Hi all, I am shortly replacing both sets of front brake pads on my 2003 Yamaha XJR1300, I'm not sure what make are currently fitted but I have noticed in the short time I have owned her they are noisy and although the bike stops well enough, I feel it could do alot better. I just wanted to throw out the question and pick your brains & draw on your experience because there are many known brands / manufacturers out there, some well known like Brembo, EBC, Gold Fren, Ferodo, Vesrah etc, and some not so well known. Once you have chosen a manufacturer, then you have to choose the compound, HH, Sintered, Carbon, Ceramic etc. What a mine field this is, so you see y…

Hi all, I have a 1990 Fj1200A The problem came around the other week. When riding along I got a sudden whiff of petrol (actually so much I thought I left the fuel cap off) Anyway it turned out to be pissing all its fuel out. No big deal I thought, maybe just stuck floats!! NO!! Two weeks later same scenario I had the fuel tank re sealed and cleaned along with the carbs and new filters and pipes put on. Once again a week later same fault!! I have now had all the rubbers changed and the fuel pump as well!! NOPE STILL DID NOT CURE IT Now Im thinking about converting to gravity feed to rule out the fuel pump (unless anybody has one I could try) Any tips on this …

Has anyone else had this issue in north america i'm pretty disappointed with yamaha's customer service. My 2003 R6 had been having throttle problems it had become unstable and would cut on me. I had it in to two different shops to have it checked out and the finally figured out it was the tps sensore. Now it's on back order so what i'm asking is does anyone know of this being a problem that yamaha is ignoring and should be recalling?

I've been renovating my XJ600 and at the point where it's all connected and ready to go. I tried starting it but there's no fuel getting through to the carbs. I thought it was a vacuum fuel pump problem but I've managed to replace this with an electric pump. Now I'm thinking it's the fuel tap but not sure why it's stopped working. There doesn't appear to be much fuel getting to the fuel filter. The vacuum pipe is connected correctly. Anymore ideas please?

Hi everyone, I am a brand new member to this forum and I have a question about a 1982 Seca 400. I have had this bike sitting in my garage for almost 10 years and I finally decided to get it going again this year. I sent the tank to a repair shop that specializes in repairing and coating the inside and outside of gas tanks with a poly-uria coating. I changed all of the wheel bearings, rebuilt the front brake master cylinder and caliper, put new pads on the front, new drums on the back, had 2 new tires installed and balanced, bought a new battery, changed the oil, filter, spark plugs and repainted several parts of the bike. The bike was running fine when I put it a…

Hi Yamaha gurus, I've just taken my new Midnight Star XVS950A for its first ride (bought it three days ago and am totally in love with it already)... and while cleaning it afterwards, I see a grey rubber tube dangling out in front of the motor. It runs upwards on the front frame, into some small valve or filter, and then disappears somewhere in the cavity under the fuel tank. I don't remember seeing that tube when I bought the bike, nor can I find anything about it in the manuals, but I also can't find any pipe or nozzle where it might have slipped off. It smells faintly of fuel, so I think it might be some kind of fuel tank overfill pipe, but even then would I not w…
