WhatsApp is cool, because you can send texts, images and videos as if they were text mesages, but for free over the internet. Farcebook, Twatter and all the other 'Social Media' stuff is mostly useless posts of people telling you they're eating beans on toast, or taking a crap while posting (often with photos to prove it!), or reposting some useless inflamatory bullshit Guardian article. Comparatively few people use it to actually socialise and just keep in touch. I abandoned mine... If being unconnected and out of touch means not wasting my life on other peoples' crap, then I'm happy to stay out of that mundane and shallow loop! I'm surprised that 'Cynic', of all people, took up the reins on this. I await your cynical findings...!

The H-shaped thing is officially a "Cam Cover Gasket", although may also be called a "Rocker Cover Gasket". FJOC does them for £23. You will need the joining fee, but it's worth it if : You expect to buy other parts throught the time you own this bike.You require specialist assistance from the mechanics who know this bike the best.You want access to the documentation on maintenance and servicing.You need good condition 2nd hand parts.

Ooh, that's a bit messy... Engine looks good though and the rusty bits should be easy enough to tidy up. But you're now one of us - You have a 1992 FJ1200 3XW, the exact same model and year as mine!!! You've got the fancy screen on, though. Might want to replace those crappy mirrors for a pair off a Bandit 1250, though. Coming from a Cruiser, you'll find it takes a while to get used to the riding position. Your back, shoulders and wrists may ache until you settle in. If you still have difficulty after a month of decent riding, consider risers - I'm still thinking about it even after a year. Something else that might help are Grip Puppies - They cushion the grips and widen them, being more like the Cruiser you're used to. If you find difficulty in selecting gears or an excessive clunk when dropping into first, this is the result of the seal losing the hydraulic pressure. First sign of a problem is paint missing from the oil filter housing as the hydraulic fluid leaks onto it and strips the paint off. First option is simply replace the seal. If the problem returns in a short time then the answer is to replace the whole unit. I always advocate joining the FJOC, as most of them will have owned this bike since they first came out and know chapter and verse on it (more than Yamaha, even), as well as being a good source for parts (OEM, Aftermarket, 2nd hand, etc). Heck, they got me a replacement back wheel + trye for free!!

Mine was still video back when I passed it in November last year. I never learned the stopping distances. Don't need to, IMO, along with the percentage of pollution that traffic fumes contribute. Knowing this shit doesn't make me a better driver/rider in the slightest. IMO, the 2-second Rule is far more useful than knowing my car (if it's an average one) requires 36' of thinking distance, 29' of reaction distance and 72yds of stopping distance... or whatever... because unless I am going to jump out of my vehicle at 70mph and actually measure these values, it means fuck all. More importantly, whatever averages they may have figured these distances on, the vehicle I have will almost certainly be different. What matters most is that you can maintain a safe following distance and stop within the space you can see is clear. If I have to be going along doing maths based on speeds and distances then my full attention is not on the road and I'm a fucking danger! Learn them for the test, or just hope you don't get asked on them.

Mine got on fine with semi-synth 10w40. Brand of your choice/budget, really. So long as it says Motorcycle Oil and is for 4T/Four-stroke, you'll be good.

Theory is multiple choice. Fairly easy. The bugger IMO is the Hazard Perception, as you're watching pixels on a screen rather than seeing things for real. Instead of seeing a 'thing' that might be a hazard, you're seeing a blocky blur that only comes into focus when you're right atop the bloody thing. They really ought to have at LEAST 1920x1080p res monitors in these centres!

IIRC, it is the 535 - One has only 8L, while the twin tank has 13L.

I'm guessing you haven't worked on many BMWs...? The sump bolt is likely over tightened or torqued up, the later of which may just require a breaker bar. Not quite... The more accurate statement would be: "Don't do it - It will go fucking EVERWHERE!!!!!"... trust me on this!
