Has anyone tried these? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LED-Hand-guards-Integrated-Indicators-Suitable-For-Yamaha-XJ6-XJ6N-/181060025101?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item2a2804bb0d Was thinking about the Acerbis Dual Road handguards but thought these might be a suitable (and cheaper) alternative? Less concerned about crash protection, more worried about keeping my paws a bit warmer

Firstly hello again! Been a year or so since ive been on here, recent purchase of new bike has brought me back I have a quick question. Ive bought a 1988 fzr400. According to the DVLA etc it is the RR SP, but im under the impression that the rr sp was only in production on the 1992 above models? And a search of the internet only seemed to confirm this. Am I wrong? It certainly feels like it has the longer first gear and close ratio box. Can anybody shed some light? Cheers, will.

Hi All Have posted this in the newbie forum but thought it best to post here as well to get some replies. I have just bought my first Virago XV 125cc. Don't know the age of it as it is on French plates, the chap I bought it from bought it in France when he lived there, he bought it in Dec, 2000 and brought it to the UK in 2001, when it arrived here in the UK it started to have a miss fire problem, only running on 1 cylinder and the garage he took it to could not find the prob, they changed the carb, ( the old card is in bits in a bag) looks like the have put new carb, rubber flanges on, new plugs etc, but with no success, so they gave up as it was starting to…

Basingstoke council have started resurfacing some of the roads in and around the town. One of them is a road I have to take to work every morning. Going along this stretch of road this morning doing bugger all mph cos the road's covered with 'loose shit', along with all the other rush hour traffic, a bastard in a white van comes along overtaking everyone at 60mph shot blasting all the other traffic with said loose shit. Got to work and just about to put the lock on the Beast when I noticed a chip in the tank paintwork that I only sprayed two weeks ago. If I could have got my hands on him I'd be doing time now. Plain white van so no company to complain to …

Hi Guys, Just one question. I'm installing a new crankshaft oil seal (L and R) on my yamaha DT 400 1978, but I'm not quite sure which way of the seal faces inwards. You have a open side which shows the metal ring and the other side is the closed side. The rubber with the markings stamped on them with the castellations. Should the open or closed side facing inwards ? In other words, installing like this: Or like this: The last couple of days I've heard several opinions. So who knows the correct way of installing these suckers ?

So was speaking to one of my aunties borthers at the weekend, and as per got onto talking about bikes. was sayign that i had an sv but was looking for something else, and turns out he's selling a Thundercat! went and had a look at it and its clean, has service history and would get taxed and tested prior to sale. asking for 1400, and the insurance is less than my SV, despite the jump in horsepower, guessing because of the "Sport Touring" classification? can mind what year is it, only had a quick look - going back for a proper look and test this weekend. whats your thoughts on this bike?

Hey everyone, so its been years in the coming but me and a few friends have finally planned a trip across the pond to France. Going to be getting the Ferry across from Plymouth to Roscoff, and then spending 3 days riding down the west coast to Biarrtz, then back up to Roscoff. Anyhow this is where we are looking for some help, we have only planned as much as we are starting at Roscoff and Ending in Biarrtz. Has anyone ridden in this area before and have any must see / must ride places we should aim for? If we have time we would like to ride into the Pyrenees too.

Hi all.hopefully this is posted in the right section. How about this then as follows I had 2 new maxi diamond supermax tyres put on bike last week by a local dealer/shop and been using the bike up until now and I thought to my self as I have all the tools for the job I would check my balance on both wheels only to find the front was well out and the rear was not even balanced at all and above all the front wheel was not even tight as I could undo the pinch bolt near the front folks with my fingers how scary is that.as all well and good now and sorted but just a note to say check this your self as well as you never know. I suppose I was a lucky one this never came to an ac…

I have an older RT 180, I'm not sure what the exact date is, and it recently stopped shifting. I haven't ridden it in several years and had to do some work on the clutch and the internal shift mechanism was rusted a little bit. When I left for college my dad didn't store it properly and water got into the housing, After cleaning it all out and replacing broken parts, gaskets, old oil etc. the bike ran decently for a few days. It would randomly downshift a few times but the more I rode it the less it malfunctioned. I was riding with a friend on the back and as soon as we both were on the bike it wouldn't shift after that. When I move the pedal, it clicks and feels like it'…

Hello every one. I'm hoping you Gentlemen (and Ladies) can advise me? I'm thinking of buying a new Fazer 1000, so I'm looking for any owner advise. Stuff like how they ride, reliability issues, fuelling; which I understand may be a problem, etc etc ........... I'm not a youngster so unlikely to make the most of the performance, but I do like the look of the bike. Many thanks in advance. STEVE.................

So 4 riders per team seem to be on the cards? There was talks of Stoner coming back, surely itl happen now. Also this must mean a factory Yamaha for Cal and surely something for Redding? http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/motorcycling-motogp-allow-four-riders-per-team-143524045.html Interesting how Honda manage to make things work to help themselves again, I didnt realise it was so obvious until I read the thread about no more 2T bikes.

Ok I admit it, it was me, I noticed a strange clunk when out the other day and it only happened when I leaned into a corner, didn't think to much about it but I was getting worse all the time and giving some odd handling, sort of rolled into the corner and then flopped over a couple of inches half way through, bit scary actually, so was checking the oil and happened to look up under the handle bars and would you believe it NO BOLTS IN THE TOP of the head stock!!!!!! Both bolts gone AWOL and of course the forks were wobbling about all over the place, a lot of swearing later about useless bloody Japanese crap when it occurred to me that I had not checked the bike out over t…
