but it refused to take anything except a trickle charge. I tried again today - slightly more life as the starter relay clicked. I put it back on charge and the charger meter reckoned it was taking 2 amps, so it was accepting a charge at a higher rate, which see…

My wife has recently purchased a Virago 535. Being a small lady 5ft 2 ", she is having real problems with the brake and clutch lever crank being bigger than her hand span. Is there a patterned part with a smaller crank angle avaliable for purchase, if so can someone give me a link to the site or number for shop. If not, does anyone know of a adjustable lever than is compatable with the virago. Any other hints or tips would be appreciated. Cheers Teen

Good afternoon all, I have just brought a YZF 1000 in bits and am trying to restore it or at least get it road worthy. After a couple of days trying to get her going she fired up lovely on Saturday, links below of recording: http://www.youtube.com/chalky91 However, the bike won’t move after selecting a gear. The clutch makes a noise when suppressed for about 30 seconds. Selecting gear is fine, but the bike just wont move after clutch released. Have tried bleeding the clutch cylinder and have also replaced the friction plates a few days ago. Help please.....is there a magic handbrake I need to release? Regards, Chalky

I have an electrical fault that intermittently stops the engine. I am sure the problem is in the fuse block or the wires very close to it. Does anyone know how to slide out the wires & their connections from the fuse block so that I can check for dry joints etc? There is usually a small flap of metal that sticks out on spade connectors, this can be pushed flat with a small screw driver to release the connector from its casing, but I can't see anything like that here. I do not want to damage the block or connectors 'cos that will lead to a lot of trouble and expense.

RE: Rust on exhaust Bike: Yamaha DT 125 RE (2006 reg). As many of you already know the exhaust (front and end pipe) on a DT 125 can rust very quickly. When I bought the bike a month ago with 10.000 miles it already had some rust on the exhaust. After riding for a month it's getting much worse and becoming very ugly. I don't wanna spend too much money on it (credit crunch LOL). How hard would it be to remove the exhaust from the bike and spray it in black with high temp exhaust paint shown in the following pages: http://www.adrenalin-pedstop.co.uk/p/HIGH-...PAINT-1027.aspx or http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/...tegoryId_165495 Perhaps I…

I bought an old (1982/3) Yamaha DT125R at an auction sale as a non runner. It is very bare, no lights etc. and only suitable for off roading. It had NO SPARK.! stripped & cleaned electronics (Battery seems defunkt but should not matter) now getting a weak spark but wont fire, drained Tank & Carb and fuel seems to be getting to the head (plug is damp when inspected) Could it be a timing problem or mixture.? Getting frustrated cos these machines seem V. simple to operate.!!! Been trying again this afternoon when the plug is out & earthed there is intermintent spark, but put plug back in cylinder bump start.. nothin' could it be shorting out or something.? …

Hi All, My bike is a 2007 XT660R. I have read the section on the XT660 low speed fuelling problems & "Kevs Fix" but I'm curious to know if anyone has achieved a satisfactory result from Yamaha, apart from adjusting the CO1 settings on the bikes computer which has been tried but achieved little. Also do any 2008 XT Tenere owners which as far as I know has the same engine, experience this surging problem. Cheers XT Tourer

hi folks firstly an apology for asking a question about a kawasaki, so here goes. my brother-in-law bought a gpz500 at the weekend and the guy says he uses a lead additive with the petrol?!? the bike is a '93 and was imported from france. i was just wondering why the previous owner was using the additive (it was him that brought the bike when he moved to ireland). my thoughts would be that a '93 bike should run on unleaded, i have heard of older cars running on unleaded but changing the timing angle to compensate for power loss and burnt valves, any ideas??? thanks
