Hi all, I have a problem with my throttle on my 125. It's only got 700 miles on it. When it's hot it idles great. As soon as I twist the throttle it dips before going up, but if I put the choke half on the idle is low but it doesn't dip. Any help appreciated.

Hi Troops, Having a wee spell of bad luck here,Got a puncture on sunday and stripped the wheel off yesterday rim scrubbed down, new rim tape and new tube, while all this was happening my mate knocked the bike over and the mirror got broken,so i tried to unscrew the stock with a view to replacing either the glass or the whole unit, well its a steel stock into alloy fitting and youve guessed it,the bloody thing snapped clean off.Any ideas on the best way to get the remains out?I have a set of easy outs but it must be tight in there to snap off.is the metal on these things hard or will it drill ok? any help appreciated, cheers.

Hi There I wonder if anyone can throw some light on to why false neutrals happen. I an still a learner and have had a lot of these recently. I had the bike (YBR 125) serviced and last week had the chain tightened. I had a bad one tonight, nerely went over the handle bars, wobbled all over the shop AND sounded my horn just to draw attention to myself. I have learned not to panick when this happens but I feel they are too frequent. It only happens when go from first to second it could be that I'm to light with the shift. Any ideas? Cheers

Just bought a mint 1986 RAdian. Fun & runs great. Looking to use as a daily commuter to & from work & need somewhere to put stuff. Anyone have bags or trunk on. I would prefer a lockable trunk but all require a luggage rack to attach to. Any info would be helpful...don't want to back pack it!

My '77 xs360 idles normally when i first get it started but has very little torque/power when I ride. After about 20 mins of riding something happens, usually sounds like a large backfire, and the bike starts running very well with a lot more torque. However, when this happens the bike idles at about 3500 rpm. Any ideas what's going on here? I am a complete n00b, this is my first bike.

Hi Guys, Now that I've got a bit more used to newly aquired XJ600 after my 20 years retirement, I've been giving her a bit more jip round the windy bends. I've noticed I get a tingly vibe around the 5-6000k mark and the performance drops off if I go much higher. In real terms it's not a drag 'cos that still gives me a healthy 80-90mph on the straight and plenty to of pulling power under this to play with. But there's no real power-band as such. (Yes, I know it's an XJ, they weren't built with one. Old joke still very funny). I'm reluctant to set about a carb strip and valve check while the weather is so good, but if I take it to a rolling road dyno centre will…

Hi all, I have a 1980 Chappy LB50 with 3500 miles on it. The bike runs good and idles fine. MY issue is that when I run it at open throttle it will run fine for 200 yards or so, reaching 25-27mph then the engine looses power, speed drops to 22mph or so. the engine feels like it has no fuel, it will drop RPM then PICK up again, DRoP and pickup. If I slow down and let the engine idle then go open throttle, it will again GO strong for 200 yards then do the same thing. A little background. This bike was running fine a few weeks ago but it had a problem were it would dump all the fuel out the air filter when left parked in the garage. I go the idea that maybe the f…

Help wanted, my dt ticks over too high. Have set the static ignition timing. After a certain point, decreasing/ taking out the tickover screw makes no difference; screwing it in does increase the idle speed though. Have set the air screw. The jet needle is the standard 3 notches down from the top. The carb is a 3U500, ie model 4J4. I have no air filter element (but I do have an airbox fitted) I'm wondering if I have a dodgey aftermarket cable as my oil pump markings are well out. The identification markings on the metal pulley are 3JO. There are a few markings on the pulley itself, but with the cable removed the dot and dash markings line up with the pin on the pulley,…

So yesterday I was trying to take it off to check on the stator coil. I removed the 3 bolts and tried to take it off. However, the bottom on the cover seemed to be really stuck. It felt like something was glued/ connected behind it. I didn't want to destroy it so I just bolted it back on. I am just wonder if I have to ply it out/ use more force to take it off.

I wonder if someone can help me, i have just bought a Yamaha DT175, its a 1978 engine. The bike had been stripped for offroad/green lane use, so no oil pump. The previous owner told me that he mixed the ratio at 40:1. I run it on Castrol TTS at the moment, does anyone know if this ratio is correct? Someone had spent a lot of time on it and done work to it on both engine and frame, the reason im asking is because im not familiar with two strokes & it may sound stupid but the pistons sound dry when its running. Is this normal? I have not used the bike properly yet, I bought it in the winter and have been working on it myself and obviously concerned about the mixture …

hi guys, i have an 07 R1. the problem is that when i start it up from cold it wont tick-over,i have to rev it to keep it running, if i do take my hand off the throttle it just dies. but it is ok when warm. i have had the dealer put a new battery on, and they said that they have checked it and it seems ok. but it is not.I thought it might be the fast idle playing up. any advice would be very helpful guys.

ok here we go i bought a dragstar xvs 125 twin second hand with just over 15000 on the clock i passed my cbt the other day so went to work on her today, all was fine but i was not happy with the bite point on the clutch, so i adjusted it to how i felt it was right all was OK up and down the road gear change was nice and smooth, so great job sorted, now here here comes the ???????, i left her to stand while i did some work, then while things were a bit slack i thought i would have a play with her so i started her up put her in first then went to put her in neutral and she would not go in also if i let out the clutch and then pulled it back in she would still creep …

I brought a j reg yamha dt125r For 550. It was in good condtion cosmeticly with a dep exahust sytem. 30miles after riding it, it just cut out Took the head off and was told to replace the piston but it wasn't seized. I was also told to get it running and sell or rebuild the engine because soon it would need a new big end baring. I left the bike dry stored for a week and now the conrod wont move up and down and part of the crank ( the big cricle things beside the conrod have flat spots on them and feel slightly bumpy. My question is what is wrong with my bike. Should I fix it or sell it as a non-runner (I can get the engine spilt ext without taking it to a garridge). How m…

Hey folks, My DT125 has sounded pretty weird for the last couple of days and this morning it was a nice smoky 2-stroke start and i noticed smoking coming out from underneath the bike. Turns out theres a split in my DEP downpipe which was already fairly corroded (thanks to the previous owner, rather than me). So what can I do? Its a split rather than a hole, so can it be welded? Or is that not possible if its rusted? Dont really want to have to buy a new downpipe because that'd be over 150 quid! Cheers guys! James
