  1. Last year in TWO magazine we ran a feature called 'Turf Wars'. The aim was to find which group of 1000cc sportsbike riders was the best. After a couple of prelim rounds at Boxhill, the final was held at Bruntingthorpe where all the riders got to go nuts for a day (longest wheelie, top speed, drag racing, etc). It was a load of fun and we are planning this years round. We're hoping to do something similar but with 600cc riders this time. If you have an R6 (any model) and are interested, could you get in contact please? (We're also after ZX6Rs, GSXR600s and CBR600 if you know anyone with one who might be interested). If your up for a laugh and fancy getting …

After 17,000 miles of running well, my TRX850 has started to run rich on both cylinders. It is rich enough to foul the plugs and cause misfiring at low revs. I believe the ignition is ok as it appears fine at higer revs I have changed the plugs and air filter, checked that the chokes are not sticking, renewed the choke mechanisms, cleaned the carbs several times, but they look spotless anyway, checked the diaphragms and throttle position sensor and checked for a blocked carb breather. I suspect that the bike has been dynojetted but as it was running fine before this problem this should not be part of the problem. I have run out of ideas, any suggestions would be more …

Im now the proud owner of this fantastic all round Motorcycle. The only problem im struggling to find anything to lift it off the ground with to do general maintanance. I have bought paddock stands for front and back but after using the back once I noticed it marked my paint work on the rear swinging arms so im worried about using it again. I have seen from various sites these bobbins you can screw into the frame which you use to lift the bike rather than risk damaging the paint work on the rear swinging arms. The problem is the new FZ6 S2 (07 Onwards) doesnt seem to have these 6mm threaded holes they keep mentioning to screw the bobbins in. Does anyone have a solu…

Hi all !!! I have just joined and thought it would be nice to introduce myself, I live in Norfolk in the UK and I ride a mint 2001 R1 in the best colour which is of course red. The bike was bog standard when I bought it and I thought I would tart it up a bit but I can't stop customising now, love the bike and it is super quick, I have been riding bikes for 20+ years so I know what I like. Pics of my baby, but need some new pics as I have since added carbon frame protectors and an Ohlins across tank steering damper which was definitely needed.

Ok, took the bike (FZ400RL) for it's MOT. After he stopped laughing (I wish I was joking there) he pointed out a few things and asked me if I REALLY wanted to go ahead with the MOT...... I have to admit, that while I'm ok with mechanics and (if I say so myself) pretty good with cars, I've never took a bike for an MOT before. My previous bike ownership was back before my car days and they were new, so no need. I know she doesn't LOOK amazing, but I didn't expect things to be *too* bad. Her electrics are all hunky dory, all the switches do what they should etc etc. He gave it a cursory look over. The list he rattled out? Here goes..... fork seals, brake …

After 5 weeks, I am getting my bike back on the road today! Its been a LOOOOON 5 weeks. Picking up the tank and undertray and the final 2 fairing panels from the bodyshop in a few mins, then get back and start reassembly. Knowing my luck it will be raining all afternoon so I wont be able to take her out lol. Not been on here since it came off the raod as it would have been too depressing. I will post some pics up as soon as I have taken some. I have had her done ALMOST standard. There are a couple of extra decals, the decals are Bright White and Chrome instead of Pearl White and Grey, and I have changed teh color very subtley to what i think is an even more vivid Blu…

I have a R6 (53 plate) which has suddenly developed the dreaded TPS (throttle position sensor) fault, basically the engine keeps cutting out luckily this has only happened while idling usually sat at lights in neutral, I've spoken to my local yamaha dealer who initially told me there was a product recall on my model, I've also read various posts on the R6forum detailing the same problem, one particular guy had a major accident due to the engine cutting out during an overtaking manoeuvre which resulted in the poor fellow clipping an oncoming car and is now unable to ride ever again! After speaking to Yamaha themselves apparently the R6 was never recalled with this problem i…
