Good morning YOC - well, it's raining but every morning is good. I'm a newbie. Retired a little while ago, had a hankering for a long time to get back onto two wheels and I've just made the plunge. Bike is on its way, I need to get some kit and get ready to launch. I looked at some boots the other day. It was really interesting to see that boots don't have that steel strip riveted under the right-side boot - you know, the one you use on the kick-start! Yeah, ancient aren't I. Electric starters seem to be the norm - progress, huh! Any way, I'll let you know how I get on (I know, cock your leg over the saddle).

Hi, Should have joined earlier and saved myself some grief during the ongoing rebuild of my 1984 XJ900 31A. Still there's time for something else to go wrong and I can see if I'm the only one who has had problems with some things such as the forks.

Hi guys, my name's Adam. I'm 25 and live in a town called Leamington Spa in Warwickshire. My current bike's a mk2 600 bandit which is my first bike since I passed my test in january. I have recently bought a '99 XVS650 classic in need of a new engine which I'm hoping to get sorted and on the road within the next month, so no doubt I'll be asking a lot of stupid questions in the next few weeks

Just a quick hello to everyone. Back to biking after a few years away but staying away from the big bikes this time so have gone back to my youth and opted for a DT175MX. It was partly restored when I purchased it in Feb this year. After sourcing a few parts and having the guys at RN Motorcycles fix a few problems it passed the MOT with flying colours and now just waiting for the Tank to be sprayed. Will Add photos if anyone is interested. Its first outing should be at BMAD in Paignton on Weds 3rd June. Not a show bike as I bought it to ride and have fun. I am sure I will be asking for advice over the next few weeks. Keith

Hello my name is Sakari from estonia, i have had many bikes in my life but stuck to enduro and motocross . Got to this forum by buying a 1999 Yamaha DT 125R for rides in the town. Got to say i love my DT the most of my bikes because its light and simple but can have a lot of fun with. Needs a bit work but thats okay got it for 650 euros so its all good, starts good, rides good, has good power for its cc, but has a damn restrictor set to 90 kmh which needs investigating.

thanks for accepting me in this club, I do have a problem though, I have bought a pair of cast RD200 wheels to fit to my 1981 RS200 and am having a couple of issues with the rear wheel , firstly are the brake drums the same on the RS and the cast RD wheel and secondly ,even though I have sorted out the swingarm having one spindle slot that is too big due to the use of cush drive on original wheel and the fact that the rd spindle is shorter , I am struggling to get spacers or even sizes of spacers so that I can fit the wheel to the bike, can anyone help?? thanks

Just thought I would say hi, I have just been given a j reg xj600. It's been sat in a garage for 16 years, and hasn't been started for over six. It's all there, and in pretty good condition apart from the tank which looks like something has been dropped on it from a great height. Plan on seeing if I can fire it up tomorrow, so I might be back with some questions soon. Cheers, Colin

hi everyone, just aquired a 1982 rs 200 in a very sorry state. chrome is all pitted, ignition gone, wires hanging out all over the place. it seems to be the original colour scheme (metallic red) and is mostly there. seat is past it. where is the best place to source bits as any help would be gratefully appreciated, and is there a way of getting the petrol cap open without doing too much damage?, cheers and all the best, tony

Hi, new member to this site, found on Google, recently bought my first bike to learn to ride and learn how to work on. I need some help with the headlight though please. When I switch the ignition on the headlight comes on and I can't switch it off. I bought the bike from someone who came off it, the bars on the side where the headlight switch is located took the main impact so I'm beginning to think the actual switch might be at fault. Could anybody tell me, before I go buying a new switch, whether the switch has an actual off position?? The one on my bike is the standard rocker switch but only seems to have 2 positions, sidelight on and main beam on, could anybody tell …

Currently in the process on getting her ready for the MOT I'm a volunteer for the charity National Youthbike and you may have seen me at one of the rallies on the stand with Tony, Ron, Mitch and the crew. Looking forward to meeting you all on here, and soon (hopefully) on the road Paul

Hi guys, I have just been told off for not introducing myself , so I am trying to do this now . I guess I am just not that good at introductions... I just found this forum while looking for more information on how to solve a problem with my YBR. It looked interesting, so I decided tor register. I am fairly new to biking, bought the YBR a year ago, but hoping to get a full license this summer and move on to a bigger bike!!! I live in London and occasionally attend social events in the area, so give me a shout if you are around. Also just finished changing the exhaust and gasket on my little YBR, so if you need info - happy to help. BW
