HI MY WIFE HAS A XV535 GREAT BIKE FOR AROUND TOWN AND SHORT TRIPS UP THE MOTORWAY BUT NOT FOR PROLONGED USE AT 70, IF THE BIKE WAS CHAINE DRIVEN I WOULD PUT A SMALLER SPROCKET ON THE REAR PROBLEM SOLVED BUT IT BEING SHAFT DRIVEN I HAVE NO IDEAR, SO IF YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE PLEASE LET ME KNOW. can somebody clarify whether or not engine and frame numbers are or should be the same on early xt500 (R REG.) cheers

Okay peeps, I checked some of this out last night (See other post regarding fuel tax protest, for those not in the know), it seems to have started, the balls rolling. A bike made from donated parts with it's very own heart transplant. Papworth gave LC club member Foxie a heart transplant in 2006, so we thought we would give something back. Well peeps, what a great day out. Up to Birch services for 7.30am. Already there where about 3-400 bikes. Press, News, Tv etc....and of course the Police. Met up with Goff At 8.00, around 2-3000 bikes had gathered..exact figure...duno. 8.10am...set off down the motorway at around 10-20 mph, using all 3 lanes and a few using the hard shoulder. Yeah we had a police escort... Anyhoo..we got to Man Utd Fc ground and parked up on the main road, blocking all surrounding roads..we hadnt got 2 our destination at Salford Quays yet. After about 15 mins..we got moving again and set off for The Quays. Those that where there....cool ..those that werent..shame you…

After 17,000 miles of running well, my TRX850 has started to run rich on both cylinders. It is rich enough to foul the plugs and cause misfiring at low revs. I believe the ignition is ok as it appears fine at higer revs I have changed the plugs and air filter, checked that the chokes are not sticking, renewed the choke mechanisms, cleaned the carbs several times, but they look spotless anyway, checked the diaphragms and throttle position sensor and checked for a blocked carb breather. I suspect that the bike has been dynojetted but as it was running fine before this problem this should not be part of the problem. I have run out of ideas, any suggestions would be more …

Hi Guys Theres been a rash of bike thefts in MK lately. We've lost three from memebers in our club so far this year. It appears they follow you home and wait for an opertunity to just help themselves to your bike, so don't walk away from it or leave it for any time at all. Lock it up, put it away etc before going and getting out of your kit, even if it means getting it out again ten minutes later to wash it. Oh, and one guy has even found some very identifiable parts on ebay within days, but as usual the police are dragging their heals.... Hugh.

Hello Everyone, New to the Fazer Family I passed my test yesterday and had my 06 fazer waiting for me at the local dealership but they didn't think I'd pass so they didn't have it ready for me so now I've got to wait till 15:30 tomorrow before I can go and pick it up Damn Dealerships lol anyway are there any decent runs going on in the area as I wanna give it a blast it's only got 398 on the clock so it's barely even run in yet plus i think it's been sitting for a while (i know at least three weeks as that's how long they've been holding it for me) give me a shout back if you know of any runs going on Cheers Vilethor

hi all ive just got a pre div 1990 xj600 that is a little stiff when going through the gears up and down can anyone help or give me any tips thanks guys

Im new to the forum so il start by saying HI. I have just got myself a DTR 125 to learn to ride on, I bought as a non-runner and have now got it running, however it will only run with the choke on! I thought this would be an easy fix with adjustments to the pilot screw. This is where my problem starts! the pilot screw has had the head ruined and I can only just get a bit of grip on it but the screw doesn't want to turn with the small amount of grip i can get. Does anyone have any ideas on how i can remove this screw without damaging the Carb? any help is very appreciated!

Morning all, as you can see i'm new here. I've had a few off road bikes and more recently got rid of a Blaster 200cc Yamaha quad. About 18 months ago I got a new job in the centre of Cardiff and ive been catching buses ever since and it pains me! It takes 50 minutes to go 4.5 miles on a bus! If I can convince the missus and im trying my best I want to get an XT125R. Now I've done my CBT but about 5 years ago so I guess thats expired?? I need some help please! I have just seen my dream bike a YZF750 and finally it's in my price bracket and nearby!! Initially the pictures look good, it's got 17K on the clock and is a 1994 model. I have been trawling the internet for buyers guides and found very little. So can anyone give some advice on what to look for when buying one of these awesome bikes? What should I look for when looking round the bike? What should I look for on the test ride? EXUP Valve issues - what should I look for, will an aftermarket exhaust system affect it? Burning Oil - Is this an issue? It has a polished frame -is this a good or bad sign? Any advice big or small will…

I've got a mint 2001 r6 with an engine that needs repair or replacing due to a defect in one of the bores - decision time is do I pay £500+ to get a replacment engine /fix the current engine or sell the bike as spares/repair. The question is how much is a an R6 worth with an engine in it's current state??? On the engine front - if you had the choice between repairing the current engine (15k miles and v.clean) or buying a used engine (like hens teeth and cost £500 and up) what is the preferred option? If I rebuild the current engine it'll have a total rebuild including new pistons/rings, gaskets etc. although this will be around £700. Thanks, Peter
