  1. I have a 1977 XS 400 engine which starts and runs fine, but is missing whatever operates the clutch. Visible protruding on the left side of the engine is what appears to be a pushrod. It rotates freely, and can be pulled from the case. I purchased a factory manual, but am still unable to ascertain what's missing that disengages the clutch. Any info, or photos which might provide me with a clue as to how to restore clutch operation, will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  3. Ahoy there, I'm having trouble finding out the dimensions of the Virago-frame, more specificly the part underneath the tank (larger models XV1000/XV1100). Am looking to change the tank of my XV 1000 SE (older model - not identical to Virago), and so I need some information for comparison. I can't seem to find any useful subjects on GaZoogle, so I hope someone in here hears my cry for help Cheers, Jebber Denmark

Hey guys, Just got a 1990 Radian 600, (86 miles, yes that's eighty-six baby) can anyone refer me to a thread or site to get info on a swing arm mod to fit a bigger wheel/tire? Done it before on my katana and csr but I'm having trouble finding a compatible arm swap or site to buy the mod outright. Thanks.

Removed the rear hub recently (Dragstar 650) to renew an oil seal and noticed that the splines on the bevel gear were very badly worn/damaged. I asked my local dealer about replacement parts. He made enquiries and was horrified to learn that gears are not supplied separately and the entire unit has to be replaced. Cost? Wait for it - £1200! Yamaha Motors UK said that 60000 miles was a reasonable life expectancy for the assembly. Any thoughts/advice? Chrisr

Hello All. Hope all are well. Does anyone know the size of the spacer used on the RSX100 bike. I had to fit rsx forks as no RS forks available. Difference is the spacer is clamped at the end of the RS forks and the RSX sits between the fork and the wheel hub. If I could find the original spacer I could work it out or cut it down to size or make one up. Regards CRaig and Rachel

I have an SR125 which has been a poor runner for a few years but recently has become unbearable. It either starts first time or not at all on the electric start, it usually just turns over and almost sounds like its trying to backfire. It can be started much more easily by bump starting which often works straight away. Once running it cant make up its mind how to run, it will go for a couple of miles running fine and I can cruise up to 60mph then it will loose all power for a few miles and I cant get above 25mph on level ground, if its being really awkward it will be even more intermittent and I will bunny hop down the street. I’ve cleaned the carburettor and checked th…

I have an '07 V Star that I'm going to be riding from AZ to OH at the end of May. I think that a throttle lock would be a nice addition to make the ride more comfortable. Just wondering if anyone has used a throttle lock on the same bike, what kind they used, and if it works or not. I don't want to end up wasting my money on one that is shoddy. Thanks.

Hi there, Wondered if anyone would mind helping out an absolute amateur with a fuel leak in my 1992 xj600 diversion please? Having drained my fuel tank because of having to put it on the back of a Pickfords lorry I have found having re fueled and used various various vacuum's to get the fuel flowing again that I got it started! much to my surprise lol.. However, having stood in my garage for a day that it smelt very strongly of fuel. Upon inspection I've found that there is a v slow drip leak from what I think is where a breather pipe is supposed to fit!? There's nothing attached to it though, worryingly?! I'm scared of riding it for fear of catching light.. The…

The garage reckons the rectifier on my YBR125 is knackered, as it's been blowing fuses and now they say the headlight's gone as well. I've found some rectifiers for about 40 quid, but does anybody know where it's located on the bike or how easy it is to fit? It seems to have screw holes in the part, would any tools be required?

I own a 1986 YX600 Radian. I've cleaned the carburetors and need to preset the pilot screw. I've checked the Clymer manual and also the official Yamaha Service Manual but cannot find what the adjustment is. In both books, I can only find the statement that it is preset at the factory and should not be adjusted. Need to get back on the road so if someone could respond quickly it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mark
