Well peeps i finally got round to changing the yokes on the FUCR (cheers again , Tommy!) but they dont fit! thats the last time i trust a google search for advice..., i need a set of top yokes with 36mm stanchions, 185mm between the stanchion centres and a 63mm offset, the XS ones Tommy donated are more like 55 offset (stupid me should have checked...) . does anyone know which bike has yokes that fit the above description?, also the stem on the XZ frame is quite long, and fitting a whole different set of yokes is going to be a pain in the ass ,

Hi folks, I am thinking of doing the CBT this summer and getting myself a little 125 cruiser. I'm really drawn to the dragstar 125. I'm 5'7"/5'8" never really driven a motorbike in my life and will only be using for nice weekend rides and things like that. I would appreciate any input by owners/previous owners and just anyone who has any knowledge of the bike. Thanks in advance

Heya, Been offered an FJ1200. Just wondering what opinions people had of this thing? Handling, performance, maintenance, general daily use, etc? Anything specific to watch out for? Thanks, Tasky.

  5. 1998 Mk 1 Red 34,000 miles. T&T. Just not being used. 100% reliable. New Bridgestone tyres. New front wheel bearings. New brake pads all round. Newish Yuasa battery. Bad bits (there's always some!). The speedo has stopped working, probably I have refitted the speedo-drive incorrectly after the tyre change. The bodywork is a bit shabby, plastics not holed at all but some scratches. £850 Saw this ad - no photo, anybody got any experience with these please?

Having fitted some Dr Bike heated grips to my last bike (a definite plus in our British climes for year round riding - especially at my age!) I'm wanting to get some heated grips fitted to my bike before I pick it up next week and haven't been able to find any reviews on the Yamaha ones as they just seem to be a bit 'neater' than the Dr Bike ones (if not x3 more expensive!) Any feedback would be greatly appreciated cheers David

It seemed like a good idea at the time. Non runner, if I can get it to run using the parts I have laying around I will put an MOT on it and flog it, otherwise. I'm gonna break it.

  18. I'm reading David Blume's "Alcohol Can Be A Gas: Fueling an Ethanol Revolution for the 21st Century" and the chapters on small utility engines, two-strokes, and motorcycle engines got me thinking. What are the major performance differences? (For starters. . .) It seems like someone with a good understanding of jetting and tuning could adjust for the octane differences, etc. and go off the grid with their fuel AND their WHISKEY! I'll try to put up a few of Blume's findings from some experiments a little later, but for now, I just thought I'd see if anyone had any good stories or experiences running their bikes on alcohol or other biofuels. Anybody ever have to g…

  19. Has any one ever had a Yamaha 600 Thundercat and what do you think of them ? The only reason I asked is when I asked the wife what she liked and all the bikes I liked she didn't lol she likes the look of a Kawasaki zx7 but I think I would have to be riding a bit longer for one of those ! but I do look the look of the Thundercat and I have had a look online and from what I could find it looks a pretty good bike but they aren't brand new which I'm not bothered about and there reasonably price at about a grand and a half for a decent looking bike, and if I dropped it I wouldn't cry as much as dropping a brand new bike which would be a fair few more grand and a trip to …

Hi Everyone my Son has just bought his first bike at the age of 20 yrs old. Me being his Dad at 45yrs old. We both did our CBT last Sunday and both have no experience. What we have both noticed that when changing up a gear we are both finding it hard to get our boots under the gear lever. So I removed the lever and moved up as little as I could, but now the lever is marking the engine. Can we buy a new lever that sticks out a little more than the original to stop it marking the engine ? Hope this makes sense to somebody. Cheers new rider Steve
