0-60 times are really hard to come by for most bikes so does anyone have any idea with the XV750 Virago? Sorry if this sort of thread already exists in the forum but its really hard to search as the search system doesn't like '0 - 60' or '0 to 60'

Hi... I am after some advice. As the wife is expecting our 2nd nipper, she's gone off the boil on the bike outings (SHAME!) so a local lad has expressed his interest in buying my XJ600f 1989 pre-diversion. Only problem is the bike has 72bhp and he needs to restrict it to 33bhp... is this possible with this model and if so, where does he get the parts from? How much will it cost? THANKS.... You are always a mine of info. on the site..... I love my bike, but she's going, going and nearly Gone.... (I AM offcially very sad!)

Just bought my 07 Vstar 1300 and am approaching the first valve adjutment interval. The Yamaha maintenance manual states that you have to drain engine coolant, remove throttle bodies, intake manifold assemblies, thermostat inlet hoses etc. Has anyone done a valve adjustment on this bike? Is all this draining and removal really necessary? Thanks for your input.

I just got linked to this, I know it's a Harley, not a Yamaha, but his bike control is incredible. Apologies if you've all seen it before. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=pJxOsYh12yY Also, as a newbie, i hope this is the right place for this, as i didn't want to put it in the vid section as it's not a yam.

Hi folks...has anyone ever filed/sanded down the sides of their tyre so that it's less squared off? If this is a really bad idea then can someone tell me why. Also is there a way of getting the shape back so as not to have to buy a new rear? All help appreciated. KW

Hay guys, this is my first post here and I know almost nothing about bikes so please excuse my ignorance. I'm 21 and drive a Peugeot 406 which I love for its space and comfort (I personally like how it looks too) but its not exactly nippy and I often wish it gave a little bit more when I want to drive it quickly. I wish I could afford a bigger car but they are expensive to buy and insure so that is out of the question right now. Recently a friend suggested a bike could add a little spice back to my motoring, he assured me even a 125 would be faster (accelerating) and more fun than my car. I had always dismissed bikes because of the perceived danger but the idea of …

Help, Does anybody know what size screw holds the Ignition starter switch housing together from behind and below? - it looked like a round head machine screw before it fell onto the lawn,,,,,,,,,,,,, And do you have one to send to a Londoner? (Two might be a good idea, as I am fairly clumsy.)

How do you guys with the old DT's carry your cards? I've got nowhere to carry my Insurance Card & Registration Card on my 1978 DT125, unless i shove em somewhere the sun don't shine. lol. I kind of wanted to build a tiny Luggage Rack to mount behind the seat, something capable of hauling small items : Roll of Welding Wire (for a MIG Welder), Maybe a box of Spark Plugs for a Car, you know that kind of stuff. If I do that, I'll build a Glovebox under it to hold my cards. But until then, anybody have some suggestions?

hi there all, does any yamaha owner know where i can lay my hands on an ignition switch with keys for a 1990 XZR400 IWG it has to have three cable connectors one red one white and one green with two leads in each, all the ones i have found so far only have two connecting leads but the one i have on there at the moment has three i need to replace it because somewhere in its past life the ignition key seemed to have been a screwdriver ,or anything with a flat end, so its easy to start and ride off with. not good.. anyone out there got any ideas?
