  1. It's good to see you're keeping up the image of the petrol drinking, hard riding, baby eating biker
  2. Honda CB500. Bigger than the learner's bikes but not so big that it's intimidating.
  3. Unfortunately you could be stark naked and turning somersaults on your bike and you'd still get some arse in a car saying sorry mate I didn't see you. You have to think for them because they don't. Congrats on passing the CBT and enjoy it, it only gets better.
  4. I always use Bridgestone Battlax BT45 tyres. They're dual compoud, harder in the middle for wear and softer on the edges for cornering grip. I get around 12000 ish miles out of them.
  5. Ride as though every car driver is actively trying to killl you. You have to think for them 'cos they don't. Other than that, have fun it only gets better.
  6. I really meant thank you. That particular niece is mummy's little Princess and needs a good scare every now and then. [emoji83]
  7. Bloody hell they start young in Portugal, he's only 2!
  8. Looks very tidy. Many miles of fun to be had.
  9. Thank you. You just completely freaked out my seven year old niece
  10. Try Redex petrol system cleaner. Give it a double dose then go take it for a blast up the nearest motorway.
  11. I as run off the road on my GT750. The bike went in to a ditch and I slid down the road about 150 yards on my front. The bike gear and this crash hat did their jobs and all I suffered was bruises and sore bones. An open faced helmet would have been a very different ending. W***er didn't even stop to see ifI was alive.
  12. This is my problem with open faced helmets. If I'd been wearing one on this particular day I wouldn't have much of a face left.
  13. My CB750 failed it's test because the petrol tap seal had started to perish an fuel was seeping out. I hadn't noticed it because it wasn't dripping yet just wet around the seal. If the tester hadn't spotted it that could have been petrol dripping on a hot engine. On the other hand the TR1 failed it's last MOT because the bracket that holds the mirror on had cracked and my chemical metal repair wasn't 'adequate'. There are good things and bad things about the current test for older bikes. I think a test is necessary but the age of the bike should determine the criteria for what's tested.
