Picked up a '78 XS400E couple weeks ago. It is my first bike in 35 years and my first street bike ever. Have been busy with work and all but ordered some parts and supplies (cost = 2x what I paid for bike, ebay+paypal=easygo) in preparation along with devising a game plan.Tomorrow the fun begins the weather is going to be unseasonable milt for a few days and I am hoping to clean the tank and carbs, perform tune up, install mufflers and will video results of start up and running (optimistic) and post results.

Morning All I've just serviced my 600fzs fazer 2002 and everything seems to be running perfectly. The bike is new to me since passing my test in October and since riding it for the first time there has always been what I can only describe as a Howling/sreaming noise that seems to be coming from the front end. It doesn't kick in until about 25mph and gets progressively louder and the pitch gets higher the faster you go! It's had new quality brake pads, there is no play in the front bearing at all and the break discs are in excellent condition. I've even taken off the front mud guard extension to see if that was rubbing on the nearly new tyre to see if that makes a diffe…

When I did my CBT the guy told me that it will cost me around £700-800 altogether to get my full licence. I'm at the point now where I need to do it because my 125 is just not giving me that buzz any more, even though still love it. To be honest I feel like a dick head on it especially when other bikers pull up at the side of me. The other day some guy on a big street fighter looked me up and down and burst out laughing at me, and the other favourite is just straight dusting me off at lights etc. I've even had a few scooters try it on. Anyway I phoned this other place up today and he said it will cost £400 all inclusive! Lessons and the lot. To be fair I won't need a lot …

hi all i have had my 1996 thundercat for just under 2 years now and for the past 4 months in my spare time i have been taking the engine apart and rebuilding it due to killing the gearbox...... after encountering a few other problems which have been overcome and managed i am now in the final stages of rebuild and the crank seems to be binding when its all built up. I am completely baffled i have taken apart and reassembled the top part of the engine multiple times to no avail. All i can say that the noise it makes when turned over is a grinding, rubbing sound and its coming from piston 3 area.... i think. Help......

I need to fine tune my carbs on 1976 RD 400D. When I accelerate mid throttle the bike splutters a little before picking up speed. I think the carbs need adjusting. Any ideas, suggestions or info will be great. Cheers, Sean.

I have run my bike on Shell V-Power since getting it. I know people will say that it makes no difference, but it does, and the extra 8 pence more it costs than regular fuel is nothing, especially as it only costs £13 odd to fill her up. Anyway the other day I got caught out and had to use a Jet garage. Jet don't even have a quality equivalent to V-Power so I had to put their regular unleaded in. I noticed how different my bike was, it was sluggish and slower and the engine rattled like fuck. It wasn't good at all. I then put some Shell in it and it was okay after a while. It definitely makes a difference buying super unleaded.

ive installed a new topbox with intergrated brake lights, and the wire powering these is left bare in the kit, so i chopped the existing line, and chock-blocked the three bare wires together. a few days ago, i found that my brake lights weren't working at all, so i investigated and found that i'd gone over a bump too fast and one side of the chock block had lost its wires, not hard to fix, but i had no idea how long i had no brake lights for does anyone know a better way to secure the wires so that i don't have to worry about the speed humps on the way to work? thanks

On my home from work I got pulled by the the police. This was the third time since getting my bike in March. I was not breaking any laws. The copper said I was doing over 50 on a 40 road, when in fact I was doing 38. The copper then tried telling me how fast my bike was (lmao) I then corrected him saying that my machine is only capable of 10hp and it is a very slow bike. It is even below the legal power requirement. I carried on protesting my innocence. He then began the old 'so your calling me a liar' routine. I said well you must have me doing over 50 mph on your camera. He then went over my bike with a fine tooth comb trying to do me for a defect, while his colleague …
