Hi I have justjust sent my xs750 we carbs off for ultrasonic cleaning ,happy that it will do the job as slides were sticky and not too sure jets were that clean , the info I am after really is that when I get them backback . I fear the pilot screws (mixture screws) will need resetting. I can find no info in the workshop manual on how to do a basic set even .any help appreciated.

  4. Hi all Well with help from various members (Thank you all ), I have done a few things will start with the good . Removing reed switch and taping it up ( Good ) fitting 220 jet in Mikuni TM 28 carb ( good ),cleaning out Exhaust (decoke) good, adjusting needle in carb (good). The bad removing snorkle, made the bike overheat also a pig to start refitted starts first time now and ticks over a lot better. Fitting 240 jet in carb bike had no bottom end so fitted 220 jet much better. Have not gutted exhaust to remove plate as if required would rather get new exhaust jury still out on that one.will fit a iriduim spark plug soon as can get one on island ( apparently adds 2/3 h…

Hi guys. Got a DT 125 MX for a project. The previous owner bored it, not sure how far oversize he went though. he also fit a ktm racing muffler and cone filter. It's suffered 33 years of abuse, so I plan to do a full engine rebuild. Parts aren't difficult to find, neither was the Haynes manual... but a parts catalogue is, I can only find the one for the liquid cooled model.. Does anyone know where I can find one? I'd like to be able to search for parts by their number to avoid compatibility issues. Does anyone have/ know where I can get a parts catalogue? Also, it's moody when it comes to starting, I think its running rich on both jets, for these reasons: 1) i can …

  10. Hi just checking on the inner tube size for the rear tyre on my DT 125 R . the old one I took out was a CST 3.25/3.50-18 tube and the new one from Yamaha is a Bridgestone 4.10-18 tube . The tyre fitted is a Mithchelin Enduro 140-80-18 tyre. Asking because new tubes valve seems to stick through more as when tyou tighten the 2 nuts up there is visible rubber showing, not right i am thinking. Cheers.

Well guys - firstly, I wanted to say sorry for not making it to Squires this year. Looking through the photos & videos it did look like a cracking time. Oh well, there's always next year. Basically, things have been a little manic at work with me, and this weekend rather snuck up. Any way, looking through my work calendar I'd realised I'd booked Monday and Tuesday off work, great! There were two things I'd told myself last year - firstly that I would do another Iron Butt ride (what's wrong with me?!) and secondly that I would go and explore Scotland. The decent weather is rapidly running out on us and I've not been out on the bike as much as I'd hoped, so a…

Hey folks, thought id have a little rant and give you a giggle. I have been helping a mate of mine fix his road legal Pit bike 140cc (stomp??) and yesterday i had to remove two fucked screws out of his stator plate so he could upgrade it. Anyway before that he asked if i had a flywheel puller and sadly id don't, followed swiftly by the "how do i remove a flywheel then" question..............."with a puller" i reply. Then the screw extraction procedure happened, how he got the flywheel off i did not ask. i do the biz and remove the two fucked screws and fit the new stator and leave for home to my chicken stew and dumplings.....nom nom nom Hour later he tips up at mine …

hi guys I have a 2000 thunderace and when I took it out of the shed the other morning it seemed to have developed a misfire . very lumpy at low revs and not wanting to pick up unless given a handful and stinking of petrol I have replaced the standard exhaust with a stubby race can and thought this could have caused the problem but after replacing the standard exhaust yhe misfire continues could it be as simple as a plug off or something more serious

Hi, Wasn't really sure where to post this but here goes. I just got my DT 125 MX through its MOT and was wondering if anyone had any name suggestions, it's silver. Only characteristic I've noticed so far is that it wrecks my nuts every time I sit on it. Thanks

Hello! I'm thinking of ditching the Autolube oil delivery system from my '81 DT250MX/I suspect that the previous owner has already done that for me but I haven't got around to making 100% sure. Basically I'm going for the 'oil in the petrol tank' approach. Does anyone know the oil/fuel ratio for doing this. I've never owned a 2-stroke so I'm used to just sticking it all in the bottom end and being done with it. Cheers.

Hey everyone. Im having issues with my V50 atm where my exhaust is full of oil. The previous owners use to run car engine oil through the pre mix system instead of normal 2 stroke oil (it says motor oil on the cap and they got confused) so im wondering what methods are best to clear it out so the bike can breath. Cheers
