  1. Yeah, I invested in a decent jacket with thermal lining etc etc. Got some waterproof trousers to wear over the top. Semi Decent gloves to see how i get on, may get some warmer ones. Socks is a good shout, Will have to make sure about that. I have a snoot on order, so thats on its way. Chain wise, extra lubing? Heard lots of things about ACF 50? worth buying, does it need regular coating or once every now and again. Bike wise, it is more about getting it though the winter in as good condition as i can to resell after by full tests.
  2. So, Again, another noob question. I know some people don't ride in the winter months, but due to commuting, I will have to. So, what advise do you guys give to a newbie in the rain. Are there particular things that are deceivingly slippy on the road etc etc. Also, what about maintenance, is there anything i should be making sure i do on a regular basis to help the bike though the winter?
  3. Ahh fab. It would be a slow ride as I am on a YBR at the moment, But would be good to meet up with you guys down there
  4. So, Wanting to keep my bike in good nick, 1 for looks, but also knowing I will be selling in a years time once I Pass my full test. Do you guys have any tips on cleaning off and preventing/slowing down rust? Also, any other cleaning and upkeep tips would be appreciated Hope you are all having a good weekend.
  5. So, random question and something I haven't even thought about before, but do you guys spend the extra on the premium stuff. If so, any brand preference? Any Brands to avoid?

    Down South?

Really loving riding at the moment. Apart from having to shadow hop when I park it, I am having a lot of fun... Is there anyone here from Hampshire or local to Hampshire?
  7. I did think the same to be honest. I think it is my noob worry that is making me think about the genuine part. I really appreciate your help. In your experience do you know if this is the part that will fix the problem. Thank you.
  8. After contacting A local Yamaha Dealer, they are contacting Yamaha to see if they will honour the recall and give me the fuel pump free. Long process as it all has to be done by hand and faxed though. Fingers crossed, if not, I will have to take the hit.
  9. (Important info = YBR 127 2007 Fuel Injection) So, been loving the YBR and riding in general. Been very lucky with the weather, so perfect for me to get some experience miles in. Back at work today, so set of, bike started first time no problem, (parked in the shade) Left it in the car park during the day, decided to meet the Mrs for lunch. (mainly just an excuse to ride, but we won't tell her that). (parked in the sun / a little bit of shade) Went to start it; nothing, Not a sausage. Ticked over, but no go. Turned off and back on again, paying even more attention, noticing that there was no wurring (however you spell it) noise. Pressed the started button, lots of ticking over but again no ignition. Frustrated I did lots of research, and ended up trying the wet cold towel on the tank, it started no problem. Ok... so to my point and question to the experts: Is the sun really having that much of an effect, if so why, what is happening? what is the cause? Secondly there seems to be two fixs: the first,. buying a, what seems very cheap, fuel pump from ebay or getting a genuine one from Yamaha. Is the cheap one ok, or an i right in thinking that is is better get the genuine one, bearing in mind the value of the bike itself. (The pump is £250 and the is £1000-£1100). Anyway, that is alot of babble there, so if you have made it through, I would love to know thoughts and opinions from you and if you have had the same problems. Thank you, Nathan
  10. Here is a question that is again a bit noob, but something that you may like to indulge in a little. What do you do on a weekly / monthly basis in terms of maintenance / checks and cleaning?
