My eldest who has never been on a bike in his life has found a 2008 YBR 125 in a barn in Somerset, turns out he used to share a house with the original owner who bought in new but only rode it twice as after a low speed tumble he never rode it again, eventually it was given to his sister who took it with her when she moved back to run the family farm in somerset, now believe it or not this bike has only 156 miles on the clock, it appears to be in fairly good nick with a few scratches from the tumble back in 2008 and some surface rust on some of the shinny bits, it seems to run ok and has a MOT. I know that when he gets it I will be spending some time giving it a health ch…

Hi All I am hoping that this forum provide some guidance to a novice? I have purchased a XT250G, pretty much all there and MOT'd etc..., just need to fettle it a bit: Head Gasket, weeping when hot! needs a replacement clock mount, last owner fabricated one not that good It has a stainless steel Micron Exhaust, very good condition, but to be honest I would like an original I have been scouring the internet for the last week and have come up blank on the mounting bracket and exhaust, also would be great to find a digital manual. Looking forward to a fews chats on here and the project moves on :-) Regards Simon

Thankfully all the summer bikers are coming out of the sheds for the summer, it's nice to see so many more bikes about. But last spring, and this one I'm noticing a trend, none of them nod, maybe my engine size doesn't please them, or they're just snobs. I don't understand, not a single one I've seen thus far will nod back. Kinda makes me laugh, whilst they sat inside all winter polishing and drinking tea I was out, and now they look down on me.

Hello all, New to this (or any) bike forum, but have just bought a brand new XV950 and have covered about 30 miles - unfortunately, I'm getting the same old pain in the ass (literally) I've experienced with other bobber style bikes I've owned. Before I start ordering solo sprung replacement saddles etc, can anybody advise if they have gone down the same route of sourcing a comfier (softer) replacements ? I suffer from a condition called pilonidal sinus (right at the base of your spine), and have had a few op's over the years - and really cant be riding something that brings it back. Previously, I've tried gel pads, but never felt like they offered any …

Had the fazer for a year now, my only grouch is that I am finding the clutch lever heavy going in town traffic, and suspect the same would be the case on a trackday. I gone through the lever/cable connections/adjustments etc, well lubricated, and cant get it any lighter. I consider that I have 3 options. 1) Convert to hydraulic (looks to be around £250 min spend) 2) Lighter clutch springs (may lead to clutch slippage/variation in pick up point) 3) Some thing like these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/YAMAHA-FZ6-FAZER-2004-2010-LONG-BLACK-BRAKE-CLUTCH-LEVERS-SET-TRACK-RACE-R12B2-/231408112680?hash=item35e0ff9428:g:~RUAAOSwDk5T91-i Has anyone f…

Hi all I spent today watching the BBC coverage of the North West 200. I love watching the road racing the TT the northwest the ulster but after more than one red flag incident I started to feel uneasy about watching it. we love to see the speed and danger but are the riders taking to much of a risk. Then heartbreakingly the day ended with the death of a twenty year old lad. R.I.P Malachi Mitchell-Thomas I just wanted to know what every ones thoughts are about racing on the roads nige

Hi, just wondering does the Yamaha MT-125 have storage under the rear seat. On lots of bikes nowadays you can use your key to unlock the rear seat and then you can store some small things underneath it. Just wanted to know is the MT-125 has the same feature. Thanks

I was in town buying a can of engine gunk and I got thinking about how one would degrease a bike in ye old days. Say in the 40's-50's or such when such products where difficult to find, how would you clean grease and oil from an engine? Some household method or would you just use a rag and deal with it? Anyone have any ideas?

Dear all, Took my old 1992 diversion XJ600S out for a spin last week. Drove 160Km on one day, but when I went to start the next day, upon turning the key the lights came on for a second and then everything died. Now no power at all when turning key on and I cannot explain it. Checked battery, no problem, 13.19 volts ( spent the winter on a trickle charger). Checked all fused, not avail. Anyone a clue where to start looking? Thanks, Simon

Did 50 odd miles today with the eldest daughter on the back and she is really starting to get it. Only got headbutted once today, she uses the rack rather than me to hold on. Can really get a move on with her on the back now I can rely on her not moving at the wrong time. Actually enjoying the bike rather than worrying if she will stay on for the next overtake/bend etc. Only real pain is she rests on me under braking but that's improving with her upper body strength (hockey training) and the TDR front brake really struggles pulling up when the bike has a pillion. I may fit a blue spot for peace of mind. She is hinting after some leathers and boots now th…

So, my question is - where can i find the rear break fluid reservoir? Here is some pics of my 1991 TZR125cc

I was wandering around my local bike mechanic/dealer and found something very unusual. A big old air cooled 4 cylinder, sort of thing you'd expect to see in a Z1000, but it had a King and Queen seat, and had a semi cruiser style and a big tear drop tank. Poor thing looked like it had been laying on it'#s side in a shed for decades. Didn't have any identificatgion on it apart from a Yamaha badge on the tank. Kinda as if someone had stuck a 4 cylinder air cooled motor into an xs650 Does anyone have a single clue what it could have been?
