no not new bikes, just keeping the existing (old) one running, had a load of repairs done a few months ago and now i have started using my 25 yr old machine more again with the weather improving somewhat, well temperatures anyway, and straight away i'm into a replacement silencer and replacement brake switch plus another service will be required soon. Also got our boy's bike to sort/pay for as he is still a student, not that i mind particularly, his (old) bike has a gear selection issue (actually I will just be glad if it is fixable), an oil cooler leak and one of the heated grips gone awol - dear oh dear. i don't recall my old toyota costing…

Bit of a ramble here but as a biker how do you view cyclists? There sure are a lot about now A number of you will be cyclists too, as I am - serious cycling seems to have become popular For me open roads are far too dangerous for bicycles but these cycling enthusiasts brave them As a motorcyclist the worst situation is turning a corner to find an oncoming car who is overtaking a cyclist Some car drivers just swoop past cyclists, as in the circumstances above, and others hang back for ages Most cyclists realise that two abreast irritates motorists and they usually go single file eventually I think motorbikes are safer than bicycles but I do not know if statisti…

Any of you lot live near here. I'm thinking of bidding on a set or rear shocks but the guy will only do pick up. If successful any chance someone could pick them up and post them off to me (obviously with remuneration) Cheers

Well peeps I got back to the UK this afternoon and started about sorting the FJ for its MOT tomorrow. First on my list was fix that oil leak/smoke screen, from what I thought was the rocker cover gasket only to find this: P/O sheared the bolt off in the head, and then just held it in with silicon!, I mean sure I fix things with bodge tape and cable ties but that's just on a whole new level. If it doesn't pass tomorrow I'm gonna be walking for a few months! :/

I have this day dream issue I'm not rich but constantly think of other bikes It is a nuisance because there really is not anything wrong with the bike I have I think it might be a general motorbike thing, For a long time it was a fazer 600, the early box eye one until I finally realised it was not for me, now it is an old xj900 pre diversion, been looking for months, but At least these are still yamahas. The grass is not always greener in any event so I do not know why I do it.

I've been on the look out for a cdi unit for a while as the one I have on my second bike is a restricted version from Germany (long story) anyway they normally go for around £50 to maybe £80 pounds I got one off ebay with a spare engine and other stuff for £70, I was well chuffed the guy nearly fell over when I said was only really after the cdi and would have paid him £50 just for thathttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281622978341?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Hi, I've just purchased an affordable set of rear shocks that are about an inch longer than the stock for my 82 sr 250. The stock were thrashed and I found a new set on Ebay. They didnt come with instructions and I've never replaced shocks on any of my bkes. Is it possible to install these or will i have to make some modifications? Thanks

Right, I'm on L plates, I HATE them, people see them as big signs that say "I'm a virgin with no life, run me off the road at every chance". I did a (naughty) experiment when they "accidently" fell off, and found people are much more respectfull and reasonable when they don't see a big loser plate hanging off me like a tumor on my machine. People pulled out on me less, gave me more room and actually treated me with respect instead of randomply shouting at me for going too slowly up a 22% gradient with a hole 7.2 cubic inches of wet fart pushing me allong, and most importantly, they tail gaited me less Why, why was this? It wasn't a 1 day thing, on the 4 times they…
