Help needed here. I am going for a "spirit of the seventies" type cafe racer mod to my xs 750. I have a twin disc front wheel off (I think) an xs400 with a 15mm spindle. The original xs750 spindle is 17mm. I am struggling to find bearings that will fit the 18" wheel (42mm OD) with the 17mm ID that i need for the original spindle. has anyone done this mod beofre and can throw a bit of light on this thanks

Hi all, I've had my lovely YZF for 13 years now, but the time has come when knees, elbows and neck have almost given up. I'm not selling her, so what are the best mods for turning her into a streetfighter? She's already got a jacked back end, thanks to a Penske shock and 10mm dropped front forks, Harris rearsets and a loverly Akro pipe, but hwat do I need to do with the bars? How do I hide the electrics? What lights do I use? So many questions, and I really dont know where to start! Cheers in advance for any help, comments, insults, mickey taking, etc.

Hi all, just joined the Yamaha Forum I have an FZ400R C Reg and just got it started after cleaning starter motor and done a bit of wiring repairs and second hand starter coil, tank off and direct petrol feed into fuel pipe and sounded ok but took it for a spin not knowing what to expect power wise and i was shocked there was no power at all and when i put the lights on it was worse! does anyone have an idea what it could be! i think it was standing for some time b4 i got it Many Thanks

Hey guys rapid fire question round ,bought an after market pipe for my uk xvs 1100 a ,from a crowd on the pacific coast in the states,aptly named pacific coast customs ,this is a straight swap for the standard pipes And is supposed to be loud as hell ,now the problem lies in re jetting not that that is a big issue but I don't want the motor running too lean ,I m not interested in performance side just the noise and I don't drive flat out so I don't see much point in re jetting ,now that's my opinion but I m just wondering what you guys think ,and I m just wondering if anyone has done the same and if so had they any problems with starting the bike or when idling ?

Hi everyone, I'm new to the Yamaha Owners Club having recently passed my test and bought a 2002 Thundercat. Bike is lovely BUT it's just developed a problem with the rev counter. Issue is as follows:- Rev Counter now revs to 8K only(on the clock but bike rides ok)and drops back to zero and does this regularly before showing the right revs for a short time then dropping to zero again. Also I have noticed the needle moves to 1K and back to zero. When it does this zero to 1K range the bike has a minor hicup(a sort of miss or jolt). HELP Please anyone got any idea's of what the problem could be as it's now becoming a pain. Cheers

Just a quickie lads do mirrors have to fitted for an MOT?... The ones on my RXS are pretty crappy and would rather take them off if its not part of the MOT

Does anyone know the performance stats of a Benelli Tornado 900 v Yamaha FZR 1000 (96)..? Silly i know, but i reckon the Japanese can do it at half the cost and pomp than the italians..

Hi I have recently been lucky enough to find and buy a brand new xt500 sp in the crate, its a 1988 model the last made , anyone have any tips or advice on what i should do to assemble it , i know the engine is dry stored so it will need oil but should all the settings plugs points valves be factory set? has anyone any experience of pdi for this model or any other new in the crate model? hey guys thanks for all the help previoius to this thread, you guys are top notch. I am trying to figure out my wiring on the lights to my 76 DT400 and need a wiring diagram. I have a manual and i have looked at parts schematics but have not been able to find a complete wiring diagram for my bike to sort it out. If you could either email me one or instruct me on where to find one i would greatly appreciate it. I got a diagram from an awesome memeber on here for a 78DT400 but it has some stuff on it my bike was not equipped with in 76 so i need one for me year. Thanks again gents. Josh

Well anyone thats looked at my garage pics will have seen my sad looking black XJ How she started out This is her now A few small jobs to do, clean and petseal the tank, one overall and final polish of the brightwork. Then hopefully find her a new home, What ye think?

Reading Fuff66UK's thread about him trying to find his first bike, and good luck to him finding it too btw, I got to thinking about my first bike, it was a Honda c50, me and my mate went halves on at £14 quid back in 77, and he kept it at his house cos he had a helmet, lol he's got a nice 'busa nowadays, the bastid, so what was your first bike, and I don't mean something you were riding off road at 11, but road legal aged 16 onwards? Right guys,i keep my project bike in my concrete sectional garage,the problem is it's that damp all my chrome is rusting and due to a health condition this is going to be a long term restoration as i sometimes am not fit enough to do anything to it for weeks on end.So my question is what is the best way to keep rust at bay ? WD40 didn't seem to help much so i thought maybe you guys could suggest something. Thanks Al

Hello there, I am Daniel, and I have just joined this forum. I own a 125 YBR 2006/2007 which I have had for under a year now. I wonder if someone might be able to advise me, but various plastic lugs have broken off the inside of my left hand fairing, the one that comes off to access the battery. As such the fairing doesnt quite secure on as well as it should do. I am looking for a new, replacement OEM fairing for it, but I dont know where to get such a thing. Initial internet searches havent come up with anythign directly relevant. I dont wish to attempt a bodge repair by sticking bits of plastic on with glue. If anyone knows where I should look, then that wo…
