Hi There, I am getting really close to purchasing my first raider and am pretty excited. In my area(ish) there are 3 Raiders i am looking at. Any advice from people on these forums with regards to what you think about the 3 options below is very much appreciated. (1) The 2013 Raider: $6600 - Color of bike is Candy Red. Pros: Only 600 Miles on odometer Is a 2013 model (newest of the 3 i am looking at) Located 15 minutes from where i live. Has the cobra black pipes (even though they are scratched a little), can i clean these up? Paint over them and make look like new again? (More about this…

Hi Folks, new to the Club and new to Viragos. I have moved from a (don't sneer) Chinese 125 Cruiser - not unlike a Dragstar 125 - the Lexmoto Lowride. It had a lovely, albeit plastic, big front fender like the Dragstar. The Virago 535 has a weeny front fender and I'm anticipating a lot of splash back in the rain! Does anyone know if it's possible to fit a Dragstar Fender to a Virago 535 - the 535 does have a slimmer front wheel than the 650 and up but the 125 looks like the same size-ish front wheel. Any thoughts Thanks all Click to choose files Mark

hi lads, basically I managed to buy another dtr125 a couple hours ago but this one has a dtre engine and they've used the dtr loom (I think) and have just chopped it up in places, the lad I got it off had it running 3weeks ago but now it wont start, the engine feels spot on (better then my last one if I'm honest) so I don't think its anything to do with that, more to do with this loom, the snorkel being ripped out and some plum screwing a oil pump cover there to try to cover the hole, it has a mikuni carb on it which I don't think my previous one had and it also came with a 30mm oko carb (not sure about that either to be honest my brains a sieve lol als…

Hello and thanks for taking the time to read and hopefully help. I have a Yamaha DT 175 that is running rough and when warmed up has Idle issues. When the engine is at maximum operating temperature, I have to keep adjusting the Idle from either (at times) being to high, or to low. It's hard to explain because its so erratic. For example, again when the engine is well up to operating temp and one backs off the Throttle (where earlier the idle had been set), the engines RPM (Or Idle) doesn't came back down to where it was set. So, I wind it back down.....then later, during the same ride, the Idle becomes to low when throttling off, an…

So I've tried fixing my cheap project bike but failed and now just want it on the road, before I get too disinterested and de motivated in biking. Time to spend lots of money and take it to a garage as I don't know anyone who can fix it cheaply. Nor do I have the time, tools and knowledge despite all you help. So thank you all again

Hi all, ive been riding an 86 fj1200 for about a year now and late last summer i noticed a slight drag on the clutch when i first start the bike. (first gear with the lever all the way in and it pulls away and or stalls) I rebuilt the leaking master cylinder a few months back with great results and fluid is topped off. is this a common issue with this era FJ or is there an issue i need to deal with? thanks Paul

My SR has developed a noticeable rattle in the engine, but I'm a bit of a bike retard so I don't know what it actually is, does this sound like a crankshaft bearing? Only thing I know is its a long job to fix so another question is if I have a problem with the bottom end how long is it safe to keep riding?

So exhaust is all done , took it for a spin and worked fine, pulled up for an hour, then pulled away again, and 500 yards seem to start losing lower then just died, started again a few times but as I pull throttle it has no power and eventually refused to even start, any ideas, cos I'm getting inpatient and losing interest in biking due to many issues with this, seems I fix one and another 2 happen

mystery caller at 5:45 woke mw up and it was a withheld number :/ never mind the sun was out, clear skies, time to get the FZ out and go the devils bridge in Kirkby lonsdale. Boy was it cold, salt on the roads and a bit of ice ice baby through Pendle. had to stop for a pee so took a couple of pickies. For some reason the tickover went to 4k revs, took on some fuel at a country garage where locals keep their engine running whist shopping (i kid you not) Went to start the bike and it was fine ever since. must be a bit of crud somewhere. met 1 biker at DB he was from Leeds on his new Honda, the one…

What do you guys think? (keep in mind that the cables had yet to be cleaned up at this point in the installation) Gotta say the difference in handing is ridiculous, I've found that what was once the limit on a bend is now more than comfortable, plus I'm enjoying the new riding stance a lot, feels like this is how the bike should have come from the factory, not with those ridiculous mini apes. Probably gonna get a set of bar risers (it just touches slightly at full lock), shorten the wiring coming from the controls and get myself a new front break line (needed one anyway).

Attention YBR owners, I've heard a common issue with the YBR is a clutch that judders on the last little bit of the clutch throw as you're letting it out, apparently it's been like that for as long as the engine has been around. Anyone found a way to fix this? This judder really is starting to get on my nerves, it's impossible to pull away smoothly without burning my clutch unnecessarily. (And yes, I've tried adjusting my clutch cable a million different times)
