Right If you havent read my previous posts, heres a brief overview..... Carbs recently rebalanced along with valves refitted (in Garage for 5 weeks...long story) Got bike back...still having issues...took back to Garage, rebalanced carbs... Had bike for a week...it cut out..sent back to Garage. They adjusted the mixture to be a little bit richer..seems ok, but told me it may need dyno'd. Idles up and down still and bogs down after 120 mph... Due to load bearing or something when setting up....as they say! Anyway... When I got bike back from the last visit from Garage, I changed HT leads, stripped bike and gave it a good clean... Now!.. When bike starts …

  3. Hey all, I'm new to the site and I just got a DT100 for my girlfriend. It starts up great, one or two kicks. But I have to keep the choke just a little bit on to keep it idling. Also, when it's idling if i rock it left to right it stalls. I've already taken the carb apart and cleaned it. I've tried a bunch of different settings with the throttle stop and pilot air screw. I've noticed that maybe my pilot air screw doesn't come out as far as it should, it seems like some of the threads are stripped out, but I can't see why it would need more pilot air anyway if I have to choke it already. I'd like two things: -First, if anyone has any ideas about why it stalls …

Hi guys, New to the forum and looking for some help. I have a 1992 XJ600 (US model) that will not start. It has been running fine all summer, then I got caught in a heavy rain storm. After that, I parked the bike for a few days, when I tried to start it again, it wouldn't fire up. I was able to jump start it with my car, and it runs fine. If I ran it for a while, shut it off, then tried to fire it up right away, it would start, but if I let if sit for a while (1 hour or more) it would not start. I had a similar problem last summer as well (soon after I bought the bike) and replaced the battery, the problem went away until now. I have been working on the assum…

I have a 1995 xj600n which is a import I was told. After recently trying to change my rear brake pipe the bleed valves sheared off when I was trying to open them. I found another rear caliper on ebay but its from a 1991 xj600, (on its way) does anybody know if this will fit? when I managed to drill out the bleed valves I was wanting to strip down the caliper and service it, the piston(s) look a bit shot. I read reviews that the xj600 rear brakes are a problem waiting to happen ie. they often pack in or seize up. when I look in the manual it shows only 1 piston for the rear caliper, but when I look at the caliper there looks like there are 2, 1 on each side. is…

Hey all. I just bought a 1995 FZR600 and I've noticed that the clutch tends to slip when you get on the throttle harder in 3,4,5 gear. If you're accelerating normally and fast it's fine but when you throw it down it slips. I just got the oil changed today (Yamalube 20w-50) and it's still slipping. The clutch cable is set up to engage pretty late so I'm going to adjust the cable to engage midway and give it some slack. The bike needs a new fork seal and with this clutch thing, I'm assuming wheelies were done with this bike. It might just be the weather too. When I test drove it, it was in the 60's but I'm not sure how hard I pushed the bike. Today I rode it all over but it…

hi, i have a 1998 yzf750 sp, im lookin into fitting a extended swinging arm as i use the bike for 1/4 mileing. i was wondering if the early r1 arm is the same, the bracing and the chain sliders look identical but wasnt sure about mounting hole dimensions etc. i know the r1 runs a 190 section tyre where mine is a 180, will my wheel just slot in? im looking for this info as i think i have more chance of finding an r1 extended arm on ebay than the a yzf type, i dont want to spend 750 quid on a jmc item if i dont have to. tightass any help much appreciated.

Hello all, New member here, so please go easy on me! I have a technical problem that I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction on. I have a 56 plate XT125X which I use to commute on (around 100 miles a week) It's done almost 10,000 Kilometres without much hassle but recently I have had a nightmare with the back brakes. it started when the rear brake continued to apply itself after i had taken my foot off the brake. I took it to the garage (authorised Yamaha dealer) and they said it looked like the seal had gone on the rear calliper. it took 2 weeks to order in the parts from Holland (a whole new calliper and disk set costing a lot! - apparently they…

Trying to split engine case and not having any luck. One end seems ready to split but the other end is hard and fast. Cannot locate any hidden screws or other items that would hold the cases together. Manual state that most of the inner bearings and gears should remain with the left side case and split relatively easily. Is there anyone with experience in this area that could offer advice. A puller could be fabricated but there seems to be something to unscrew or release that would let the cases separate. Manual just states "rap on shaft with rubber mallet?" Meade

I just cleaned, rebuilt, and synchronized the carbs for my xj550. Whoever got their hands into those carbs, previously did a real dandy. The air/fuel mixture screw seals were already drilled out and reset to... get this... #1 carb was 3 turns out, #2 and #3 were 3 1/2 turns out, and the #4 was 2 1/2 turns out. I almost never mess with the manufacturer setting on those and just gave a wild guess on how many turns and know I am way off. I have them all turned 3 turns out. But it is running rich and my RPMs hang bad around 3000. They are cleaned and rebuilt now, and balanced. Idles and runs nice all except for the rpms hanging high. No air or vacuum leaks at all. Does an…

Just bought 1977 TY 250 engine number 493-200477. My Clymer manual for DT/MX bikes 1977 to 1983 doesn't list any numbers that look like this one. Also the pictures of the 2 stroke singles don't seem to match mine. I would like to know if this engine is a hybrid or is it the same as the DT250 series and if there is a manual out there for the TY series. Meade
