.....is the sound my rear wheel makes when rotated slowley whilst up on the centre stand. Hey Folks, I've check the wheel for play as best I can and it appears to be fine but I had just come back from Glasgow so I'll check again tomorrow. I've had a quick search for this type of sound it mostly points towards a bearing, any thoughts? If it is the bearing starting to go how far gone is it? I've changed a front bearing before but never attempted a rear. Hope it's not beyond my skills! Cheers in advance peeps

  11. hey guys, i'm new to your little community you have here, and though i know its annoying for new guys to immediatly ask question about fixing their bikes you should know i'm from saskatchewan canada and we can only ride our bikes for a few months a year, so time is a factor. i have an old 1980ish 175 enduro, the oil light comes on in neautral (i'm told this is a test), but once i get it into gear it will sometimes flicker on and off. the oil reserve is full. sometimes as soon as i let off the throttle it will go off... its weird because it doesn't stay on while im in gear, but rather turns off and on sometimes... i love the old girl and use it for my daily rider so i'd h…

So, I reckon I'm up to about 800 miles since getting the Divvy. All's great with the bike and I'm pretty much all round chuffed with it. I'm mostly on 30 / 40 mile round trips but had a couple Edinburgh - Glasgow runs recently. I was over to Troon from Prestonpans at the weekend and on the return trip got thoroughly soaked. It was my first bit of proper wet riding and all was good, I was no in no hurry to test the limits of grip but sufice to say I didn't drop it and only had mild hypothermia when I got home... ...So, during my big ole Wet Ride my legs and hands got soaked. Hein Gericke jacket did the job for the top half but summer belstaf leather gloves and a pair of e…

  16. Started by Cynic,

Just thinking aloud here but i remember when these motors first appeared in 125's and the valve was pegged with carb restrictions and a bloody great washer in the pipe to give 12hp. An hours work and you were on a 20hp rocket. The new engines don't seem nearly so much fun, like the latest stuff has its powervalves operate and they just don't go. The pipe restriction is a little bit. I recon the barrel and PV have been toned down. Opinions?

hi all, i thought my beowulf can was loud but my mate got a remus can on his cbr600f and so mine is no longer loudest Are there any louder cans? Been looking at blueflame evos, any good? Also, I noticed quite a few cheap blueflame cans for bandits, would they work with the t'cat? thanks

  19. Started by Airhead,

A half decent forecast for the next 3 days spurred me to try and start the Bandit up, having flattened the battery once I just managed to get it ticking over (roughly), the next 10 minutes spent trying to open the throttle which has the quirky characteristic of killing it until finally I could give it some revs. Then I noticed one header pipe didnt burn me quite as much as the other three, so then..its new plugs all round when I get some, and I have no idea what sort of job it is to change them, on first glance it looks like tank off. (not looked in the manual yet though) so its the DTR out of hibernation I guess

  20. Started by grey haired git,

Spurred on by the 02 mod success I have been looking at Yamaha Airbox mods. The usual way is to drill 75, 1/8th holes in the plastic surround. With my drilling skills I decided to try alternatives, I bought 4, 1/4in wide rubber tap washers and longer airbox bolts, cut three pieces of heavy duty foam and fixed them to the inside of the cover to make sure the air filter was still pushed flush to the back surround, put the washers between the chrome cover and the black base and tightened down. This leaves a 1/4 inch air gap around the whole of the airbox. Results... smoother running and best of all the sound is now superb with a real growling noise when accelerating. I reali…
