Hey! i recently picked up a '78 dt175. Everything was running fine until one day I noticed the tube coming from the oiler no longer had oil in it. after getting the bike back (in a truck) I started looking at what the problem could be. I had recently tipped the bike in the woods, so I first tried bleeding the system. (I drained the tank and added 50:1 until I was certain the pump was working again) no air bubbles appeared while bleeding, but I continued to bleed it for 30/45 seconds or so. Put the bleed screw back on, started the bike and looked to see if the pump was 1. Pumping, and 2. Was the oil moving. Needless to say after 3 times bleeding the system, …

As you may have gleaned from Tommy XS post, we are hoping to go to spain next year and feel the need to get a suitable steed. My Bar hopper XS won't do and the sports orientated FZ will kill me. So I was thinking a 2 pot and thought of the TDM. Ugly things but the ones with the 270' crank sound good. Any thoughts?

Gents, I mainly use the FJ for commuting and the fairly short 2hr. jaunt to the Brixham office. Never for cruising or holidays so square butt syndrome never has been that much of an issue. Weather permitting I'm looking at going to Cloggie land to sail in a National Championship in two weeks time and my mate lives in the North so looking at 1050 Km (652 Miles) .......... one way. I'd like to cover distance pretty swiftly without having to stop every 50 yards because my butt is hurting. Putting fuel in the thing is about as much of a stop I'm prepared to make. (maybe the odd fag brake) What tips, hints do you know of to prevent that. Cheer…

Just purchased my first motorbike (17 years old, UK, Scotland, Highland) , it's a Yamaha YBR 125CC, I'm desperately needing motorbike gear asap. I can't seem to find much relevant information on how much i should be spending. I can find boots for £500 and for £30, Jackets for £5000 and £50. Pretty much what i need opinions and facts on is: What price range would you be looking at if you are riding a bike all year round and as much protection as possible. It's inevitable I'll have an accident within the next 2 years on some kind of scale, I'm not scared of blood, grazing and bashing. As long as my gear can keep my bones from my breaking and my brain from smashing!! …

Well its here, a rather dubious trip in a borrowed trailer that was 'legal honest officer' and its home. Not quite as I remember it, still the odd colour that appertains to be I don't know exactly what colour, Honestly I would prefer it back in the blue its supposed to be or a proper shade of the original 2 tone gold/white, clutch is stuck and the brakes do little if anything. Tyres are 30 years old. She runs, badly, thanks to a worn ig advancer plate. and some epically gunged up carbs I think. Still its all there. I was thinking of running it up to squires but it needs too much work at the minute and it would be an epic rush with shortcuts. My plan, tap Dr…

Hi There, I'm restoring a DT 125B and am trying to find the original paint colour. I've just posted this queation in the new members area by mistake, so apologies for my gaff. The bike looks almost a signal red, I will post a picture although the colour is a lot more vivid in reality, Thanks in anticipation Joe

My 2012 xmax sport 125 needs a full service , I'm at 10,000 on the clock. I have been told by local bike company that a full service is £100 but for that all he does is oil & all other fluids, air filter, brake check & pegs etc greasing. I don't know much about scooters but this cant be a full service can it ? If it's just a case of doing the above could I not just do it myself ? never worked on scooter or bike before. can I do this myself ?

Thought I would post some pics of some additions. All basic, unlike some of the work people are doing on here.. Added screen (tiny and pointless one!) Engine sliders, and some new levers. Had new tyes fitted today and the guy said my clutch was too tight and needed some slack (something about damage when it heats up?) Is this true? He loosened it a bit but I prefered it the way I had it.. sure I will adapt though. Another thing mentioned was that the head bearings seem to be "notched" as in front wheel kind of tries to stay in the centre. I didn't really notice till he mentioned it. Not sure if I am (or should be) bothered. Next up I think frame sliders and knu…

This may have been brought up before but what do people wear or recommend to wear instead of a leather jacket on those scorching summer days we are promised, I do only mean for getting around town and not long trips,

Hello folks, I've had my 1300 midnight star for a year now, battery went flat over the winter, charging didn't help so I bought another one from e bay, that went flat too!!! I have not used the bike so charging is not an issue and there's no parasitic drop, any ideas please? Can I turn off the immobiliser/alarm (flashing red light on speedo head). Thanks, Andy

Please can someone advise me on how to advertise my bike for sale? I'm not a paid member, but I've seen a post in the old For Sale forum saying that you can advertise for a fee in a new classifieds section. However, I can neither follow the supplied link nor find this section elsewhere on the site... Thanks.

On the 3rd some dopey sod managed to rear end me at a roundabout and royally fucked up the rear of my bike, but my main issue here is that to repair it I need a new tail lamp (along with other parts) and since the YBR custom is a rather hard bike to find parts for I can't find a rear tail lamp, or even a rear tail lamp cover. Does anybody have one going? (would have put this in the wanted section, but I was re-directed to a dead page)
