  2. I removed the rear wheel to replace the tire. After reinstalling the wheel the clutch will not disengage. When i pull on the lever, every thing moves back an fourth. It did seem looser then before the tire change. I tighten the slack nuts on the lever but still no change. With engine off, I can put it in gear and back to neutral with the foot clutch petal. when the engine is on, it catches an stalls out when i put it in first gear. It has a drive shaft. Could i have hit some thing or not put it back together right? Im stumped, i thought they were two different things.

Hi guys, so got my first bike on the road and after some subtle mods and some new parts, shes looking mint, i've decided after 2000miles and not knowing its past that its time to change the chain and sprocket set i was wondered if changing the front sprocket from a 14 tooth to a 17 tooth would make any difference at all? Thanks for your help! Ollie................ DO not worry! just read an interesting post about 125 sprocket changing, which has lead me to think, get it, its only a 5er but keep the old one in case this ruins my gearing and possibly top gear pulling power..... Thanks.

  5. I just bought a 1996 XJ600 Seca II With 8,000 miles on it. When I got it it tried starting but wouldn't (carbs needed cleaned). Yesterday I spent all day very thoroughly cleaning the carbs, gas tank, petcock, blasted out all the fuel lines. I then reassembled it and tried to start it, I had to try cranking it for almost 20 minutes before finally it started. I rode it about 80 miles last night then parked it. This morning I go out to get on it and it wont start, Ive checked the ignition system and I have good spark on all 4 plugs. Tried jumping it off (in case the brand new battery was weak), didn't help. I definitely have fuel being pumped from the tank into the carbs and…

Hi, I'm new to this forum so apologies for any errors in posting. I have a TW 125, believe it's 2003. It has been running fine for a few weeks, then one day it just wouldn't start (nothing at all). Managed to bump start it fine to get it home. On inspection one of the two fuses has blown (20 amp) but with a replacement in there still seems to be no current going to the starter. The ignition is fairly damaged from an attempted theft, but this has been no problem before. I turn the ignition on and the lights light up, indicators work etcetera. Kill switch is off, sidestand up, clutch in but the starter just does not spin. Any ideas or things to check first…

I just bought some 4" risers for my 1100 and the cables are too tight. I think I would have enough slack in the lines if I just rerouted them to the inside of the triple tree. Not quite sure the best way to do this. Do I undo each cable at the handle bar and move it around back? Do I remove the top of the triple tree? Will I have to bleed the brake line? I thought this was going to be a nice easy install, now I'm not so sure. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi guys, 1st March got a brand new Yamaha YZF-R125, and love it, I wore the engine in properly, went over 6k revs sometimes by accident (more concerned with the road than my revs!) but I am sure it never went much over 6.5k for any longer than a second or two, I doubt it is THAT precise. Anyway, where I live the road camber is a bit of a bitch, and some mornings I dont give it enough juice, it stalls, fair enough, but when I push the starter again it just keeps going grgrgrgrgrgrgr and never turns on, and if it does it sounds slow and clunky, whereas if I switch it off, wait a few secs, and turn back on, its fine. Is this normal? Also, I know its only a 125, but at …

Hi All, The headlight on my Yamaha Sr 125 is broken, and I've been trying to replace it -- but I did not expect it to be such a hard job! I can't find the replacement anywhere including eBay. I also tried to get some sort of standard 7-inch light -- but it didn't fit into the bracket. Can anyone advise me on what headlights I can use (possibly from other Yamaha models?) Many thanks, Paul.

hi there, I'm looking for a fuel cap for my XVS 650 (1997 model) I'm finding it very hard to find one. i was driving along yesterday and it flew off as i was driving, the spring broke of the release mechanism, hopped along the road and into the ditch by the time i pulled up and ran back i couldn't find it, gone forever... That's what you get for not fixing the damn thing in the first place. I looked up wemoto.com and mandp.co.uk and they don't have them in stock. It's a rare enough item i would imagine. So hence why i am here now. Any advice of where to look? I know in the states that V-star is the equivalent of the drag star, but my model is 1997 and it only came…

I'm renovating a DT125R and had to replace the rear wheel. Now I have done that I CANNOT GET ANY PRESSURE FROM THE REAR BRAKE AND THE BRAKE DOES NOT OPERATE. The rear brake caliper is fixed to the wheel spindle, so when I removed the wheel I (probably incorrectly), I disconnected the rear brake cable from the caliper so that the caliper could be removed connected to the wheel spindle. I have now read that I have made some errors in the way I removed the wheel and in particular the rear brake caliper. The rear brake cable that I disconnected from the caliper has obviously leaked some brake fluid whilst the wheel was replaced. Now I have replaced the wheel/caliper…

  16. Hello All, A friend directed me to this site, hopefully to find someone who knows more about my "new" vintage purchase... a 1983 Venture Royale. The bike runs and rides well. The guy I bought it from never disclosed the lost gears, he told me it had its cosmetic problems, though. The plastics on the bike all needed repair, the seat needed to be reupholstered, a new head pipe, etc etc etc. I was fleeced and it is my fault for buying a bike in late Jan in new england and not being able to take it for a proper test ride. All the cosmetics are done, the bike was tuned, new plugs and such. I took it out for a shake-down ride two weeks ago and I have smooth shifts, neu…

  17. Hi to all, I had a search of the forum but couldn't find a specific answer - so thought i'd post and see if anyone had experience of adding a toth the the front sprocket of the YBR 125. This is my first post. I've an 07 YBR 125 and am considering getting 1 tooth extra front sprocket. This is to try to increase the top end (hoping for 5mph extra - where wind isn't against me). I'm also hoping that it will allow me to go a bit faster in the lower gears. for example, at 40mph i'm very comfortably in the top gear. With an extra tooth on the front I'd like to be able to use 4th instead. The same applies for most of the lower gears. So, here are my questions. Does anyo…

Hello all, Just purchased a 1964 Yamaha YG1 80cc. Seem like a great little bike. Look forward to riding her. Just had a few questions that I was hoping someone could answer. What type of oil should I run in the gear box? I was reading that some people use 10W40 and even some use ATF in the 2 stroke gearboxes? I was leaning more towards the 10W40. What fuel to oil ratio should I use for premix? I think I read 20:1 on an old brochure I saw online...kind of hard to make out the text though. Also along with the gearbox oil, anybody know what the capacity is and how to tell how much is in there? There doesn't seem to be a dipstick or anything...at least th…

So the days are nearing to the inevitable purchase of my YBR 125 for commuting to work. I'm sorting out the place where I will keep it at home at the moment, but don't have a place to keep it under cover - like in a garage or secluded area. I'm worried that a bike is such an easy target for vandalism or just plan robbin'! How can I help stop people getting their hands on my pride and joy? I'd love to hear where you keep your bike if not in a garage and if you've had any troubles doing it that way. Parking at work is fine, being a fort with guard dogs! MrL

Hey peeps, everyone had their fun of the nice weather? ... So I've had a wee look at the pinned chain page. Interesting stuff. Is there any way to see which chain is on my bike? I know it doesn't really matter if it's worn as it will need replaced anyway but I was just curious as to if I could find out if it X or O sealed or make.. Also heard some for's and against Scot Oilers, I'm all for just, *ahem* doing it by hand but been looking into an S.O. and wondering what yer thoughts are...?
