Out today clutch cable snapped in third gear, I was like WTF. I couldnt slow down as would stall, I couldnt stop to push the bike because I was in gear. So I had to keep the bike running to the garage, went through 5 sets of red lights, 1 set right outside the police station lol What would you have done? Also the garage tightened it 3 days ago, was he the cause? Did he do it too tight? Is this a common thing? Do clutch cables need replacing regularly? Not best pleased.

So riding to work this morning and a sneaky bugger decided to fly in under my helmet! In a car, the missus panics cos she can't see where it is. This morning I could see it very clearly sat on my nose at 50mph!! Slowed down to 30 and lifted the visor and the little shit then sat on my eyebrow. Talk about adrenalin rush as I stop the bike and remove my lid! I had 2 bikers stop and ask if I was alright one a yammy, the other a BMW! Can you believe it? A BMW rider actually stopping and caring???? Luckily at o' Christ hundred hours there were hardly any cars out. Anybody else had issues with wasps in their helmet?

I've only owned my yamaha fz6 for a year and a half, and before that an XC diversion for another year and half. Being a Yama owner for 3 years (the entirety of my riding time) I'm afraid to say I'm going to defect. I've had three years of sensible bikes and now I want something more of toy than before. After test riding a new Ktm duke 690 for an afternoon and finding a great offer at my local dealer I have decided to bite the bullet Not to worry though, I am still I keen biker and pro Yama so I won't be leaving this great community How many others have defected / come back?

Hi. Bit of advice required if anyone can help. My near side rear indicator isn't flashing with full power and when it's on the tail light slightly pulses. Does it indicate (pun not intended) a short somewhere or is it just an under charged battery. I'm still waiting for a 6 volt charger which hopefully will be with me by middle of this week.

Many thanks to the responses on the previous post. I had the battery tested and the cell reading was bad. so replaced with a quality new one but still refusing to spin up the starter. I was going to bridge the starter relay terminals with a quick dab with a screw driver but 2 nuts on the side panel are solid and wont shift. soaked with wd40 and keft for few hours but still wont budge. So might just as well take a chance and replace the starter motor. Will post an update in due course. Ride safe Phil

Anyone know how to check the turbo is working and anyone know how to check the boost gauge as my boost gauge reads nothing so am unsure if the turbo/connections are ok. She has been rebuilt 21 months away, cost loads and now not sure what is wrong with the gauge. Having to use a fair bit of throttle with gear 1-2, maybe it is because of the engine rebuild or poor petrol etc. So if anyone has any ideas?

Hello all, just charged the battery two days ago and it's gone flat again. I did a four mile trip stopped for five minutes and it just would not start. Kind of hopeing the battery is knackered and not anything else, although it seemed to charge ok on Sunday. Any thoughts would be greatly received.

Has anyone tried these? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LED-Hand-guards-Integrated-Indicators-Suitable-For-Yamaha-XJ6-XJ6N-/181060025101?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item2a2804bb0d Was thinking about the Acerbis Dual Road handguards but thought these might be a suitable (and cheaper) alternative? Less concerned about crash protection, more worried about keeping my paws a bit warmer

Firstly hello again! Been a year or so since ive been on here, recent purchase of new bike has brought me back I have a quick question. Ive bought a 1988 fzr400. According to the DVLA etc it is the RR SP, but im under the impression that the rr sp was only in production on the 1992 above models? And a search of the internet only seemed to confirm this. Am I wrong? It certainly feels like it has the longer first gear and close ratio box. Can anybody shed some light? Cheers, will.

Hi All Have posted this in the newbie forum but thought it best to post here as well to get some replies. I have just bought my first Virago XV 125cc. Don't know the age of it as it is on French plates, the chap I bought it from bought it in France when he lived there, he bought it in Dec, 2000 and brought it to the UK in 2001, when it arrived here in the UK it started to have a miss fire problem, only running on 1 cylinder and the garage he took it to could not find the prob, they changed the carb, ( the old card is in bits in a bag) looks like the have put new carb, rubber flanges on, new plugs etc, but with no success, so they gave up as it was starting to…

Basingstoke council have started resurfacing some of the roads in and around the town. One of them is a road I have to take to work every morning. Going along this stretch of road this morning doing bugger all mph cos the road's covered with 'loose shit', along with all the other rush hour traffic, a bastard in a white van comes along overtaking everyone at 60mph shot blasting all the other traffic with said loose shit. Got to work and just about to put the lock on the Beast when I noticed a chip in the tank paintwork that I only sprayed two weeks ago. If I could have got my hands on him I'd be doing time now. Plain white van so no company to complain to …
