Well Hi An Old man here, well middle aged at least that's bought a 1994 DTR 125 from a lad at work who had blown it up.Plan is to strip and rebuild over the winter, have already ripped all old off and replaced plastics, tank and seat with DT125x Stuff, Once everything fits right its getting stripped back down and fully painted/powder coated and supermoto converted and I will use in the better weather for work and hopefully not act my age. hoping to find a few things I need and call on others experience as there is no sham from learning from others mistakes

Hey everyone my name is AR! I'm excited I found a cool forum that can help me gain experience in bike building. I've always loved the old school look of cafe racers and the new school look of street tracker. So I finally gave in and bought my first little project bike about a month ago which is a 1979 Yamaha DT125. Looking forward to reading other peoples forums! Cheers!

Hi, I should have done this last week when I became a member, but at 65yrs old the brain has all sorts of issues (lol). I have been riding bikes for quite a few years, legally since 1970/71 this was a Honda CD175cc which at the time you were allowed to ride on a prov licence. On passing my test I took on the might of a RD 400 what a buzz, then went on to do my Instructors course and gradually rose to the dizzy heights of riding Honda Gold Wings 1200 then the 1500. Which as you get older the heavier they become and had to give up due to not being able to hold it on a slope. Now I am trying to do a rebuild on a 535 Virago which had been fired.

Hi Users , Thought i would register instead of browsing after all i may need help at some point! Previous bikes have been the YBR 124, WR 125 (just sold ) and my new DTR 125 which i am due to pick up in the next 48 hours! Getting a DT as my WR 125 4 stroke had no punch to it at all and even 60Mph was a struggle to hit so i have been pondering on the idea of a 2 stroke for sometime and finally took the plunge only issue is i have never owned one before, anyone have any tips for first time 2 stroke owners in regards to general care of them? ie oil etc Im just used to putting petrol in my previous 4 strokes lol. A bit about me well... im from co…

Hey guys, how's it going? Just joined the forum, I have a new to me 2002 XVS650. Sad side is I have had it for a couple weeks of some fun cruising/commuting to work and have taken a spill. Needless to say I have damaged some parts, I am getting a tank and fenders right now, but I do need to get handlebars and a front fork and lights. Going to a time project since I am out of work due to a broken wrist from the accident,

Hey guys ! First time ever joining a forum and i guessed the YOC was the best option ! The first bike i ever rode legally was a DTR 125 and since then it's always Yamaha i end up with ! I currently have 3 motorcycles , DTR 125 , RS125 ,and Fazer 600. I passed my test about 6 months ago and sadly with the new laws in scotland the fazer has to be restricted ! . So yeah, along with that , i'm 20 , from Caithness (scotland) and i think thats all for now ! Cheers!

  9. Hi all, As the subject implies, I'm new here and thought I'd share a few words. I'm a software engineer and I live in sunny Manchester! (Manchester in the UK not in New Hampshire US) I've always been interested in getting into motorcycling but until recently was never really in a position to learn how to ride a motorcycle and also afford one! But here I am and I have just acquired a Yamaha YZF R125 which I hope will set me off on the great journey to becoming a pro. Cheers,

Hi Guys, I'm having some issues with my XT600e engine head and I will need to replace it in short future unfortunately. One of the exhaust bolt is broken from the 4 and the spark plug comb is on the lose also. I have found "cheap" engine head from US ebay but all of them are for old XT600. So my question is that the "new" 2003 XT600e engine head is compatible with the old XT600 models? (2003 the last XT600 model the changed to new model XT660 as you know) For example: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-XT-600-NC-1985-XT600-Cylinder-Head-and-Rocker-Box-Rockers-/161069941201?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item25808441d1 Or if someone would know so…

Just joined yamaha club after looking into some good sites with active members in older bikes. A friend recently sold me his 1978 Yamaha DT175 that needed a throttle cable and some TLC. Turns out he didnt put the slide on the carb correctly so it was stuck open and ruined the throttle cable somewhere along the lines. Anyways I got it up and running yesterday and have spent most of last night and this morning watching videos, reading guides, and learning what I can about my new toy. Here's a little about myself though. I'm 26, from Dallas, TX. I bartend downtown and work for my family's oil company here and there. I've owned lots of various vehicles and have experienc…

Hi every one, my names Rob. And i at the age of 29 have turned to 2 wheels. About a month ago I purchased a 2000 model Aprillia Ralley 50. Had to get a load of work done to it and threw a bit of money at it aswell. Cut a long story short it didnt go to plan and im now a couple of hundred quid out of pocket with a lemon of a bike. But theres light at the end of the tunnel in this sad tale hahaha. Today I went to my local yamaha dealers and ordered a Brand New YBR 125!! And i will be picking it up some time next week and im very excited!! I havnt had much road time since I done my CBT due to my terrible eye for purchasing bikes. Cant wait to get on here an have some good ch…
