Hi I have a tdm 900 (2005) , done 40k and looked after. It's recently developed a noise from the front sprocket, a rattle and grinding noise on overrun. I adjusted the chain which seemed to improve it slightly. I'm sure it could be a bearing on the output shaft. Any ideas or anyone suffered a similar fault?

Been thinking about getting a Yamaha YZF 600 Thundercat. I know its not got the street cred of the Fazer/r6 ect but they are suppose to be good bikes for tall ppl, good on fuel+comfy for the mways/touring as well as fun for a blast. Prices are rather cheap 2. Been reading mixed reviews on the Interweb and was wondering what knowledge you legends had about them, common faults what to watch out for when buying, good points/bad point ect. Cheers Kevin

  6. So my bike broke down a few days ago at work, cut out outside of work and started a few times while at work, but eventually stopped starting completely! I've changed my battery, spark plug and ignition coil and now I am completely lost to what's happened! The bike won't even bump start

Hi all, I'm looking to buy some liners for my hard yamaha panniers fitted on an XVS1300 midnight star. I seem to be able to get some from the USA but only if I am prepared to spend way more on postage than the cost of the liners! Is anyone aware of other options? Thanks

  8. I know I should be in the "for sale" section, but I'm giving this away for nothing. The only stipulation is whoever want's it must collect from Chippenham, Wiltshire. Also the only drawback is that about 15 years ago the tank sprung a leak, as you can see I have sealed the bottom of the tank but I think that the inside of the tank will need some sort of internal sealant. BTW, the colour is "Dark Siam Metallic"

  9. Started by slice,

So as I asked a few weeks ago "was the ABBA superbike lift any good?" Well to cut a long story short SWMBO has bought it for me for my birthday (YAY) it turned up in several boxes, well what's a birthday without something to open! and she had got me the whole kit and caboodle, I mean the lift the trolly widget and the extension arms for front and rear wheel removal. So I can now take the wheels off and still move the bugger around the garage. It was expensive tho just under 3 hundred quid. Anyway the point of this missive is to say that the thing is just brilliant, after you have attached the bobbins to the bike it's a simple matter to just hoike it into the air with one …

Ok so just wanted to ask, has anyone got one of these TPMS thingy's attached to there bike? I have it on the car but wondered if it was worth it for the bike, I also have 90 deg valves on the bike so would this make a difference? Oh and just for the folks that don't know what it is (cos I didn't at first) it is the TYRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM, apparently it comes with a small LCD screen and 2 valve covers that can be set to specific pressures both high and low and at only about £30 odd quid for the set it seems pretty nifty and stops you having to get down on your knees to check the pressures every couple of days (weeks! MONTHS for some of us)

  11. Started by Tommy xs,

Ok long story short. I was on the YOC weekend ride out but my phone died and I couldn’t get it to charge, the charger port has been faulty for a while so I’ve been using a wireless charger at home, but shit for brains here didn’t bring it with me. Anyway I was telling the guys & bipps in the pub and finners said oh yes that happens to me a lot, you need to make a small plastic hook and poke it in the port you’ll be amazed how much crap comes out. Well I never got round to it while I was away to be honest it was quite nice not have phone for the weekend. But gave it a go when I got home. Wow how much crap can fit there is amazing thanks Finnerz iPhone charges perf…

  12. Well I sort of got this video uploaded and hope you all enjoy it, it's only a flavour of the day but it was fun out there never the less. I'm sorry about the language on the video if you show it to your kids or partners please turn the volume down! Well here goes nothing. Also it seems I have had my camera set on 480p not the 1080p it should have been so the quality is well to be honest crap, I will see if I can upload an better version later. https://youtu.be/wLROAaQliVo

  13. Started by Alex,

I've just purchased a windjammer but stupidly didn't think about the fact that I have an intercom and a video camera glued on the side so can't use it. Does anyone know of one which can be fitted internally somehow?

Everyone, i would like to thank the administrator for adding me to this group. There's nothing like like minded Yamaha owners to chat and ride out with. I hope to meet some of you in person at some point at a rally or local get together.

Performed a 1000km oil/oil filter service. Had to add 2L of oil to get the correct dip stick reading. The manual states 1L is this a concern? Dip stick reading was taken several times cold/warm engine with the bike level.

Hi all, what would be your most up to date best tips, equipment suggestions to best manage a battery? TL/DR: I've just returned back from a two week holiday and the bike wouldn't turn over. I hooked it up to the charger overnight (I got the green light!) but still no luck. The bike is a 2014 build but just over 3k + a new battery just over a month ago.I've done lots of research online and I never realised how much care the battery needs - I think this is the same for fellow new bike riders. I live in a flat so no chance of a constant trickle charge/mains/overnight option - Office car park is secure but no power options either. Thanks and look forward t…
