After being knocked off my bike and left for dead in a hit and run two weeks ago I've just come within inches of being smashed into again! Some dickhead has pulled out in front of me after watching me come from the top of the road and left it until the last minute to pull out on me. Causing me to slam on. I caught up with the idiot at a junction and proper gave him a mouthful. He wouldn't even look at me because he knew he was in the wrong. I never will quit but sometimes I think is it worth it? The standard of driving seems to get worse each day. Every time I go out on my bike I'm taking a gamble. I'm really fed up of it now. I think my problem is I use my bike daily as …

Hi Folks - I'm learning my away around bike maintenance, it's secondhand 19k on the clock, with little knowledge of past servicing. I've been recommended refitting the chain and sprockets. I was wondering what you guys would be checking whilst the back wheel is off? I've got the Haynes and am happy to do entry level mechanics myself! Any thoughts? Cheers!

A couple of week ago i was riding along at 60mph and all of a sudden my bike jolted and lost all power like the throttle had been shut off. Ever since this incident at about 6000/7000 revs in 4/5th gear it just loses all power and i cant get over 40mph on flat. 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears work fine but its when i need to go up a hill at 40mph that it just doesnt go. Does anyone know what may have happened?

So decide to Bobber my xv125 and currently looking at rear suspension, I know the Honda rebel 250 struts bolt straight onto the xv250 and I'm led to believe the xv125 and xv250 are the same bike just different engine bore and cdi unit, so if this is the case the rebel 250 shocks should also bolt straight onto my xv125, Anyone help with this ,

Right, my engine has had low compression (AGAIN). Took it apart expecting to see another scored cylinder, but the cylinder is perfectly fine. I'm very confused at this point. So I decided to have a close look at the valves, visually they seem to be ok, but I've noticed on the valve seat where it meets the valve is covered in soot and general muck, shouldn't the mating surface be clean? I'm utterly stumped, the bore looks good, the valves look good, no signs of compression leaking past the head gasket. I'm utterly lost.

Hi looking for some advice or guidance. Where is the best place to find a rear shock for a 2009 model. Also roughly what's the cheapest price I could likely buy for? Would other make/model shocks fit? If so which ones? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi all I got a question about slip on mufflers, the bike is a xmax 2012 125 would I have to change rollers air/fuel mix or jets if I put a slip on muffler on or do you only do that for a full exhaust system change, not wanting to make the bike faster just like the look of some of the mufflers you can get, any thoughts Thanks all Chris

It's ex-Ayuntamiento (Local Govt).......they bought it new in 2000, used it infrequently, and when it was due for it's first ITV (MOT) in 2005 they just left it in their garage! There should have been 5 stamps (every 2 years) in the docs......and there was only one, which was 2 days ago. Only in Spain! Consequently it's only done 8000 kms / 5000 miles and is 100% original. Very rare to find one like this.....I've been looking for a long time! And the red/black DJ02 model is very rare in itself.

Hi all; Just bought a 1990 FJ1200 - and it's big - for when I pass my full licence mainly because :- 1. It was cheap at £1000 off a guy who's honest and has had loads done to it - two new tyres, carb/tanks cleaned, rear caliper rebuilt, new clutch seal kit, fork seals, full service and 10 months MOT so it's ready to use for when I pass. The guy selling it has two trikes and is staying to 3 wheels in future instead of two. 2. The reviews had said it is bulletproof. 3. It was local and I could get it delivered. Now I'm done my practice for my mod1 yesterday at the training school (on their Honda NC700's) and I've had a practice of the FJ in the car park…

Gridlock coming to work again yesterday due to a fatal accident on the main road to Falmouth involving a bike rider but little did I know how involved we were. A deck hand of ours, working on an on-call basis, was making his way to Falmouth at 05:30 yesterday morning in drizzely & dark conditions to crew one of our boats. When he came to a blind corner he was faced with a young 30 y/o female biker sliding towards him on the deck and into his path. She must have fallen off her 125-bike due to leaves or the ridiculous amounts of diesel on the roads these days. Regretfully he was unable to avoid her and crashed himself after trying. The guy is pretty shook u…

Massive warning in the workshop manual section for the rear shock and remote reservoir saying must not sepertate from one another. Risk of accident etc But why? Its not built on it, Just linked from rear shock to side of head via a banjo ended pipe. Its ment to be gas filled and under 120psi Problem is that the end with the valve in has failed ie valve snapped of in my hand so now has a bolt in. No gas came out when it snapped either but i am sure thats my jack hammer death bounce swingarm is about.. took i while but gas leaked out with use etc. Why cant i just buy a new remote reservoir ? or am i missing the point here and even with a de presurised unit t…

HI I went to start my xj600 this morning after being away for a month. Absolutely no juice from the battery. I put it on charge and very quickly the charger read full. I replaced it back in the bike but it was still dead. I then decided t jump start it from the car and it started fine, I eventually disconnected the jump leads. I left the bike running for another 30 mins then switched it off. Went to start it again and the battery was dead again. I know this is probably a stupid question but have I got a dead battery? or could it be something else?

Hello everyone, If I am placing this wrongly please forgive me. I have just added a 2001 Yamaha 1600 Midnight Star to my bikes. This bike had been sitting for over a year and obviously needed carburetor cleaned. This bike had RineHart Exhaust put on it and an aftermarket air filter. The exhaust has started to brown so I assume the jets needed changed also. I carried the bike to local shop and they cleaned Tank, Carburetor, re jetted it, new plugs and put it all back together. It ran Perfect for the first 30 miles and then it started backfiring through the rear cylinder pipe while idling and also while riding when you are not accelerating, Just at a level speed. …
