For the first time in a long time, I am no longer a Yamaha owner I've just sold my beloved XVS650 Classic to a very nice chap who seems to adore it, so it's off to a good home. I have bought another bike, it's just not a Yamaha.......It's a HARLEY DAVIDSON Baby! Whadya reckon to this....... HARLEY F$%KIN' DAVIDSON BABY!!!!!! So I guess the question is.......as a non Yamaha owner, am I still welcome in the Yamaha owners club?

My 2003 R1 with 43500miles on it has been serviced every 5000miles and had a oil and filter changed every 2-3k. The bike started to idle a little rough (hunting) and I hoped the mechanic can sort it when it when for it's service. He told me that my injectors seems to be clogged and that I should try a fuel additive or get them cleaned, but then I won't have something to commute on... I haven't had a chance to slap her around hard for a while now (just the London commute), I have noticed my exhaust is black inside and when I ride slowly I can swear I am smelling fuel... I tried the ProLong injector cleaner, which seemed to work for a while, but hardly 500 miles la…

Cor i have a blocked pilot jet on the TDR, you would not believe the hassle getting to the carbs. You have to practically take the whole bloody bike to bits, drop the coolant, all the bodywork, tank, exhausts, airbox, what a performance. All for a squirt of carb cleaner, at least i can get in there and clean them up a bit. Might replace the fuel/oil pipe as well. I've been spoilt by the DT, losen 2 screws whip the throttle slide out and rotate the carb, remove float bowl. If your changing the jet its even less as there is a plug in the float bowl that makes it even quicker.

(Sorry if this is in the wrong section!) I recently bought an XJ600 for when I pass my test. I know I shouldn't buy one until after I pass, but it was £400 from a friend, on a 2000 plate. Perfection condition with a couple of nice extras e.g. Nexus Exhaust - So I couldn't pass it up! My question is: Is it worth getting it restricted for the £200 I'm going to have to pay? Money is tight these days... Would I ever get caught if I drove it without the restriction for the 2 years I'm going to have to wait? Cheers!

hello, recently i purchased a 1999 Yamaha SR 125 off ebay for £450. and i need some advice as things seam to be dodgey, it was supposed to come on saturday however the owner couldn't find the V5 and so it has been delayed, i later found out (after he rang the DVLA) that no V5 had ever been issued and so this was the first one and therefore free, i have asked for the MOT certificates as i want proof that it is MOT'D. also when i tried to get a quote for the insurance using the registration plate the insurance company and comparison website stated that the registration plate and bike didnt exist, i tried doing a text check on the registration and again nothing, however upon…

I woke up this morning with my alarm sounding and by the time I got out the front door the culprit was gone. I just woke up, so I didn't think of taking pictures at the time. After I lifted it back up and checked for visual damage I only found damage where the engine, fairing and road met this morning. I had it covered with good cover at least! I think I know who it was. I was parked on the street with my nose to my front door, about 4ft behind a 4x4 Merc and on my left a white Ford. My left mirror was bent flat as the vehicle reversed into my bike. The other thing that makes me more sure that it was the 4x4 is that the car that was parked in front of the Merc was …

I took the SV to the local (to work) Yamaha dealer today for it's MOT. I had pre-booked for 12 but got there at 11 for a while you wait ticket. The main shop and the workshop are about 300 yards apart and it was a little difficult to find as it is above Kwikfit (strange but true). Sorted it straight away. Passed. £30 lighter. Scary slope out of the place. Recommended. CMC Nottingham LINKY

long story short - i bought a chinese bike, it was rubbish, so i ended up in a dispute with the dealer and i didnt register the bike in my name as i thought it would be going back to the seller soon. i didnt have the V5 with the bike, it was supplied with just the new keeper slip. the bike has now been stolen and I'm not registered as the keeper, is there anyway i can get it registered? the form for a new V5 needs to have the VIN number, which i dont have, i bought a HPI check but that just gives the engine number, not the VIN. i know i'm a numpty for not registering it, and this whole disaster has taught me some lessons, but i really need the insurance to pay o…
