I have been having a go at getting an old V50P going (see projects) - well it was going when I took it apart!! What have I done: I have replaced the piston, changed the original fuel tap for a on off type - this has a slightly smaller outlet than the original. replaced the points and set the timing. put on new exhaust. The problem is that it works fine in first gear but has no power at all above 10mph or up hills - basically wont go in 2nd or third. The clutch is OK. Any ideas as to the problem. Ta KAYOS.

For a simple 125 carburettor, how come its got wires, pumps, and tonnes of leads? I dont get it, I look down the intake of the carb, and I twist the throttle, the air slider valve dont move? Is there more to this carb then a simple couple of jets and a slider? How does the slider valve move? Either my carb is knackered or this thing is complex Ta?

I have an aerox yq100 with terrible looking plastics, there must be a scuff on every single one, just wondering what I could do with them? could I spray them and actually get a good finish with spray cans? or would it be possible to vinyl wrap them? I know that you may just be thinking why I don't replace them but Im a student and therefore have barely any cash! so what do you think?

I am in the process of restoring an '83 DT125MX. I've changed the barrel, and have fitted 175 barrel. The next process is to send the frame off to be powder coated etc.. My wheels are OK. The chrome will clean up, but the spokes for both front and rear are gash, and to do a mint restoration, both wheels need to be rebuilt with stainless spokes which is something I will admit is beyond the scope of my capabilities. This brings me to the next question. I won't use bike off road, and therefore will be looking to fit road biased trail tyres anyway (I guess find enduro style tyres for a 21 inch wheel is a no no), however I have been thinking recently about fitting Endu…

My t80 has got a ratterly cam chain I adjusted and then 2 days later it's slack again the engines only 12,400 miles and don't think it needs changing. Some body told the adjuster screw could need replacing and then give the adjuster spring a slight stretch to sort, does this sound right

I came across this while doing some research. It may be helpful to someone. Relates to UK NGK spark plugs. Use at your own risk. It may be useful for cross referencing

Hello all, I would like to ask for your infinate knowledge, I have Been doing up a TZR 50 2003 model, I have done everything bar touch the engine. it runs well on idle but makes no power at low RPM - anything below 9000 and it is so slugish. 9000 to the 12000 redline it is not a problem pulls like mad...(for a 50cc). Any suggestions would be grateful, as I would like some pointers before I get stuck in. The engine is the AM6 type. Thank you in advance Steve

Anyone on here had problems with lost gears, or gear shifter not finding all the gears? It happened while riding along at maybe 50kms. The gear shift came loose, the circlip came loose and the shift may of moved in the in or out direction. (Not sure) But i put it back on and now this: My bike is now neutral when shifter is all the way down, and i have only 3 gears, maybe 2, 3 and 4. Not completely sure. It didn't make any noise when it happened or even now. It sounds ok, but gears not right. Please advise. Here is bike:

Hi, I know this has been talked about before, and they are in short supply, but I have a Dragstar that runs off one carb to 2 cylinders. Its carb to head rubber that splits off into 2 has split in the middle, giving it a leak, it was ok for a bit but now wont even start, obvs I need a new rubber.. Question is, I've scowered the wasteland and Ive found some for the virago, but they aint that clear on what it will fit, so, will the viragos carb to head rubber fit the Dragstar? If so I'll be able to get my bike running Thanks in advance.

Ive just fitted some heated grips to my 1999 FZS600, went about a mile up the road and got a missfire. Rode back home and it seems cyl 4 is not as warm as the others. I took the tps off and put the ign on and the needle went up to 3000 then zero and then 3000 and keeps doing this every couple of seconds. Any idea what this may mean?
