Hi guys, I have recently purchased my first Yamaha and I love it. The problem I have is that when I got it I gave it a good service, changed the gearbox oil ect.. I also drained the existing 2 stroke oil and replaced it with good quality fully synsethic oil and since then its been running really badly. When it gets to about 7000 rpm it splutters and mutters and I have to ease off the throttle and gently try to accelerate again which helps a bit but its still not right. Is it the 2 stroke oil coz thats the only thing I have changed??? I am very confused with it. What 2 stroke oil would you recommend? Also I want to get a better performance exhaust on it, can any one rec…

I got this from someone at work and thought I pass it on. Tips on Filling your Vehicles...This is a Message received from an oil consultant I don't know what you guys are paying for petrol... but here in Durban , we are also paying higher, up to 47.35 per litre. But my line of work is in petroleum for about 31 years now, so here are some tricks to get more of your money's worth for every litre. Here at the Marian Hill Pipeline, where I work in Durban , we deliver about 4 million litres in a 24-hour period thru the pipeline. One day is diesel; the next day is jet fuel, and petrol, LRP and Unleaded. We have 34-storage tanks here with a total capacity of 16,800,0…

Hello to you all. I am having real probs with my switch, and having checked the haynes manual all seemed to be fairly simple procedure. Now having bought the switch and looked at the bike, the switch is held not with Phillips screws as the manual says, but bolts whose head snap off when torqued up. So, it means having to drill them and use an 'Eazeout'. Has anyone done this job before, and do you have any tips on how to go about it? I use my bike for work, so cannot have it off the road more than 2 days. Any idea as to the size of the bolts and torque pressure (I aint ever used these before)I will have to buy before starting? Any help appreciated, take care, stoot

I've recently moved to Tanzania where I bought a Yamaha DT 225 Lanza. Been looking for some spare parts from UK Yamaha dealers, no joy from any of them - they say that the chassis number is not recognised on their system. As this may not be a bike that is sold in the UK, has anyone any idea where I'd get spare parts from?

Hi Im new to forum. Ive got my 1st xt 550 25 yrs old. Im stuck for advice on parts that will fit onto bike. I need a headlight and tail/ brake light. either aftermarket or xt parts, preferably aftermarket or would a 600 tenere 83 headlight with mini fairing fit onto my bike ? I wanted a square headlight that most enduros have fitted, with little fairing surround. If anyone can help with parts, and fitting advice, would be really helpfull. desperate to get it on road.. Also the plastics are looking rough. Is there anything i can put on them to bring them up, to save money on new ones ? sorry for all questions, i really have no experience with trial bikes.

When riding around town the tires dont get very warm but after a long scoot down the highway at higher speeds they warm up quite a lot more. What I've found is the following. slow speeds the tires feel good, higher speeds after warm up they feel that there is a weave in the bike when going back down to slower speed. I can ride for a while and still feel this weave in the bike at the slower speed. The next time I take the bike out again it feels fine until the tires warm up a lot more. Anyone else ever had this. hey, i was driving on the interstate the other day. Um, trying to keep up with my friends who do not have dualsports. anyway, the gas line going into the carbs blew off. The bike was still running fine on the interstate probably because she was all the way opened up. when i pulled off, the engine flooded and it turned off. i eventually put the fuel line back onto the nipple for the carbs. But now whats happening is this. With the gas off everythings okay, no leaking. THe engine just is really flooded if i kick it over and it won't start. When i turn the gas on, fuel starts coming out of the fuel emissions line.(the tube that is hanging underneath the bike, …
