Been itching badly to replace the YBR for a while now, and I've located a couple of XJ6s [through dealerships]... But dilemmas! This weekend is looking to be a bit dreich down [up?] here and I still need to finish off the finance on the YBR. I can't even justify part exchanging it - if they'll even allow it, due to different finance companies - because dealerships offer effective pennies for it ): [i asked elsewhere, and they only offered £1k for a '12 YBR 125, when I could sell it privately for £1600. Although, HPI may prevent that] I could get both, but I'd then have 2 bikes, and less ability to pay off my YBR faster! How do I cope?!

I'm not usually accident prone but earlier in the week while helping my eldest with some diy I did two things that have kept me off my bike during the really nice riding weather we have had. First while collecting some aqua panel from our local diy store one of the sheets slipped and landed on my foot, nothing broken but some very bad bruising that had me hobiling along like cripple and there was no way I could get my bike boots on, then that evening while shutting the tail gate on my van I got distracted by someone just at the wrong moment and managed to smash my head with the door again nothing broken by a nasty gash and some more bruising, by the time I can put my hel…

Hi guys I'm new here and hoping to get some help. I bought a set of Dr. Bike heated grips to install on my 2009 XJ6N. I'm fairly comfortable with fitting the grips but I'm struggling with the wiring. I don't want to connect the wires straight to the battery. Someone suggested I connect the positive to the tail light live wire using a simple snap-lock connector (like this from maplins for example http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/maplin-snap-lock-connecter-blue-l30ay)and then the neutral straight to the battery. I'm very much an amateur but I think I should be able to do this fairly easily ... assuming I find the tail light wire! Do people think this is a good id…

SWMBO said that she wanted her car put away in the garage, ok says I and went to move the bike out of the way, it's on one of those wheeled trolley things so it's easy to move around the garage, didn't notice the bit of lino that I had been using had got rucked up over itself as I wheeled into it's usual position, you CAN'T stop 700 pounds from falling over when you don't expect it to fall over can you? Snapped the right mirror off like a carrot and scratched the fairing !"£$%^&*() son of a bitch !! I am not a happy bunny today but truth be told it was the dumb arse on the handle bars . So have just bought a new mirror and will see if I can polish the scratches o…

  9. Rossi was up for the challenge of repeating his strong ride of two weeks ago. He needed little time to get back into the swing of things and was quick to take over the top spot from his teammate at the start of the eight-hour long session. As the temperature started rising the pace of the field picked up, but the Doctor was quick to respond and cruised back to the top the leader board with an impressive 2’00.414s lap, which kept him sitting on top for the rest of the session. Teammate Lorenzo had a more challenging start to the second Sepang test. Though he briefly topped the leaderboard with a 2’02.099s lap, he struggled to find the good setup for the slippery asphalt…

Afternoon all Just in case anyone ever needs to know, it appears a Dragstar will go 204 miles (including reserve) before she splutters out. Which cheered me up. Especially as I was 50 yards from a petrol station. Cheers Dom

Had a good look round the Divvy today and treated it to a wash and ACF50. I noticed that all the fairings and the tank have what looks like a security mark on them. I've looked online and can't find anyone who seems to use this particular mark and was hoping someone on here might be able to shed some light. The mark is DAT followed by a seven digit number etched in black dots. My first thought was datatag but looking at their website this doesn't look like what they use. Anyone have any ideas??

Hi, After several long hard months of saving, I am only a few bob short of affording my DAS. However, I'm not sure how I should go about it as I haven't road over winter and some pillock ran over my bike while it was parked up (pannier rack saved bike from any major damage) and I won't have my bike back for a few weeks. I know I need more practice (slow speed), and to do my theory test but I don't know any bikers who ride any more to go out with to point out mistakes and what not. Should I go straight to an instructor and do a 5 day course, including mod 1 and 2, or would having lessons be the better option? I can't afford to fail, money is fairly tight so I want to…

Hi all, I'm Karen from Glasgow, I'm new to forums but I'm having some issues so bit the bullet and joined lol! I have a 2007 R1 with power commander fitted. I changed jobs in 2009 and the bike went off the road due to low salary ( I didn't have the heart to sell! ). I finally decided to get it back on the road last year, changed plugs, battery, brake fluid, coolant etc, stripped out injectors and soaked them in carb cleaner and I dropped some oil down the bores and rolled the bike in gear to free off the Pistons. After all of this it fired up and ran perfectly, went for mot and sailed through, this was in April last year and I've been using the bike regular since an…

Hello, I purchased a DT-175 from a friend of mine, with the intention of restoring it. Neither of us have any idea what the year of the bike is, but our best guess is 1973-1975 area. Is there a way of discovering exactly what year it is? Thanks, Jeff

Hi, wondering if anyone can please help me. My Yamaha XJ900F (1992) slipped from my grip the other day and rolled onto its right side, cracking the crankshaft end cover into three, emptying all the engine oil. Needless to say I wasn't too happy. I'm trying to hunt down a replacement part, and so far have only found what I need in Holland - which will cost be rather costly to post. Does anyone know of a supplier that might make these? I usually find what I need at WeMoto but not this time it seems. Any tips would be much appreciated.
