Hi all, without wanting to sound like a total idiot I'm wondering if my bike is 2-stroke or 4-stroke? I have a 1997 SR 125. What are the main differences between 2 and 4, and is there something you must do differently for each? I could just head off to google I guess but then why join a forum if I'm not going to ask you guys for help. I have no mechanical background whatsoever so be gentle please!

Hi I have a 2003 R1. The bike has developed an odd electrical problem where the headlights do not work (tail-light works ok), the indicators are on permanently (but dimmer than normal) and the high beam indicator blue light is permanently on. Anyone else had this problem and know where to look to fix it. Thanks S

Hi, I'm new to this site but I'm hoping someone on here can help me. I got a 1990 pre-diversion XJ600 a few months ago and it ran fine for a month and then one morning just wouldn't start. It was running OK the evening before but that was it the next morning. It turned over & over until the battery was nearly flat. Recharged it over night and tried again but no good. A friend looked over the electrics and said it was the CDI as all else looked ok except there was no spark. £90 later for another CDI and still no go! (That will be on Ebay when I get the bike going again!!) I'm now working my way through the Haynes manual of reasons for not starting and would…

Hi all, Just got into this biking game and am a complete newb! Managed to pick up a pretty nice YBR 125 57 plate but it needs some TLC as last owner hasnt done the best job looking after it. It didnt come with a user manuel so would be very useful if anyone has a link! Current problem, apart from cleaning rust off it!, is: Ignition button works fine - Engine sounds like its ticking over quite happily, but as i put her into first, the engine cuts out and the engine warning light flashes twice. Any ideas? Any info about cleaning rust off and anything else whould be fab! So happy to be joining the 2 wheeled family! Thanks, Mike

hi,im putting a new gasket on my yamaha 125 and going to put sealer on it i was just wondering if to put it on the gasket or on the cylinder and head? never put sealer on before! thx

Hi Guys,I"m trying to trace a bike i used to own way back in 1976,it was an rd400 MUX853P,SOLD IN TELFORD SHROPSHIRE.Checked on dvla site it is alive and taxed,can"t believe it.According to them it is now black in colour,if anyone knows of this bikes whereabouts or any info about it please let me know,Cheers STEVE

ive just bought a yamaha tdr 125 deltabox its 2003 fella i got it if saying its bin garaged afew years ive drained petrol and it drives ok but want to service it was just wondering wat oil .coolant .and sparkplug etc to use ??

Hey, I've been riding about 4 months now and am loving it. Got my theory test booked for a couple of weeks time and hope to get my full license and upgrade to an R6 in September. However, i bought this bike 4 months ago, it,s an 2008 plate and really is stunning. The only problem is I'm sure at some point between my home and getting to work i get a really powerful clutch smell. I'm not 100% sure it's me but seem to get more and more paranoid. I've driven a car for years so I'm not really that inexperienced and know how to operate vehicles so I'm not sure whether I'm not shifting quick enough or whether there is a problem with the bike. Hi all. New to the club and new to biking, but very excited to have my first bike, a 2008 YBR125 and looking forward to it taking me towards my test. Took it for a good spin the other day (3rd day I had it) to see what i could get out of it. About 65 i reckon which isn't to bad considering I weigh 15 stone. Anyway since then I am almost sure that the note of the engine has changed. Now I don't know if I'm being a bit paranoid about my new baby but I swear the note has got deeper/rougher and almost a bit 'growly'. Even when I'm crusing down the road before my house in 3rd/4th gear, no throttle, there is an underlying growl. Don't think it's the exhausut but I suppo…

Hi y'all not been on for a while been waiting for my exhausts to arrive.. as you know i had great enthusiasm and excitment about changing the exhausts n studs on my bike but with them not turning up i decided to checked back n read the not so obviouse print at the bottom of the page to my horror it said 12 to 14 days whaaaaaaat!!! so im a bit miffed i didnt read that, so ive been titivating the bike a bit, not too much as this would detract from what i want from the bike so i haven't had much to report on,except still here waiting for them to arrive oh moving to Tidworth soon
