Everyone, i would like to thank the administrator for adding me to this group. There's nothing like like minded Yamaha owners to chat and ride out with. I hope to meet some of you in person at some point at a rally or local get together.

Few new things you might notice: Post before registering - allows new users to pre post and then register. Hopefully that'll help increase our members Animated GIFs - Not sold on this, but I've had a few requests so let's see how it goes Faster! - Lazy loading images and better image optimization As always let me know if you notice any issues. Performed a 1000km oil/oil filter service. Had to add 2L of oil to get the correct dip stick reading. The manual states 1L is this a concern? Dip stick reading was taken several times cold/warm engine with the bike level.

Hi all, what would be your most up to date best tips, equipment suggestions to best manage a battery? TL/DR: I've just returned back from a two week holiday and the bike wouldn't turn over. I hooked it up to the charger overnight (I got the green light!) but still no luck. The bike is a 2014 build but just over 3k + a new battery just over a month ago.I've done lots of research online and I never realised how much care the battery needs - I think this is the same for fellow new bike riders. I live in a flat so no chance of a constant trickle charge/mains/overnight option - Office car park is secure but no power options either. Thanks and look forward t…

Following on from our wee chat about Triumph leaking straight from the factory I ordered a new cam cover gasket, 4 new stretch bolts and 4 seals and got a call today to collect them. Up to Glasgow I went and the guy tells me £76, "whit for a gasket and 4 bolts" "Oh wait" says the guy, "they have sent up 4 gaskets and 1 bolt" They must know it's a leaky bike ?? Anyway a nice wee run over the moors on the way home

As per the title, has anyone used or owns the ABBA superbike lift? I only ask as with the FJR it's a frigging nightmare every 2 years greasing the centre stand and pivot points on the suspension as the only way to do this is take the centre stand off and then dismantle the suspension, which as you can imagine with no centre stand and no suspension means that balancing the bike upright can be a little iffy! last time it cost me a new screen when it fell over (bollocks!!!) The FJ club are using one and they sell them but like everything it's nice to ask those that use an item rather than those that sell them! It's not cheap at just over a £100 plus fitting kit but as the co…

Dear all just joined, sorry for the naivity I have just purchased an 1989 yb100 that needs some work which that is the reason I purchased it the guy who I got it off has had it running, as so have i but it only runs when the choke is on, and dies when switched off. i want to give the bike a complete overhaul, so starting from the beginning isn’t an issue. should the throttle stop screw be full tightened Also when I remove the bung on the side to get access to the pilot air screw, it would seem that this is also fully tightened and will not budge. once again apologies for my naivity any help would be great regards …

After months of looking online, I have at last found New Engine Pistons which are for the Yamaha XT225 70mm which means they will be over sized from the standard XJ But will need to check Top of the piston to Gudgeon Pin which needs to be 16mm Hope this helps

Hoping someone can help! When I bought it I took it for a few short rides - no issues. One day it really didnt want to run and was only runing on a few cylinders. I thought it was dirt in the carbs so cleaned them out - pilot jets werent great so took the opportunity to replace. No change. It seemed like it could be ignition issues so i replaced the coils - no change - I then found that one of the plugs was faulty, so replaced all and it then idled well but would bog down/had no power. To me it seems like its got to be the carbs, I just cant tell what difference it is making when i pull it apart and rebuild it. Everytime it purrs after the build and im grinning like…
