Help .... I have just bought a 1998 R1 and the clutch action feels like it is set in concrete. So far I have removed the clutch cable, which is free to move, as is the clutch lever. I have also had the clutch cover off and the clutch arm moves freely, no notchiness from the bearings. The previous owner tells me he had a new clutch fitted. Any one have any ideas Cheers Steve

Merv asked for some piccies once they were finished. Paul sends photo's of them so you can see em before he sends them to you. In the pics they look spot on, the gold looks to be just right too. Not anodised, both the hubs and rims have been powder coated as obviously neither the rims or hubs are new enough for anodising without extensive (expensive) work. More so with the rims as the front has a repair (you have to know where to look to see it though) and it means i still have ALL the original bits on the bike. Anyway, all in for under 250quid, rims and hubs were strpped then powder coated, new stainless spokes made specifically for each application. Non…

hi guys, ive just bought my first real bike a 1997 xj 600n and im attempting to make it into a masterpiece. ive just got a few questions that id like to put forward to all you guys. first does anyone know if a similar year fazer rear wheel will fit on an xj? second will most mono-shocks from the same year fit the xj im trying to jack it up abit at the back? third is there a 4-4 downpipe or one that lifts the exhaust up as they are low as standard? i have some pics of the bike when i got it but i need to upload them. the previous owner had dropped it a few times and the exhaust was snapped at the 2-1 on the left section. i have latter noticed that the clutch pedal…

Mentioned in 'fried-eggs' post 'the scheme', a cutting edge, toe curling view of sections of this country and the state we're in, 4th major power globaly, shamefull and depressing viewing, dont know if it will be shown south of Hadrians wall-if it is, it will probably have subtitles http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/search/?q=The%20Scheme

I have a 2003 v-star 1100 classic that is having trouble starting. It is acting like a bad battery. I replaced the battery and the problem has not changed. It even has trouble starting when hooked up to a charger. Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be the problem? I would greatly appreciate any advice.

I wish to change the standard exhaust for a pair of pipes that make the XVS1300 sound off loud. The helpfull guys at Custom Wizard (Sheffield, stockists of H&H) could not say if my ECU would need remapping ( a gizmo called a Power Commander .....bl***dy expensive and MAY be needed). So any one out there tried these pipes....without screwing up the performace of the bike? by the by, this model is fuel injected. Appreciate your input. Regards Tony

Hey guys , i recently purchased a Yamaha TW 125 only to find there was a slight problem. Whenever i put the choke in, the bike would cut out, so i took it down to a local mechanic, he had a gander and said i'm missing a mixture screw from the carberettor. Unfortunately i have no idea what this is so i looked online to find a spare and found a diagram sheet for the carb where you can purchase spares, i have have no idea which one the mixture screw is so if anyone could point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated , cheers Carb diagram sheet. http://www.yamahascooterspares.co.uk/spares/epc2.asp?PageiD=8&modelID=9794

I'm having serious problems with my little Gen'. After spending the last year SORN after the master cylinder went (and i acquired the speed triple ) I sent her off to a local fixer to get put right. During her time of inactivity some running problems occurred so I asked for this to be sorted aswell. I finally got her back this week sporting a new battery, new carbs, new jets, a request to remove my nice little race can as the setup required some back pressure and a clean bill of health. All was rosy in my world.....until i came to use her for the 3rd time and nothing. The starter motor was spinning nice and freely, the fuel pump whizzing away and the exhaust honked of f…

Im wondering on how to go about using glitter and spray paint cans for my aerox panels. i have red glitter flakes that look the nuts, and the panels will be black so it would be red glitter on black.. but my question is.... Does anyone know what the best way to go about this is?? or has anyone tried it before with good or pony results ? like black on first, then glitter on so it sticks to the sticky paint then layers of laquer? im not sure on this... i need to paint it on the cheapish side of things hence spray cans,so i can then sell it to fund something else with a turbo as im quite broke at the mo :\ but any help or advice will be brilliant thanks.
