Well I got my bike rebuilt consisting of Piston, rings small end bairings, athena gasket, carbon reeds and changed the head to a 3mb everything went fine took a few hours fired her up and she sounded perfect a little smokey but that will be due to me oiling up the barrel with 2t oil. Anyway I left her ticking over for 10 mins like I normally do went back into garage and there was steam coming from radiator cap and the temp was sky high.... I'm beginning to wonder if the head might be warped or something? Is it possible to have airlock??? I'm going to be having another look tomorrow but I want a few pointers as to what I should be looking for? I just turned her off a…

  5. Hi I recently emptied my engine oil for a refill and also put in a new set of clutch plates. Now i have everything back together. No engine oil is in it. would this be the reason for my clutch lever to have no force/resistance in it? If i refill the oil would the clutch lever comes back to life? Cheers in advance for the help!

me again.. decided to change the reed block on my rxs. already had a spare and fiber reeds installed on that. so i went about doing that. I noticed that most of the bolt heads were 10mm but 1 was 11mm they were all sorts of diferent lengths 1 was barley long enough to gain purchace on to the actuall cylinder.. so im wondering what bolts should i get for it. il probably get them from yambits if they have them. but i need to know which.

Well, I picked up my Fazer today from Bike543 in Oldham. Just ridden back to Leeds in the peeing rain, come off M621 brake and there's vibrations throughout the handlebars. By the time I get to my house it seems more noticeable (though not really used brakes on motorways unlike riding through city traffic). Pop it on centre stand at home, pull front wheel forwards & backwards and there's loads of movement. Very surprised as they had it MOT'd last week for me to pick up. Does make me wonder if there's anything else up with it...? Anyway, I've given them a call & they said they'll get back to me. Hopefully won't take too long as was looking forward to getting out …

Hey peeps, There's been something brewing in the depths of my skull for a while now, and it came out in conversation with some lads at the pub last week. basically, ive been planning a project for the past year or so, and now i've gotten rid of one of my old minis im more likely to be able to do it, i want to find a pre-1972 bike (probably a CZ or Honda CB as they are cheap and plentifull) and use its frame as a basis for a custom built tax-exempt toy with an inline twin engine of around 500cc, spoked wheels with retro cafe-racer styling. So, say for example i got myself a 1971 CB250 and used its frame and V5 as my base, all the other parts will either be handmad…

  11. Hi there peeps i have been hoarding parts for my DT50MX project for a few months now but there is one part that no breaker seems to have and appear to more rare than rocking horse sh*t made of unobtanium with hens teeth in it. It is the rear light bracket/assembly, which also holds the number plate, i have bought a universal stop/tail light for the time being but it would require new mounting holes to be drilled in the rear mudguard and bracket and is not the original part which sort of defies the whole point of this project in addition to requiring a self-fabricated number plate mount. is there a way that i can find the part number, and find out which other m…

A friend of mine is rebuilding a 2004 Dt125re, the bike was bought as an incomplete project the engine fitted is a 4GW which I think is a TDR. The engine runs and sounds sweet but the only problem we have is the YPVS system dosn't work, It originaly came with a 3 wire servo that didn't match the loom, so we aquired a 5 wire plugged it in, nothing, The wiring loom looks to be the original and we've checked it for condition & continuity. What I do want to know, is if there should be power to the YPVS servo when the ignitions turned on, so that it can go through its cleaning process, if so ,where does the power come from ? my guess is the cdi unit. The CDI i…

I just purchased a 2005 yamaha with the title titling the bike as an r7.I did some research and found that it came from Greece. It has 51 kilometers on it.The vin# reads rn121-018063.The engine #n509e 021915.Is this a true european r7 or just a european r1?The bike was seized by u.s. customs and sat for 6 years.

Ha sorry to disappoint you I'm not about to slope off just yet Father put his 3 year old daughter to bed, told her a story and listened to her prayers which ended by saying, "God bless Mommy, God bless Daddy, God bless Grandma and good-bye Grandpa." The father asked, 'Why did you say good-bye Grandpa?' The little girl said, "I don't know daddy, it just seemed like the right thing to say." The next day grandpa died. The father thought it was a strange coincidence. A few months later the father put the girl to bed and listened to her prayers which went like this, "God bless Mommy, God Bless Daddy and good-bye Grandma." The next day the grandmother died. "Holy Moses…

Hey peeps, Was outside the block having a smoke earlier when i caught a glimpse of my poor DT, sat over in the car park covered in shite, long story short its now in my bedroom. ive taken the tank/seat off and started running the wires through to make a new wiring loom, other than that this is the condition it was in when i loaded it into the back of my Kia all the way from Colwyn Bay to Didcot . It's just like a little puppy that looks at you with a cute face after taking a dump in your bed, you just wanna give it a cuddle :3 behind it there's a rear window for a classic mini, two mini exhausts sat beside it, a weight bar i never use, a guitar that…
