Hi all, I've been riding my xj600 for a while now, despite a tapping/light knocking noise that's impossible to locate! It isn't there when the engine is cold, but get louder as the engine warms up and can be felt through the bike. It doesn't get worse under load (back brake applied and slipping the clutch), which makes me think it isn't a connecting rod or main bearing. In fact, it might even improve under load (or the noise is just damped somehow). I've been using the 'screwdriver as a stethoscope' method (I think the neighbours are wondering what on earth I'm doing) and listening to various areas. Hi i`ve solved the sticking problem but my tzr 125 just wont idle when the choke is off idles fine with the choke on though.It just keeps cutting out at a stop please could anybody give suggestions on what this could be ? thanks pete79

Hi i just wondered if anyone could help me wiv a problem i`m having with my tzr125 the revs are sticking and when the choke is on it idles fine for a few moments then will rise to near 6/7000 rpm. But wen i knock the choke off it will cut out. It is also under weight ie. click it into first go to set off. it needs a great amount of revs to do so and seems to not want to go over 8000 rpm but clutch dipped wil rev to the top. I`ve stripped and clean the carb jets no ovaling etc new plug new throttle cable and air filter not yet checked the reeds. plus the ypvs is not driven by the pully system etc how is it possible for me to manually open and close this at will ? than…

have recently bought a '94 Diversion 900 & have 2 questions could anyone give me a part no for taper steering head bearings (mine still has the balls) what is the size of the nut (across the flats) required to lock the damper in the forks so as to undo the lock bolt

Hello all, I'm new to biking and got hold of an SR125 for the right price at the right time :-) The problem that I have is that it cuts out, now I have checked all the electrical connections that I can see, cleaned (electrical contact cleaner) and replugged a few times to wipe the contacts and also had to reset the valve clearances so it is now running a lot better and even starts when warm now YAY! The inlet valve was staying open due to zero tappet clearance when cold - proved when I was trying to find TDC as I could hear air escaping on the compression stroke back through the carburettor. I have an 82 XS400-rj Seca I started out for a ride today, got about 2 miles from home and the bike started sputtering and then just shut down. Pulled off the road an started trying to diagnose the problem. First thing I noticed is that there is no electrical power to anything. Turn the key on and no headlight, no neutral indicator light, no horn, and bike wont crank. Any ideas where to start looking ? Or has anyone had this problem before that might know where to start ? I know from messing with a test light that the battery has power and that the 'Main fuse" has power getting to it. All the other fuses have no power getting to them with the key on or off. I…

Hi Yamies, Can anyone help with a bigger or better tyre that will suit the YBR125. Currently 90/90/18 standard naff tyre. Breaks away very easily in the damp not to mention wet. Or maybe it's just me. Probably not the right area to post but I'm new at this internet not to mention biking lark. Any help would be appreciated. Regards and good scratching, Dave.

Hi. I've got a little problem with my 2001 R6. I was out riding the other day and the oil warning light came on. The bike sounded like it was a bit noisy. Almost kinda sounded like the radiator fans had kicked in or something. In particular the noise sounded like it picked up when I had the bike on lean round a left hander. I got the bike home, checked the level and it seemed low so I went to get some oil. A couple of days later I've gone back to the bike and the level's fine.....even a little high The light's no longer on and I've not been out on it since Has anyone experienced anything similar or has an idea what the problem might be?

1986 FJ1200. Front brakes do not work at all. Is there any way to test the master or the calipers? I'm just about to put the bike on the road and I don't want to spend the time or money replacing parts that do not need to be replaced. Is there a chance that both calipers on each side do not work at all? Can one work without the other?

me and my mate have just bought a xj 600 1991 as a project bike and we are struggleing to find parts we wanted to know if the parts from a diversion model willl fit our model as they are basically the same bike any input welcome thanks in advance

Hi, I picked up some aluminium based grease whilst ordering some other bits from Busters, thinking as it was dirt cheap it would be handy. I was planning to use it as a general purpose lube for things like the throttle grip, centre stand etc. However now its turned up it looks like it might have more specialised uses than that, will it do any harm? Should I just have stuck to using engine oil for everything like Yamaha manual suggests? Sorry if its a daft question, there are just so many different lubes, and so many things to be lubed, it gets a bit confusing for a newbie like me.

i have a 2000 YZF R6 my front sproket is shaged out real bad! i'm fitting a new one myself! i want too down size it so i get a lil more acceleration! can anyone help please?? i would like to know the size of rear sproket i should use? and if this is a good idea?? what does it do to performance?? i know i will loose a bit of top end speed but i dont use top end on the roads (much) lol all help would much appreciated thankyou graham

Hi agai, I forgot to mention in my other request re petrol tap I would also like to convert the speedo to read miles instead of kilos there is a mph sticker on the clock but is a bit dodgy I think and not very clear.

Hi guys! New member here, just brought my first Yamaha and first bike, a lovely XT125X with barely 3,100 miles on the clock. I had a quick go on it before buying it and ran fine, and started up several times after, however coming to take it out for the first time for a serious run and while the starter ticks the engine over, it won't start. (Charged battery overnight) Looking underneath the engine there is a small transparent pipe coming from the fuel tank but seems to end unconnected. I'm pretty sure this is why I'm having problems, but cannot seem to find out where it should go. Does anyone have any pictures that I could use? Or a guide that would help me re…

Hi, just took delivery of a TRX850 (1996) which run perfectly when the dealer started it up on Friday. Tried to start it and when I took my hand off the throttle it died not to be revived. I waited until today to try and start it again as I thought that I may have flooded the engine. It still has not started. I have tried everything. Using choke. Pulling in the cluthc when starting it. Having it on the sidestand and not on the sidestand. I have even prayed to the gods for help. Has anyone god any ideas? I am going to contact the dealers tomorrow and see what they have top say.
