Right, my engine is fucked, the keeper on the cam sprocket snapped off and fell into the crank and mangled some shit that I haven't even bothered to inspect yet, along with putting scratches into my BRAND NEW cylinder. So I'm just gonna swap the engine out for another one whilst this one gets a rebuild. Now, onto the meat of the question: I've been offered a 2006 YBR engine for a decent price. The problem is that those have a carb and not EFI, but thats the only change, and I'm guessing that I can just swap the stator over to the 2006 model and be golden. As far as I can figure that's about as far as I'd have to go, anyone else have any thoughts?

Been pretty preoccupied with other stuff lately, so the bikes as a whole have taken a back burner massively, FUCR is still in the garage somewhere and I only recently dug out the DT125LC frame I had started to rebuild, so today was as good a time as any to actually do a few little niff naff jobs on it that were holding me back. Namely the shock absorber bushes, which had to be put under the hydraulic press to separate from the swingarm, the remains of the old ones put up a hell of a fight and ended up being dremmeled and pecked at with a chisel before the new ones went in. Ordered a lump of phosphor bronze and some grease nipples so will be spinning up s…

So I had my theory test booked this morning. I got there 5 minutes late so now I have to re-book it and pay for it again. What a con. Now I have to wait another three weeks before I can get an opening for another test. I just wanted to get the ball rolling. Now by the time I get on a bigger bike for lessons the weather will be freezing.

I had to bin my pinlock insert the other other day. My first one was clear and it was spot on. My second was a tinted one because it was a lot cheaper to buy an insert than an actual tinted visor. Not that it would be a very sensible thing to use now the weather is turning into winter and darkness is upon us. I'm just unsure whether to get a clear one or a yellow one. I fancy getting a yellow one but to be honest I'm not even sure what they are used for? I'm under the impression they are anti glare or something, so will be safe to use in the dark? Does anyone else use one?

Hi guys, just a quick question. I'm fixing up a v-max 1200 and I'm swapping out the old indicators as they have gone rusty. The bike was born in 1997 and has got single wire indicators. Where can I buy these (non stock). I've been looking all over! And/or is there a way to fit double wire indicators to the bike? Any help much appreciated. Cheers for now, Louis

I'm sure its been discussed a million times on here but it looks like today's blast around West Kernow was my last for 2016. Work is taking me further away from home and the boss has kindly given me a car on loan for the winter. Road tax is running out as well so may as well call it a day. Tank full/Empty? Battery on trickle charge ? Others?

After being knocked off my bike and left for dead in a hit and run two weeks ago I've just come within inches of being smashed into again! Some dickhead has pulled out in front of me after watching me come from the top of the road and left it until the last minute to pull out on me. Causing me to slam on. I caught up with the idiot at a junction and proper gave him a mouthful. He wouldn't even look at me because he knew he was in the wrong. I never will quit but sometimes I think is it worth it? The standard of driving seems to get worse each day. Every time I go out on my bike I'm taking a gamble. I'm really fed up of it now. I think my problem is I use my bike daily as …

Hi Folks - I'm learning my away around bike maintenance, it's secondhand 19k on the clock, with little knowledge of past servicing. I've been recommended refitting the chain and sprockets. I was wondering what you guys would be checking whilst the back wheel is off? I've got the Haynes and am happy to do entry level mechanics myself! Any thoughts? Cheers!

A couple of week ago i was riding along at 60mph and all of a sudden my bike jolted and lost all power like the throttle had been shut off. Ever since this incident at about 6000/7000 revs in 4/5th gear it just loses all power and i cant get over 40mph on flat. 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears work fine but its when i need to go up a hill at 40mph that it just doesnt go. Does anyone know what may have happened?

So decide to Bobber my xv125 and currently looking at rear suspension, I know the Honda rebel 250 struts bolt straight onto the xv250 and I'm led to believe the xv125 and xv250 are the same bike just different engine bore and cdi unit, so if this is the case the rebel 250 shocks should also bolt straight onto my xv125, Anyone help with this ,

Right, my engine has had low compression (AGAIN). Took it apart expecting to see another scored cylinder, but the cylinder is perfectly fine. I'm very confused at this point. So I decided to have a close look at the valves, visually they seem to be ok, but I've noticed on the valve seat where it meets the valve is covered in soot and general muck, shouldn't the mating surface be clean? I'm utterly stumped, the bore looks good, the valves look good, no signs of compression leaking past the head gasket. I'm utterly lost.

Hi looking for some advice or guidance. Where is the best place to find a rear shock for a 2009 model. Also roughly what's the cheapest price I could likely buy for? Would other make/model shocks fit? If so which ones? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi all I got a question about slip on mufflers, the bike is a xmax 2012 125 would I have to change rollers air/fuel mix or jets if I put a slip on muffler on or do you only do that for a full exhaust system change, not wanting to make the bike faster just like the look of some of the mufflers you can get, any thoughts Thanks all Chris
