Question please. Previously (for 11yrs) I had a 1980 Yaaha XV750SE originally a Jap market one. Now I have a 1981 Yamaha XV750 but is it a SE or H? How to tell please. Log book does not say. It is from the USA. What is the difference between the models? Only difference I have seen is that my Jap market one had a red light come on at 50mph and a Kilo speedo. But thinking about when buying spares, anything to look out for? Baby's nappy weather here in west Kent today, wet and windy.

Gents, Ok so now I have this machine that can do (supposedly) 140 MPH and on a weekly basis I'm now working a few days a week in Brixham so have 80 miles to cover to get there. A30 to Bodmin and A38 through Plymouth and beyond. I like going fast like the next man and certainly the A30 from Bodmin to Truro is pretty much deserted after 7PM on a Thursday. Once again last week cruising at 160 Kph (100 Mph) sustained is good going and pretty pleasant on the FJ. So on a straight and quiet stretch ...... ok lets see what this thing can do ...... but at 190 (195) Kph/118 Mph the influence of the wind just gets too much and uncomfortable and starts bobbing your …

anyone watch that programme "naked speed"? its a follow on from cafe racer and they highlighted 2 builders. Made In Metal in Stafford and some American builder (which did really well) the MIM one was a total knob, he had a spotless BSA DBD34 Goldie and cut it up to make the worst looking bobber in the world. the owner lives in Lymm so I'm going to hunt him down and shit in his garden. I can't even find a picture, it's that bad

FJR was just too good all-round, so decided to get rid and get back to basics with an old school beast. 1981 XS1100 Midnight Special. Bought her from an enthusiast who looked after her very well. I hope to do him justice, but at the same time this bike is going to get RIDDEN.

So the bike was due a service and I knew the rear pads needed changing so I thought I'd change pads myself, a nice easy job that I could manage. I tried to work out for a few days how to change them and I couldn't so when I booked the for a service the guy looked at the caliper and told me the rear wheel needs to be removed before they can be accessed. A bit strange and a silly design I thought, anyway took my bike for the service first thing Monday morning. The guy said would be ready around 2 in the afternoon. Get's to the afternoon and I get a phone call, brilliant my bikes ready! Errr no!The guy tells me that someone has snapped an allen key or something in the nu…

Hi guys I'm a little giddy at the moment after passing my Mod 1 yesterday on a Suzuki Gladius (really dislike the feel of these bikes... cruisers all the way!), and booked in for my mod 2 next Wednesday I have 4 years experience riding on the road with my trusty work pony the YBR125 for the past two years, and before that a yamaha DT80. I am a confident and controlled rider, not interested in speeding and learned not to make silly risks & mistakes the hard way during my teen years (now 31) I have my eye on the XVS1300. the size of it and everything appeals .... but I'm uncertain if this is a wise choice and I should start off with the 950. Il be buying new so…

Greetings, I recently moved to the UK from Spain and brought over my scooter, a 2007 X-Max 250. It's been a member of the family for six years, so selling or leaving it behind wasn't an option. Shortly after the arrival it was serviced and MOT'ed with no issues, but as I was preparing the documents for DVLA, it turned out I don't have the motor number. I've gone through the service manual and didn't see any indication of where to look for it. I then spent about half an hour kneeling in various positions, then took the whole seat unit off to get a better look, but still wasn't able to find an identification plate or stamp to give me this data. I also don't know the…

Dropped the bike off for a service and MOT early this morning with to intention of walking into town and getting some breakfast then do a bit of shopping, while standing there in the shopping mall trying to decide which of the many food bars to use I'm patting down my pockets looking for my wallet, bollocks it wasn't there, I'd left it at home on the kitchen worktop. So instead of a nice unhealthy breakfast I had an hour's walk home in my full kit and ended up with fucking weetabix.

I parked up at work this morning and was walking to the office. Got stopped by someone looking for a particular clinic. I gave them the directions to which they replied "it's too far". I did point out that I couldn't move the building for them - which didn't go down too well!
