Hiya, just found you despite having my Bulldog for 11 years; I seem to be a bit of a late starter. My husband got her for me as a late 50th birthday present and I wouldn't swap her for anything!

Hi All New to the forum so just saying hi! I'm up in the north of England and have had bikes since I was 16, which was a long time ago unfortunately! Used to proddie race LC's in the eighties, so had a nostalgia trip and bought one to rebuild a couple of years back. After working out how much it cost me I wish I'd kept one of the ones I had from the 80's! Currently have an early 1200 bandit and Ducati 916 as well as the LC. The Ducati was a bit of an indulgence, but they are never going to be cheaper and I can't believe these are available on classic insurance now. Cost me an additional £30 fully comp for the year on the LC's policy! Seemed rude not to. The LC is givin…

Just sayin' hey. I have a 1996 Yamaha YZF750r and absolutely love this thing! I put roughly 5K km's a season on this thing, not really a fair-weather-rider, so I'm pretty much on my bike from April / March straight through until November / December, weather permitting. I hail from London, Ontario, Canada! Cheers! Rockstar

I'm Dave from Dublin. I'm in the process of restoring a 1970 YAS1 with the help of a good mate, Kieran. Picture attached. It's been a long road as loads of parts were missing and the bike itself had been butchered in many ways. But we are getting there and should be finished in a couple of weeks, We've also just bought a 1967 YL1 Sports also for restoration but it should be easier as it appears to be fairly intact. (I had one of these back in 1970 so it's a nostalgia thing!) Cheers and I look forward to being a member.

Hi All. I am new to this site, but am a member of the GTS1000 owner's club forum, and was a member of the UK BT1100 forum until it closed in January this year. I have tried the German BT1100 forum, but I have several issues with access and language so have given up on it. About me. I am approaching 60 years young, and have been riding continuously since just after my 17th birthday, and have never been without a bike. In fact, I reckon I have owned well over 1000 bikes in my 40-odd years, but that includes many, many years as a motorcycle mechanic, lecturer and "private trader". I currently own a selection of old British bikes, and a few modern Japanese bikes. For …

I'm doing a rebuild on a 78 xs500 and want to powdercoat the rims however the rear wheel has wheel studs with what looks like rubber bushings around them. I'm wondering if it's possible to remove these so they don't get damaged when in the oven.

Hello, my name is Michael and i just received a 1981 Yamaha 550 Seca from my grandpa.I got excitied and got it back home by myself with the chain and rear tire locked up. Once inside the garage I started to clean it up and noticed there were no spark plugs. After letting the motor sit with several different rust breaking oils for months. The motor never did come unceased. I have since tore the engine apart and thr cylinder walls are heavlly pitted. After takking with some people it was brought up to have it bored to the next size, 650, but after posting a subject in this forum it would cost less just to get a new cylinder head. The next question that has been brought up t…

Hello all I am new to this forum and have a 1978 XS250. The bike is a runner but difficult to start, It spent 6 weeks in a m/c repair shop having the voltage regulator changed and the carbs sonic cleaned along with some other diagnostic work. Eventually I just collected it as they were unable to find the starting fault and suggested new carbs. The bike it seems at some point had 400 barrels and pistons fitted. The carbs are as far as I can tell still 250 original. I have stripped and cleaned them and had the sonic cleaned but still have starting issues. Since collecting the bike I have spent quite a lot of time myself stripping, cleaning and setting up the carbs, also che…
